Had to wait 2 weeks for visit to find out I had prostate cancer. Dr recommended radiation. Was told about Gleeson score which measures the cancer pattern. It was difficult to understand and I was asking questions as he was walking out of the examining room telling me "you're not as bad as Biden". He spent approximately 4 minutes with me telling me a diagnosis that would change my life. However, the worst part is the Gleeson score was incorrect and considered high risk. I was so unhappy with this Dr.I went to MEMORIAL SLOAN KETTERING IN NYC. They didn't accept Dr. Shahbandi's diagnosis and resent all specimens to their own lab. Lo and behold my GLEESON score was incorrect and came back lower, which means I was now considered low risk. As a relatively new patient, Dr. Parnes kindly accepted me where several other doctors rejected me as a new patient. Having concerns regarding menopause and feeling too young to accept these changes, Dr. Parnes kindly and professionally addressed my concerns and came up with an effective game plan changing the course of my unhappy situation into one that continues change for the better. We are all unique and different and Dr. Parnes certainly evaluates her patients with that in mind. Her strong confidence, knowledge, and kindness leaves me feeling like I received the latest in medical trends and feeling secure that I am in good hands and the recipient of excellent care. In addition, Dr. Parnes has referred me to Dr. Nirman Tulsyan, a board-certified vascular surgeon. Along with age, menopause, teaching for 31 years, and working out with heavy weights, ugly spider veins became another concern that I didn't want to live with. Dr. Parnes was so enthusiastic to inform me that I did not have to and that insurance would most likely cover the procedure after an ultrasound was preformed. After meeting Dr. Tulsyan who traveled to the Montvale, NJ office to discuss my vein situation I eagerly signed up for the procedure continuing my quest for excellence and striving for total well being. I have no hope of getting my hormone replacements with this incompetent bunch. They blame the Doctor but since I only talk to the staff who knows? They don't seem to care that it's summer and I'm fighting hot flashes let alone the fact that I need to be on it. Plus after a month of waiting for them to call with my pap smear results I finally got someone to call me back with the results. A whole month for simple test results! They are hardly ever open, closed more days a week than any other doctors office I have ever seen so you get the answering machine. Half the time the mailbox is full, no doubt other patients trying to get THEIR results or prescriptions so you leave the message that they never return. I have no idea what to do? I have never had this happen before, Doctor's are supposed to care about their patients not ignore them and their health care needs. Very sad.
