Dental work was fine. They misrepresented how much my dental insurance was going to pay and how much I owed at the time and after paying my out of pocket according to them for the work, I got an addition bill for the rest. They misrepresent what you will actually end up paying out of pocket by almost half, which tricks you into agreeing to go on with the dental procedure and then they bill you after the fact for the rest. read more

I had my first experience with Dr. John and staff last week and to say I was impressed is an understatement. EVERYONE here is genuinely warm and welcoming and each one I met delivered a degree of excellence in their craft. I had a new patient visit and a cleaning and my cleaning experience was over the top perfect! Omg sooo I am here for work and I went to the dentist back home in GA and dr told me I had a cavity. Ok two cavities lol. Couldn't see me the same day and I had to come back here and find a dr to fill them. Reviews were great so I decided on this dr. Now I am terrified of the dentist idk why but I am but I was super nervous. But soon as I saw dr pisacane I knew I was in very good gifted hands. He is such a great dr and a great person with the matching personality he really eased my nerves with his jokes and stories from medical school. He is a master of his craft and he is a great dentist. The place is huge has parking and the receptionist up front is very nice as well. I got two cavities filled at once and I swear it didn't hurt at all. All that worrying for nothing. Thank heavens I found an amazing dentist! I picked Dr. John because of the convenient location and great Yelp reviews (thanks Yelpers!). I just had my second visit and it was a breeze. Whew. This dentist and his team offered the same friendly, professional service I received during my first visit. Dr. John is fun--he's got a snappy sense of humor, but he is gentle and careful during the exams. His assistants were both gentle and thorough with cleaning, too. I got reminders and a confirmation call for my second appointment--thank you!! and billing turned out to be really easy. Shante, the office manager, is very professional and on top of her emails. Dr. John Pisacane installed a crown that fits terribly. The crown fits like a mushroom cap - i.e., the crown has an overhang that is larger than the stem underneath. Worse yet, there is a gap below the crown that traps food. UPDATE: During a follow-up visit for corrections, the attitude was hostile and nothing was improved. Because the crown traps food particles, I still have to floss and rinse 2x/day to keep my breath from smelling terrible. UPDATE #2: X-rays from my new dentist show the problems, and the crown must be replaced. My new dentist was surprised that John Pisacane did not replace the defective (and expensive) crown. Bottom line: I experienced disappointing dental work that deserves one star. A return visit seeking solutions was unpleasant and yielded no improvement. NOTE: The firm's fees are often dramatically higher than what Delta Dental will accept as a maximum charge for reimbursement calculations. High prices, disappointing work, and no willingness to make corrections left a bitter taste in my mouth. read more

I gave this dentist 4 stars because he and his office staff were very friendly and they got my son in quickly. I didn't give it all 5 because he could not fix the problem we had. We were driving thru San Jose from out of state when my sons cap came off his front tooth. We were headed to a family reunion, needed it fixed quickly. The Dentist got us in quickly, and he 'cemented' the cap back in place. Unfortunately, the very next day the cap fell off again. At this point we were already out of state, and unable to get back in to see him. However, the dentist returned our money since we couldn't get back in and have him try to fix it. read more

First I would like to say I hate the dentist. I've had the same one my whole life and was scared to go to someone new. As soon as I arrived I knew this was going to be a good visit. Dr. Pisacane and his staff are hilarious and caring people who put you at ease immediately. I loved that he showed me (with a mirror) exactly what he was doing during my checkup. The hygienists are so sweet and genuinely nice people. I actually stuck around to chat a bit after my 2 hour appointment! I told my husband he was in for a treat at his appointment next week. I'm from Ohio and I moved here for school. when first looking for a doctor I found the closest one and they were just okay. Now that I've been here for a while I looked for my next real doctor in Willow Glen. I heard of this doctor from other positive reviews saying that they were going to this place for very long time and loved it. I just got back from my first appointment and they remind me so much of the dentist I grew up with. The office is very high tech, clean, and designed to look very modern. I liked that we talked about my current teeth situation but also future options of improvement and enhancement. I look forward to continuing my teeth journey here. :) read more

Dr. John is an amazing dentist, and not just because he's from New York. His office staff is both friendly and professional, and he makes sure to spend time with you on every visit. On my first visit, he asked about my previous dental history and his office manager went out of her way to get the records from my previous dentist in Boston. The cleanings I've had done there have been great, and he has been honest about what treatment I need and don't need, rather than pushing procedures at me. His office also uses up-to-date technology both for dental care and for managing medical records. Vee, the amazing office assistant, also does a great job dealing with billing and the notoriously terrible dental insurance plans that those of us lucky to even have dental insurance are stuck with (thanks for being so cheap, Delta Dental!) Best of all, Dr. John keeps his patients coming back. There are free cookies and candy at reception! read more

I saw Dr Pisacane once, on an emergency basis, when my dentist was out of town. He was very generous about fitting me in, took more time with me than he could easily spare, and made a diagnosis quickly and accurately. He also took great care about prescribing antibiotics for my infection, due to my allergies to multiple classes of antibiotics. He was also good humored and personable. Since then, he's also referred me to specialists, and explained some of my options for future treatment. I have every confidence that he's a good dentist, and have no qualms about recommending him. (I've had the same dentist for 35 years, and adore him; otherwise, I'd consider changing to Dr Pisacane myself.) read more

Dr. Pisacane and his office staff are very sweet. Im the type of person that is terrify when it comes to going to the dentist. I have some problems with my teeth so I have no choice but to go see a dentist. I did some research before I picked Dr. P's office. At my first appointment, I had some cleaning done and a consultation re getting a crown for one of my tooth. Leah was the assistant that cleaned my teeth, she did an awesome job. I actually feel my teeth are very clean compared to other dental office that I went to a couple months ago. The second appointment was for my crown, again, I was very scared but Dr. P made the visit very pleasant. The best part was his office made the crown at the same visit. My crown came out very nice. I'm 75 years young. Recently, I broke an incisor biting down on a piece of chicken. It was the #10 tooth, I would learn, and it would need replacing. I have seen a number of dentist over the years and Dr. John M Pisacana is the very best dentist I have seen in the 40 years I have lived in San Jose, Ca. His office is excellent and his colleagues are excellent too. I am happy with the treatment I received from Dr, Pisacana and his staff. I received a partial within two day's, I can smile again, and now I am trying to decide if I should replace the broken tooth with an implant or a permanent partial. I wish everyone who reads this could know the depth of my sentiment. I had not seen the dentist in a major number of years and found myself in a situation where I needed to see someone immediately. I called the many many dentist in my care plan and even though I expressed the urgency, no one could see me for a month. My husband is a Pisacane patient and on a Friday at 5:15 he , against all my urging, called his dentist on his personal cell phone. It is going to sound silly, but my fears became almost non existent at that moment. Not only did he answer his phone, but called in a prescription which took down the swelling (80% of the pain) in two days and then called me on Sunday, to ask if I felt I needed to come in that day. To say this dentist cares is an understatement. I must admit that I had taken so long to see the dentist because... I HAD TAKEN SO LONG TO SEE THE DENTIST.... I was embarrassed to get the results of the exam. Dr. Pisacane made me feel as if it was no big deal. He even went so far as to joke that my dental care was not going to send him on his world wide luxury vacation. I had taken care of things well enough to only get him to Milpitas. This place is the BEST!!! I love Dr. P's staff. Everyone is wonderful and experienced. Anytime I have a question they always have an answer; I personally love that. I am new to CA and am a stay at home mom of two little ones. I bring them BOTH with me and the staff (mostly Shante) watches them. I hate doing that to them, but I do love that they let me when I have no choice. Dr. P is also really great with my 3 year old son!!! He's pretty much great with EVERYONE. Dr. Picasane is a very funny guy. He makes a lot of funny jokes and is the first dentist I have ever met to make dentistry fun. His officer is very modern.
