We followed their recommendation, worked with a plumber, and then had DLV make some other small fixes they'd recommended. When they came out for the repairs, they went above and beyond by painting the white pipe the plumber put in to make it blend with the roof more. They didn't charge extra for that, they just took the initiative. Also had a great experience with the scheduling staff. Katherine was even able to coordinate with us to have the team come sooner when there was a cancellation.

The first crew turns out to be subcontracted (even though DLV's salesman emphatically stated they don't subcontract), it was this crew who refused to install the hip shingles because the color clashed so badly. After waiting six weeks for the correct hip shingles to arrive through the hail and storms of April they then send a second subcontracted crew. Of course the second crew neglects to trim back the material at the ridge vents creating complete blockage, I bring this to DLV's attention and they argue with me, I say I'm bringing in an engineer, and they say let's have a certainteed inspector look at it for my 5-star warranty, of course the inspector sides with me. Stay away, far, far, away. This Asheville, NC DLV organization, sucks, plain and simple. I would have been better off with a storm chaser, stay far, far away. James, are you listening?

Took them nearly nine months to do the job, nearly cost me thousands in coverage from my insurer due to poor documentation of my damages professional negligence and poor communication, and they breached a portion of the contract by refusing to do the last portion of the project. I'm now left hanging to seek an alternative contractor on my own. The work they did complete, eventually, was fine. The project management, communication and customer commitment was abysmal. Never again.

Mid January I started calling asking for an update. Corey doesn't answer the phone or return call. Brandon Lee doesn't answer the phone or return calls. Kip Frady stopped answering, couldn't leave a message because his voicemail is full till this day, and Katie in the office is helpless because the guys dictate everything. I was calling daily trying to get my roof scheduled. My house was hit with a tree during Helene and none of the interior could get done until the roof was done. They didn't even start my house till end of March - which I was pissed. Again calling every week, no responses, but they had my money and I was stuck. Then they tried to skirt the system and not have the trusses inspected. Donny - been doing this my whole career- tried to play dumb and was a jerk. I had to hire a structural engineer, I had to find all their mistakes to get them to fix it, and it put me behind another month. All because they took on too many jobs, money hungry, while people are just trying to rebuild and MOVE HOME after their home was destroyed. They couldn't care less, tried to avoid inspection, did shitty work, and now I'm stuck with it. I WISH I NEVER HIRED THIS COMPANY. AWFUL COMMUNICATION. Everyone blames everyone else. NO ONE answers the phone, no one takes accountability for their work. Nothing. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I hired Southern Classic Roofing in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene to address damage to my roof,…read morespecifically the front slope, as outlined in my insurance adjuster's scope of work. The insurance payout for this portion of the roof was approximately $4,000. During the initial consultation, I was presented with options, and the company strongly recommended replacing the entire roof, stating they only used architectural shingles. As a first-time homeowner dealing with significant roof damage, I may have had somewhat high expectations. I opted to proceed with replacing only the damaged section as per the insurance scope, which they agreed to do for $4,000 via text. I paid a 50% deposit, and a few weeks later, on December 11, 2024, a crew arrived to perform the work. Notably, none of the individuals I had previously interacted with were present. Shortly after the crew completed the work, and based on the assumption that the agreed-upon work was completed, I paid the remaining balance. In February 2025, a subsequent windstorm resulted in shingles being blown off again. A new insurance inspection revealed significant issues: only approximately one-quarter of the roof had been replaced, and 3-tab shingles, not the architectural shingles I had assumed, were used. The adjuster also indicated improper installation. I contacted Southern Classic Roofing via email, expressing my concerns regarding the discrepancy between the work done and the agreed-upon scope and price. I emphasized feeling misled and requested a refund. A representative from Southern Classic Roofing responded, disputing the claim of improper installation. They stated that the $4,000 was used to replace the smaller section due to the need to repair underlying wood structure, a detail that was never communicated to me prior. They again recommended replacing the entire roof. I requested an itemized invoice, which was never provided. After further communication and another inspection by a representative, they agreed to return and replace the missing shingles and apply additional adhesive to other loose shingles. Nearly a month has passed, and this work has not been completed. While I appreciate the initial promptness in addressing the hurricane damage, I am ultimately dissatisfied with the quality of communication and the execution of the work. The discrepancy between the agreed-upon scope, the actual work performed, the materials used, the premature payment of the remaining balance, and the lack of transparency regarding the wood repairs has led to significant frustration. As a first time home owner, I do understand there is a learning curve, but I feel a more open line of communication would have prevented a lot of the issues I have encountered. I am now in the process of hiring another roofing contractor to replace the entire roof. My primary complaint is the lack of clear and consistent communication. I feel I was not given the necessary information to make informed decisions. I would not recommend this company.
