I have been a patient of DR Pedrotty for over 25 years and would go nowhere else for my healthcare. He has treated me for several skin cancer episodes that probably would have been missed by most GP doctors. His surgical removal of these cancerous growths has left almost non-detectable scars. His surgical skills are on par with even the most skilled plastic surgeon. His referrals for both me and my wife have always been to top rated Doctors in their respective speciality fields. Being a Navy veteran myself I appreciate DR Pedrotty's no nonsense approach and upfront manner, he will tell you like it is. His front office nurse Jessica is the best, always cheerful and making you feel welcomed and cared for. Giving 1 star only because no option to leave zero. We received a call from this office and was told that my daughter's Doctor referred her here. The person that called us told us that our Doctor was "very concerned " and that my daughter needed to be seen right away. That was a surprise to us since my daughters Doctor did not express and serious concern. She told my daughter she could get her in for an appointment the next day. My daughter scheduled it but when she got home she realized she had a test she needed to take online at that time. My daughter called this office first thing in the morning to see if she could cancel and reschedule. The receptionist ( which was the same person who scheduled her) replied " if this is how we are starting off you are going to need to call your doctor and get a different referral. She proceeded to tell us the cancellation policy and basically ripping into my daughter. We sat there speechless, we apologized and tried to explain we did not know about the cancellation policy which she never mentioned at the time of making the appointment. I told her she was being very rude and not professional by the tone she was using, asked if we could speak to the office manager. She stated she was to office manager and proceeded to tell us she has been working there for 10 years and that we wouldn't be seen at this office, to get another doctor. Never in my adult life have I ever encountered this level of rudeness from a doctors office. My daughter was speechless , she had called off her Bluetooth and Myself and my other daughter hear the entire conversation and all 3 of us stunned by how this person flat out lashed out at my daughter. I know of my daughter knew if it was impossible to reschedule and cause any inconvenience she would have emailed her professor and explained her situation and see if she could redo her exam. There was no excuse for the receptionist to lash out like this, my daughter couldn't even speak after the receptionist immediately reacted rudely. Completely shocked by this incident. By no means would I have my daughter be seen at this office ever. Honestly very disturbing. read more

I started looking for a new doctor when I had problems booking an appointment with my previous primary care physician. I called and someone answered!!! That was the first clue I eas getting better care. Yes driving to Coronado seemed a little further out of my way. But easy access, parking nearby and good people make it an easy choice. Dr Pedrotty is an outstanding Doctor. His excellent service to both myself and my mother are greatly appreciated. Jessica his assistant is an outstanding LVN as well as an incredible administrator. You feel as if you are cared about and not just a number or dollar amount as each of your concerns are addressed in the utmost professional manner. It is a family-oriented practice with Dr. Pedrotty , his wife, and Jessica all who helped manage any and all situations. His military background gives him the medical discipline that is comforting and assuring and quite honestly refreshing in this day and age. Dr. Pedrotty is very thorough in what he does and with his experience as a retired Navy Medical Officer his medical experience is hard to match. His practice as a family practitioner, cosmetic dermatologist, wellness and alternative medicine as well as Sports Medicine gives him much more experienced than you could find in any other doctor. He also has orthopedic surgical experience. If you have a problem medically he can help you solve it. My mother who is 85 years old goes to him and raves about his caring and concern for her. He has also recommended the top specialist for my mother when needed. In my opinion you cannot find a better doctor or office to deal with your medical issues. The Specialist that he recommends considered Dr. Pedrotty in the top 1% of any doctor they have ever dealt with and comment on his thoroughness. I agree with other reviews, the Doc is completely unprofessional and sexually inappropriate. It began with his receptionist who was very familiar with him, combing his hair back over his head while he sat talking to me. I had asked for a referral to a dermatologist for a skin scan and he said OH we can do that right here, right now! And asked me to hold my shirt up, oh now my bra should be lifted, there's lots of skin cancers that like to hide there... I was completely taken aback. Oh no no. The absolute worst doctor I've ever had. Whats even worse is his office staff who happens to be the nurse. For years I have dealt with his horrible bedside manner but after a 3 month mess up on a referral on his nurses' part and refusal to help or make sure that I received adequate care I have to switch! Actually, I'm not surprised - the admin has only replied to positive reviews here, even though it's clear that I'm not the only one who's had issues with Dr. Pedrotty... I had a completely awful experience with Dr Pedrotty. He is totally unprofessional and has zero bedside manner. While I was under his care, he sexually harassed me and shamed me for breastfeeding my baby. In addition, he also prescribed an unnecessary medication that would have put my baby and me at risk. I was referred to Dr. Pedrotty by another excellent doctor. When I heard he was located in Coronado,Ca. I was a bit hesitant, as I figured his prices would be exorbitant. As it turned out, I was pleasantly surprised in many ways. Dr. Pedrotty is a smart, caring, and personable physician. He makes you feel at home in his office, and at the same time shows his utmost knowledge in the fields he specializes in. His office manager, Jessica, is very knowledgeable, and makes you feel welcome along with being professional at the same time. The doctor's prices are very fair and reasonable, which helps to make whatever reason you have to see him well worth it. This man was a life-saver for me yesterday! I have been having horrendous pain in my hip due to bursitis (I'm talking about debilitating, can't sleep, can hardly walk, wincing with every movement kind of pain) and my fabulous summer chiropractor Dr Potter said I needed more than he could do and it was time to bring in some drugs. So he walked me around the corner (well, he walked, I barely lumbered) to Dr Pendrotty's office and introduced me to his assistant Jessica. The office was just closing for a two hour lunch and I was fully expecting to have to go back later. She decided to get me registered and asked me a few questions. She could tell I was in a sad state. Next thing I knew, she called out to the doctor and asked if he could squeeze me in really quickly before leaving. God bless him, he said yes! He not only explained what bursitis is by showing me some illustrations of the anatomy of the hip, he told me what my options were. Since I have a fun birthday weekend coming up with out of town guests and lots of events, I wanted to bring in the big guns. He recommended a steroid shot and a follow-up of oral steroids to take for 5 days in progressively smaller doses. We did the shot, and he was really specific about hitting the exact spot where my pain was coming from. Then he called Walgreens right then so my prescription would get rolling right away, and gave me some strong Tylenol and advice for icing and heating my hip. How nice he was to care enough about a patient he'd never seen before that he would delay his lunch hour to give me such assistance! It meant the world to me. I was then able to start feeling much better and walking more normally. I slept through the night and the pain is vastly reduced. Now I can enjoy my birthday weekend and feel like I am turning 49, not 89. I am soooo grateful and look forward to following up with him on Monday. Thanks, Dr. P! read more

This is the best doctor experience I have ever had. Like lots of people I dread going to the doctor. But with Dr. Pedrotty , it was a different story. I've been there twice now and, both times I was called for my appointment within 10 minutes of getting there, and I also was in and out within 30 minutes. I had been to about 3 doctors before going to Dr.Pedroty, and he fixed everything that was wrong. The rest of the staff was amazing. Charlene (I hope I got that name right) was very friendly and she laughed at all my stupid jokes. Very caring doctor. Never been here for anything cosmetic related, but he's always been my general doctor I would see given I felt something was wrong. Whenever I would come in, I had to wait at most, 5 minutes until I was seen. So I don't feel they ever overbooked or wasted anyones time which is a huge problem when it comes to doctors offices. Dr Pedrotty is wonderful. I twisted my ankle in Chicago bad. Called for an appointment the day before and Jessica his nurse said when you get off the plane come right inn. Dr Pedrotty sent me for x-Rays told me to fill a prescription and come right back. He was also training an intern. They told me it was not broken and to RICE. Rest,ice compress, and elevate. Dr also gave me exercises to make it heal better. It was so nice that he took the time to explain everything and what to expect. Come back in a week. They are so wonderful. If I could give zero stars I would. The only good thing about his office is his receptionist/nurse/assistant. However, I have no idea how she works for him. The first time I went to see him he made several extremely inappropriate sexual comments towards me, that I do not feel comfortable repeating. When I left his office to check out I realized I was his last appointment for the day and his receptionist (his only employee) had already gone home. This made me really uncomfortable. He proceeded to tell me about his nice car, and how me should never have done primary care since there is no money in it. He tried to sell me on a laser treatment that I later looked up at home a learned it was not at all for a young women but for older women wanting to smooth out wrinkles. He told me if it's a financial concern to just put it on my credit card. All this to say... I left thinking maybe he is just one of those inappropriate old men, but in constructively thinking about the things he said they were not meant to be jokes. He was serious, which is disgusting and very disturbing and I wonder if I am not the first female patient to be sexually harassed. I then had to go back for a follow up appointment a month later, which I took a friend with me just incase he said anything inappropriate. I won't go into long detail about the visit but he was highly unprofessional and also made a huge mistake in reading back my findings from a radiologist. I was led to believe I had a mass that grew 10x in size until I went to the specialist he referred me to and they confirmed that actually the report had a typo and it had not grown at all. Overall the man is a hazard to his patients health and needs to retire. He is very very lucky that the men in my family didn't go down to his office and force him out of practice after telling them what happened! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I went to Dr. Pedrotty because I had heard he was the best in town. He was - for a while. I really liked his efficient, effective and smart diagnoses of my issues. But then he began pushing the pill samples on me. (My later physician said there was no evidence that I needed blood pressure medication and that it was negligent to order it for me after one high reading.) Next came his special "medically sound" weight loss program that turned out to be his wife selling Amway products! That might have been excusable as an overzealous husband trying to help the missus, but after I discovered the sham, and returned the unused products, the wife promised a refund that she never delivered. My pockets are $620 lighter thanks to this marketing scheme, and I have waited 5 months for a refund. My next step is the small claims court and maybe even the medical board, considering that I was sold these products across the doctor office counter. It is a shame to see a medical practice with so much promise stoop so low. read more

I have been going to Dr. Pedrotty for 2 years and every time I leave his office I am utterly disappointed. I am relatively healthy and in the healthcare field with direct access to other MDs so I don't really need a PCP. He fills my meds 1x/year. This time I needed a prescription which needed a PA. I made an appointment just for this. He wrote me my prescriptions without assessing me which is fine, but then checked my ears, and without my informed consent "cleaned my impacted cerumen" ( basically cleaned wax in my ears with a tissue) so that he can see in my ear. Later, I received a bill for $270.00; 80$ for a surgery + 190$ doctor visit. I called his office and asked why he would bill me for a "SURGERY" if he simply cleaned my ears. I also said that it would be courteous if he had informed me that this was a BiLLED procedure, which i would have declined since I could do it at home myself. Dr. Pedrotty did not acknowledge this, and told his secretary to tell me that " he does his doctor stuff and does not need my consent, and later bills" she also proceeded to say that " Dr. Pedrotty does not answer or talk to patients about these concerns." He will be hearing from my legal team and will report his unprofessionalism and unethical practices so the medical board. Like others on this review, he also sent me to get 50+ labs done and a few other unnecessary referrals. I will be looking for a new PCP. ** also don't fall for his overpriced hair removal and other procedures... Go to Avalon Laser or Reviva, better work and better results. read more

I have been a patient for a couple of years. He is different, very in your face approach. I did not mind at first but, when I needed a referral I was told to come in for another evaluation. Well, I go in and an intern is introduced to do the eval. So, after intern does eval Dr. Pedrotty has intern tell him the findings in front of me. As the intern is giving the findings, Dr. Pedrotty is reprimanding the poor intern in front of me! It was an awkward visit and I feel obligated to warn you to stay away from this quack! He is full of himself and not always responsive to what you come to visit him for. I was also sold on his rip off vitamins. This guy is interested in money first. If you are a new patient of pedrotty's, be prepared for endless blood tests and follow up appointments. If you are able to end the cycle of infinite follow ups they will still call you every six months for a random follow up. Pedrotty has perfected the art of for profit health care by telling you that no matter how small a issue you are experiencing, you are going to need blood work and plenty of monthly follow ups. Also he will recommend his "very cheap" vitamins that he wanted, and did not receive, $137 dollars for. If by some chance he runs out of issues to make follow up appointments for, he will tell you to go have your eyes checked and go to the dentist and report back to him to let him know what they say as if that is any of his business. Even a simple request of a flu shot for my daughter turned into an billed office visit so he could tell me she will be a tall when she grows up. I completely understand that this is his job and how he makes his living but after awhile it become obvious that he is having you do thing, not for your best interest, but for him to make a buck. If you think I am exaggerating in any way please feel free to book your fist appointment, there will be plenty more to follow. I when in for roseaca presription he ended up talking me into a IPL the first time it was Okay but then he actually beg me to have another one he hurt real bad the 2nd time I ended getting an infection which landed me in the ER from the high dose antibiotic, when i went in for a follow -up he would not take responbility. My face looks worse I have pigmentation and a few scars he claims he didnt do that to me he actually lied about the whole truth very dishonest dr I would never go back to him,he claims he graduated from notre dame but when I checked online it does not state he went to notre dame. I've had this doctor since I was 18. At the age of 19 he prescribed me 3 different antidepressants, xanax, klonopin, ativan, ambien and so on. I bring that up because he was so willing to prescribe medications like this to a 19 year old. Around 23, I had this lump in my throat I couldn't get rid of. I kept needing to clear my throat and it felt like a golf ball just never going away. He didnt believe me and said he didn't see anything. He suggested it was post nasal drip as if I never had a cold before and didn't know how my body handled it. I made a second appointment and again he insisted nothing was wrong. This doctor is extremely dismissive and I get the impression he wants to be in and out as soon as possible. He doesn't care about helping people. I finally pushed for an ears mouth and throat specialist. I went through a few thousand dollars in co-pays. They had me do barium swallows, which would get stuck in my throat. I had a sensor shoved down my nose and countless other tests. A year and a half later of doctors telling me I had nothing wrong, They discover I need my tonsils removed. Thats right, I'm now a few thousand dollars in debt in medical bills because I needed my tonsils removed. Now its 2016, I have this reoccurring rash on my face. I make an appointment for the doctor and at the time my face looked like the grand canyon. Prior to that I never had any acne. My face was red and look almost like leather. He told me it looked like rosacea. He prescribed me cortisone cream and sent me on my way. The scream made it worst, it didn't help me at all. It would hide the rash but the rash was still spreading and getting worst. two weeks later I made another appointment and he completely forgot about the rash on my face. At the time I was treating it with a pound of cortisone cream because it was starting to scar. He said he didn't see anything. Just like with my tonsils. He was patronizing and acted like I was making it up. I kept insisting I wanted to see a dermatologist and he set me up with one. A month later it turns out that she didnt take my insurance. I then made an appointment with another dermatologist through his office and today they just called me saying that my primary doctor never sent the referral. The mental stress this has taken on my is shocking. The last time I was at prima-care, I was taking the elevator down talking to my friend about how my doctor doesnt care about anything but prescribing meds. A little old lady looked at me and said "You must be talking about Dr Pedrotty." I laughed at the time but that says a lot and isnt really worth laughing about. read more

I needed to find a new primary care doc because of insurance changes. I selected Dr. Pedrotty - and am extremely grateful that I did so. Long story short: really ill for the past three years. My previous doc just kept pushing pills, until it was out of control - not making sense, while I continued to become more sick. Dr. Pedrotty started fresh - took me off numerous meds, ordered lab tests, counseled me, and has been a top-notch professional. Note: He is not an 'overly friendly man,' but, do you want a doc who tells it like it is - or one who will just write an Rx? If you need an Rx, he will have a solid reason with lab tests to concur with his reasons for prescribing. Literally, this man has saved my life. I feel better after just five or six visits with his expertise, than I've felt in three years. If you are military, or a veteran - Pedrotty is your man. He will get you well and refer to specialists when necessary. Admittedly, he scares me a bit with his no-nonsense approach.
