We were also thrilled with our newly purchased Bloomfield home, which we had to win in a competitive bidding situation. Buying and selling homes is often a difficult experience because it involves success with a million details, at the same time, managing to a complex set of important emotional and financial considerations. As a hands-on business owner myself, I was truly impressed by Kathy's attention to detail and personal assistance throughout the whole process and all transactions. Her entire team was equally attentive to detail and I appreciate all of the care they showed making our experience as turnkey as possible - all the while making us feel like we were their most important client, which we certainly were not. Your real estate agent options are many, especially when buying and selling expensive properties. Everybody wants your business and virtually all of them will say anything to get it. We knew from the first conversation when my wife and I interviewed Kathy that she was the right choice for us. Selling and buying is a competitive process and you should expect your realtor to work their hardest and perform their fiduciary responsibility to truly earn their commission. When I stopped fighting my inclination to micro manage these processes and simply had faith in her by giving her my trust, everything went according to plan and ultimately exceeded expectations. Buying a home during Covid was challenging to say the least, but they gave us a very detailed virtual tour and inspected the house thoroughly as if they were buying the home for themselves. We have personally sold and purchased several homes, and without exception, Jolene and Mark Jacobs were hands down the best realtors we've ever dealt with. No place is perfect and mistakes happen, but it got out of control with this agency. What's especially disheartening is when I brought up issues, my realtors dismissed/ignored me and blamed a 'poor' memory with twisted facts. Well I have physical, digital, and eye witness evidence proving I'm not hyperbolic when I say my experience was bad. Below are just a few examples; -I have screenshots showing that I was the only one watching the MLS hours before my listing went live, as it was the only house still without photos and 7 hours past the promised upload time. My realtor scapegoated their chosen photographer, but were clearly not managing him until I initiated it. I also have screenshots of my many asks for 'twilight' photos of my house that were never delivered. -I have the physical flyer that was sent out advertising my listing with the WRONG address. Several neighbors texted me about it after they saw it, and it was after this mistake that my neighbors and family lost faith in my realtor's detail orientation and follow through, and I looped in a contract specialist. This was a smart move as the first buyers backed out because they changed their mind, NOT because of inspection issues, and the contract specialist confirmed flaws were made. -I have a screenshot of my Realtor's text promising daily status calls during Open House weekend after I mentioned a perceived lack of transparency, and a phone record showing that promise was never fulfilled. -I have the physical first closing contract where my name was written wrong on it, and I was the only one to notice it! I had to use more PTO to wait for it to be corrected and had to adjust my day around continued sloppy detail orientation. My name is not complicated and they knew it for months. -I also have screenshots of me asking for a status 2 or even 3 hours after an event as I was left in the dark unless I made the initiation. My old neighbors tell me they are now receiving promotional advertisements of my old listing/sale as an asset for this agency, but as the seller I just gotta say that it was not a good experience. Frankly, it's really frustrating seeing my old realtor take credit for the sale of a house that I worked to update, when I haven't even heard from her since before closing. It's 2021 and I knew it would sell fast, and all I wanted was a communicative and detail oriented partner/realtor to help provide an efficient experience. But my chosen realtor ghosted me before the deal was even done after making many of the mistakes listed above. The promotional advertisement does have the address right this time, though, but those neighbors also saw the first one. Even if my house sold for over 100k over asking I'd still write a poor review. I'm now a buyer in a sellers market and my new realtor has been helpful, communicative, and transparent. She has helped me realize that I was not the problem/unreasonable client this agency implied I was. Buying and selling a house is stressful enough, and if you're reading this review and you're in the market for a realtor, I'd proceed with extreme caution with this agency. At least until they understand that talk is different from actions, and until they tighten up sloppy operations.
