In reality, they use it to surcharge you into unaffordable monthly premiums. I clearly did not read the fine print carefully enough when I signed up, but now I'm stuck with a $325 surcharge on top of a $190+ monthly premium--all because of hard braking in Austin traffic. Seriously?! If you've ever driven here, you know slamming on the brakes is practically a survival skill. The nerve of them to penalize me for avoiding accidents! Lesson learned: be very cautious with insurance companies and their so-called "savings programs." Progressive turned out to be just like the rest--quick to take your money and slow to offer real solutions. I'm officially over it. Now, I'm looking for better auto insurance options and ideally a bundle with home insurance. If anyone has recommendations for a company that actually values its customers (and doesn't sneak in ridiculous fees), I'm all ears!

I had been with Progressive for years. Recently, I had an issue and I found them both bureaucratic…read moreand incompetent. I finally cancelled. Interactions in getting them to actually provide a refund on the policy reflected the true image of the company. They are friendly as long as they are only receiving. At the point of payment they are the opposite. Avoid. I found insurance elsewhere for less very quickly.

Would give them zero stars if that was an option. The worse insurance experience I have ever had…read more We had a hot water line in the kitchen that had a nail shot through it during construction. The mail eventually rusted through after a few years and began to spray a small stream of water behind the wall. It was behind kitchen cabinets and took a while for us to discover it. When we saw the cabinet back showing signs of damp wood we called a plumber. He came out and fixed the pipe and called another company to do the remodel and replace the wet cabinets and walk. Alstate homeowners insurance would not cover any of this. Both the plumbing company and the construction repair company were surprised that this was not a covered claim. We called the dispute resolution number with Alstate and they still denied the claim saying this was preventive??? Said it was negligence on our part. I guess we were supposed to see through the wall? Everyone we delt with at Alstate was rude and treated us as if we were not important as customers. We will never have Alstate home owners or car insurance again.

I forgot to write a review on working here a long time ago and someone just reminded me…read more Do not work here! They acted warm and welcoming at first and then the truth came out. Selena, who is one of the "managers" told me to my face that she wasn't going to train me because the other manager Hector made more money than her and Paul the owner wouldn't give her a raise. She also told me that she didn't know why he hired me because they couldn't afford to pay another employee. She was constantly canceling our training sessions to go run her personal errands and if she did show up, she would just gossip about other employees, Paul and his wife's personal problems, while texting and goofing off on her phone. Then Paul had me come down to work by Hector and he wouldn't train me either. He would eat and watch Netflix all day. Paul asked to have a a meeting with all of us and he decided he wasn't going to show up. I found out that both of them threw me under the bus to Paul as if I wasn't doing my part. I also found out after the fact that they said they were paying a girl named Sherline towards the end of my time there to train me and she wasn't training me either. She was just raking in that extra money. I was passed around the office like the not it game. I was literally trying to learn their system and the little quirks here and there on how they wanted everything notated, on my own. Paul wouldn't listen to me, it was easier to go off on me on the phone instead of figuring out why they have such a high turn over rate. I had also informed him that I was on the spectrum and he became angry on the phone demanding to know why I didn't tell him in our interview. It was very invasive and rude the way he handled that information. I also let him know that his managers knew. The impression he left was that I was the outsider. How dare I shed light on the way they were running things. I was also told regularly by Selena that they never know if we'll be paid monthly due to Paul having to pull out loans in order to pay us. Paul was very pushy and would dominate the conversation when I was honest with him about his staff. I took a chance on them, because they acted like they were rescuing me from another branch that was doing fraudulent things and refusing to pay. Don't fall for the family vibe they try to give off in the beginning. Everyone was extremely toxic except for one guy,I believe his name was Joey. All in all they did their best to squeeze me out and it worked. Don't say that I didn't warn you.
