I called Salazar, Angel immediately called me back, and told me not to worry about a thing, he would get it done. Took my insurance info and ran with it - I thought! He did meet with the adjuster one time to look it over. After that it was dead silence. I would call only to leave a message. He might or might not call back. I would email and maybe get a response. I texted him too. If i did talk to him he would assure me it was all good. Then my insurance company sent me a check for 1047.00. I tried to call Angel to ask what it was and emailed all the paperwork from the Insurance. Never heard from him. I called Salazar to say i had been working with Angel but it wasn't working. I got a call from Jorge who also looked at the house and took all my info. He tried to contact my insurance adjuster but couldn't reach him. Tis has gone on since last July! The story ends well though, with us finding IBEX and a first phone call that started with Ricky saying, "So tell me about this window project. What is your home like, and what are you hoping for?" After that first conversation I felt calm and like I had finally found what I was looking for - someone who could take it from here. We hired IBEX to replace 29 windows in our home. Our house was built in the 1930s but the windows were aluminum and probably installed in the 1970s. We knew when buying the home in 2020 we'd need to replace them, but after one year of holding them open with books, ice inside, condensation that caused the paint to warp on every sill, and one that straight up leaked when rain blew in from the west, we decided in early 2022 it was time. We are so thankful we found Ricky and Raymond at IBEX and took the leap. We easily trusted them and their recommendations. The windows were installed to perfection, even though upon removing the old ones, we found that the wood had warped and rotted, and the wood had to be replaced and the windows had to be rewrapped. The paint was solid and they did not get a drop of paint on anything else. (I mean that painting is beautiful.) Lane, from Redbud, did everything he could to make sure I was happy with their work. Like other companies, they were prompt at coming to the house and providing a quote. Price wise, their quote was in the middle of the other vendors. One of the reasons I selected them is their communication, availability, and reasonable/competitive price. I was also impressed their quote included the exact same items that my "initial selected vendor" provided. A Better Way did not have the adjusters findings, but their quote covered all the adjuster had listed. That was affirmation to me that A Better Way is thorough. I did some research by looking at reviews, checking BBB, and requesting insurance coverage for the companies. Even though A Better Way is fairly new (I think April 2024), that did not scare me off. My thinking is that a new company would be inclined to do a great job to develop a good reputation as they grow. I was impressed with my communication with Hollis who answered my questions and shared his knowledge. We talked about pros and cons of options with a focus on the prevalent and variable weather in OK City. I wanted to have the roof installed prior to the end of the year. We set an appointment for the day after Christmas. The crew showed up and started the work around 7:30 a.m. My tenant said there were A LOT of workers, maybe 7 or 8 people. This made the installation go quickly. I think it was because possible rain was in the forecast. I definitely appreciate they were completed before the light rain started.
