Since having my youngest (now 1), I've chosen a more holistic approach with no vaccines, and the difference in their care has become painfully obvious. I thought this clinic was a safe space for my family, but Dr. Ludke's response to my questions about different health options was, 'Everyone's on TikTok and thinks they're doctors.' I felt condemned, not helped. They do say they're vaccine-friendly and recommend others who aren't to go elsewhere. Given our long history, I expected more understanding. It's all business, no love.

Specially, if you are a new patient, the receptionist or the staff that answer the phone are NOT FRIENDLY, but rather, they are condescending the way they talk to the customers or parents of the patient the INTAKE COORDINATOR is also CONDESCENDING the way she talked to me and will NOT return your call even though you leave dozen of voicemails to her. I would recommend finding a different pediatric clinic for your children. UPDATE: The office Manager called me to address my concerns. I stated my experience and my complaint and she told me that they CANNOT ACCEPT US BECAUSE I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE THEIR FRONT OFFICE and INTAKE COORDINATOR PROVIDE. She mentioned that it is better for me to just find a different pediatric clinic for my kids.

I wouldn't recommend anywhere else! Not only are they amazing, respectful, practical (don't push what you really don't need), follow up on messages and phones calls well, but they will see your child through age 21, and then recommend a like-minded adult PCP. My youngest is 19, and it's going to be so sad when he's too old to go anymore. They're really good at getting you in with someone else if your particular pediatrician isn't available for some reason. They're all equally good. The extra locations and weekend hours make your life a lot easier when your children are younger and need more care. And if your kid has allergies or asthma, Dr. Jacobs is THE best specialist around. I've been to adult allergy/immunology specialists who could learn from Dr. Jacobs! My mom and grandma were nurses. We went to 3 different pediatric practices, back in the day, before we found this one. I know what to look for in a healthcare provider, having been raised by medical professionals. You won't go wrong taking your child here.

She was always on top of everything, checked in on me consistently, and made sure nothing slipped through the cracks. You can tell she truly cares about the people she works with -- it showed in every interaction. She deserves to be recognized for the way she shows up for her patients, and I hope she's considered for whatever awards or acknowledgments the hospital offers. She's a standout

Aside from the few standouts who are really great and good at their job, this ER and hospital has…read morerepeatedly failed my son and put him in serious danger. I have MANY documented chart notes of coming in for seizure concerns for over a year and it was never taken seriously once. For whatever reason they would hyper-fixate on a second issue he was having and completely dismiss any neurological concerns. I decided one day that enough is enough and drove him the extra hour to Seattle Children's instead. They took me seriously immediately, admitted him, gave him an EEG and sure enough he was having likely hundreds of seizures per day (multiple types). I cannot even begin to articulate the heartbreak an epilepsy diagnosis would have saved had we had it a year earlier. His condition has caused serious developmental delays, feeding issues and more - and it could have began being treated a YEAR AGO. This week, against my better judgment apparently - we decided, along with his Seattle Children's Hospital neuro team, that going to the local hospital was best as he could be seen quicker, get a necessary bridge / rescue med on board asap. We quickly created a plan that meant he wouldn't have to risk his safety due to a long drive. When we got there, I explicitly told them my intention for being there (rescue med asap) and that he had a plan in place easily referenced from the other children's hospital. We were assured they'd be getting meds on board quickly to help bring him back closer to baseline and I was optimistic and relieved. And then... it all went south without warning. We ended up being in a room without word for 4.5 hours!! (pressing the nurse call light several times to say he was still struggling and needing his already PRESCRIBED medication) before the doctor came in and casually dropped that he had decided NOT to give my currently seizing child any medications. When I asked why we hadn't been notified sooner so that we could discuss an alternative plan (like leaving and zooming him quickly to Seattle Children's if he was not intending to medicate my child in an emergency or heck even give him a higher dose of his at home medications), he immediately became incredibly agitated, defensive, sarcastic and rude. All because I advocated *appropriately* for my son to get his *prescribed* medication plan because he was declining. He was also speaking very loudly about us laughing about how we were "uhhh - very upset, hah" insinuating we were difficult parents to other staff preparing to care for him, and within earshot of other families nearby. This was in the center desk area for other patients to hear our personal business (and I heard private details about neighboring rooms as well, including comments I found particularly insensitive and unprofessional regarding a teenage girl). My son did not receive any medication until we were getting discharged for a transfer to SCH (and after much advocating and requesting and push back) and what do you know - they helped immensely. There are other very serious comfort related issues such as the blatant inability for almost ANY nurse to properly place an IV (my son has had countless but had his first panic attack getting one here as they dug around FOREVER and blew veins etc). The NG tube placements almost always go horrendously with putting in wrong sizes, needing re-do's for improper placement etc. Other hospitals use comfort meds, vein finders, ultrasounds, better or more frequent training, acknowledging the very real medical trauma these procedures can create. I have also heard and witnessed countless horror stories from incredible parents who have had CPS called on them by MB specifically - cops and social services showing up to their doorstep when they disagreed with the care plan in place, chose an alternative route or decided future appointments were unnecessary because the issue had resolved. I wish I could trust their care as it is so much more convenient but unfortunately they have failed our family (my older son as well) so many times. I hear often of families who have also chosen to go the extra miles to other facilities after bad experiences at MB.
