Dr. Hautala has been a great doctor for my two boys. He always adds humor to the appointment which is great.

Since having my youngest (now 1), I've chosen a more holistic approach with no vaccines, and the difference in their care has become painfully obvious. I thought this clinic was a safe space for my family, but Dr. Ludke's response to my questions about different health options was, 'Everyone's on TikTok and thinks they're doctors.' I felt condemned, not helped. They do say they're vaccine-friendly and recommend others who aren't to go elsewhere. Given our long history, I expected more understanding. It's all business, no love.

Specially, if you are a new patient, the receptionist or the staff that answer the phone are NOT FRIENDLY, but rather, they are condescending the way they talk to the customers or parents of the patient the INTAKE COORDINATOR is also CONDESCENDING the way she talked to me and will NOT return your call even though you leave dozen of voicemails to her. I would recommend finding a different pediatric clinic for your children. UPDATE: The office Manager called me to address my concerns. I stated my experience and my complaint and she told me that they CANNOT ACCEPT US BECAUSE I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE THEIR FRONT OFFICE and INTAKE COORDINATOR PROVIDE. She mentioned that it is better for me to just find a different pediatric clinic for my kids.

I've taken my kids to all locations except Gig Harbor, for the last 28 years. We started going…read morethere when my 2nd child was 6 months old (he turned 29 in August). I wouldn't recommend anywhere else! Not only are they amazing, respectful, practical (don't push what you really don't need), follow up on messages and phones calls well, but they will see your child through age 21, and then recommend a like-minded adult PCP. My youngest is 19, and it's going to be so sad when he's too old to go anymore. They're really good at getting you in with someone else if your particular pediatrician isn't available for some reason. They're all equally good. The extra locations and weekend hours make your life a lot easier when your children are younger and need more care. And if your kid has allergies or asthma, Dr. Jacobs is THE best specialist around. I've been to adult allergy/immunology specialists who could learn from Dr. Jacobs! My mom and grandma were nurses. We went to 3 different pediatric practices, back in the day, before we found this one. I know what to look for in a healthcare provider, having been raised by medical professionals. You won't go wrong taking your child here.

Triage was appropriate and our infant was taken back within 25 minutes of arriving at the door at 1 am. The triage nurse was floating and we were there during a shift change but they ensured that the continuity of care was maintained with no lapse in attention to details. Our doctor was AMAZING- not only a pediatrician but has completed a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine. I trusted her completely. At discharge she took her time to fully explain our child's lab results and how to proceed after we left the ER. Clean and welcoming facility. I wish valet parking was 24 hrs a day because the area is sketchy and I opted to have my husband drop me off in lieu of parking in the garage, which I recognize is a luxury to have two parents available for this.

I have conflicting feelings about Union Ave Peds. Ultimately, we are looking around for another doc…read morebefore our third is born in 6ish weeks just because I've felt the bad experiences have outweighed the good. A little background: we tend to follow a more holistic approach to health. My husband and I see a naturopath as our primary care provider. We prefer to treat the root of issues rather than the symptoms. We tend to shy away from antibiotics unless ABSOLUTELY necessary (and certainly, there is a time and place for them), and we follow a different vaccination schedule than what is recommended by the state. Here's the good... The classes are great for first time parents. We attended them until the 1 year mark with our first and then life got busy, we had another baby, and it just didn't work with our schedules anymore. But we learned a ton in those first ones! It was nice to know that my baby wasn't crazy or I wasn't the only one experiencing certain challenges. It was nice to meet other parents with kids the same age. Dr. Charbonnel is our favorite doc by far. He has a sense of humor and tends to be a little more relaxed and not so close-minded to various ways of parenting or views on health care. He's always been great with my girls. The nurses there are all great, especially the ones in the well-child clinic. I really love those guys (both the women and the guy that works there). Great with kids, and they've gotten to know me and know that I don't do the vaccinations as the state recommends, so they just ask me which ones or if I'll be getting any that day and don't make a big deal. The bad... I've had some unpleasant experiences with 2 of the doctors and 1 one of the ARNPs. Dr Moore is not my favorite. We had 2 really unpleasant experiences with her (too long to go into here). Dr Cain also left a sour taste in our mouths after he stuck his whole pinky finger up my 4 month old daughters rectum and insisted it didn't hurt as she screamed and turned purple. And Patricia Hoppa has been on my "no see" list after she decided to correct my parenting without being asked when I was in the middle of disciplining/correcting my own child. Not cool. Also heard some circumcision horror stories from parents in our newborn classes who switched docs because of it, and we're having a boy this time, so that's affected our decision to switch. All in all, I feel like the docs and ANRPs tend to take the approach that parents are idiots who need to be educated in the correct ways, and their opinions and views are fact and the only way. Most of them aren't real open to other approaches, so as a mom who leans toward natural options and treatments, it's not the right place for us.
