When I later called them (not knowing it was the same company), Mike admitted he knew the pool and had told the previous owner he could not actually fix it -- only patch it temporarily. When I asked questions, he refused to answer. We later ended up in court and found out he knew the previous owner personally. We also discovered we were charged a different rate for the same service and the invoice notes didn't match what actually happened. Very dishonest experience. I would not trust this company.

Turned out there were two holes in one of the pipes that had been leaking for a very long time. So muddy in there. Felt sorry for the guys to deal with it. Here is a picture of the pipe with the holes. As you can see, it was a very dirty job! Efran never complained....had to even go and get more parts. If you want a job done the right way he is your man! Just go on Yelp and see all his recommendations! I think there were 54 at last count....now I will be adding mine. They came out just a couple hours after I called with my emergency (tub blockage), and not only quickly determined what was going on and fixed it, they noticed a problem tied to the blockage that was affecting my kitchen sink and fixed that as well, without charging me any more. Very responsive, extremely reasonable rates, no weekend or travel surcharges, and none of those greedy tactics some other plumbers use of charging just to take a look at the problem. They gave us a sliding scale depending on labor for specific jobs. When they invoiced us, they included receipts for parts... this is something that we rarely see but it creates a sense of trust and honesty. There are no surprises. Our first job was a lesser, more simple, job-we had at few sockets replaced one of which was a very loose socket that we were concerned about arcing. The second job was more extensive as there were several "needs" in one day. They replaced overhead light fixtures (3 of them), replaced an old and VERY outdated (probably from when our house was built over 35 years ago!) smoke/fire alarm, and installed bedside wall mounted lights. They are GORGEOUS!! On their third visit soon, we will have heated flooring in our master bedroom installed. B. Henry's Quality Electric is the place to go for your electrical needs. The team is nothing but helpful, and professional. They are community oriented and are always there to help when you have an electrical need. I cannot express enough how grateful I am for the timely, honest, and professional service that was provided to me by John Owens Services and their HVAC technician Chris. Two days before Thanksgiving our 22 year old furnace decided to stop working and I called a couple of companies to try and get it diagnosed and repaired before the holiday. One company (not John Owens) was able to come out that day and diagnose the problem, however they provided me with a quote for $1600 to repair and informed me that it would be at least a week before they could address the issue. Since I had already scheduled an appointment for the Saturday after Thanksgiving I elected to do some research on my own and have John Owens Service to come in to provide a second opinion. I am so thankful I did. Chris arrived on time and was extremely professional. I informed him that I had done some research and even purchased a replacement motherboard (the point of failure) for our furnace but wanted to see what he thought about the situation. He confirmed the board was the point of failure and that I had purchased the correct replacement unit. After performing a thorough inspection of our furnace, Chris installed the board I purchased and then took the extra step of educating me on how to keep this old furnace running safely. Heat exchangers can fail as units age and pump CO into the house if not properly monitored. Chris recommended that I purchase CO monitors for the house to keep tabs on the condition of the furnace while keeping me and my family safe. No one else took the time to discuss these issues with me and I consider that potentially life saving advice. Here's what I learned in this one service call: 1. John Owens is committed to putting the customer first and not simply upselling you to things you don't need or padding their estimates. 2. Their technicians are not commission based and therefore do what's necessary to provide you with great service. 3. They are personable, thorough in their work, and willing to take the time to educate their customers on how to get the most mileage out of existing products. 4. They are my new "go-to-guys" for all HVAC and plumbing services. Thanks to Chris and thanks to John Owens himself for understanding how to build a top notch and customer-centric business. A recent visit by Max was no exception. After 50 years our kitchen drainpipe, a 30 foot run to the sewer, has become badly plugged. This is the way to get a split system. It's completely electric. Does both heating and air conditioning. When I used to heat my condo it would take 1.5 hours to heat my place, now it takes 10 minutes. Much better in my eyes. At least it doesn't make receiving my P G & E bill as bad.
