Working with an insurance agent for the first time has proven to be more frustrating, expensive,…read moreand time consuming than shopping for insurance on my own. My partner and I were switching insurance companies and policies around for our house and cars. The initial experience was great. Rhys was easy to communicate and it sounded like we made the right move. When we wanted to make these updates, I never received an email back. The excuse was that he was on vacation, but there was no automated email to let me know of his absence and supposedly there's an assistant that also access these emails that were left unanswered. Okay, that's easy to overlook. So, I booked an appointment through their website and we made the switch to a combined car insurance plan. We received confirmation in email both our previous policies would be canceled, only to find out a month or two later, neither of them had been cancelled. It added extra time waiting on hold and unnecessary frustration to a task that no one enjoys having to deal with. Not a single acknowledgement of this mistake or apology was offered. I've asked twice now to speak with leadership or administration about this experience, both times I was assured this would happen within about 24 hours and never received a call. I am kicking myself that I agreed to a one time fee for this experience. Save yourself the hassle and find insurance on your own.

Not only that, but he forwarded the new policy information to the property where the new policy coverage is taking effect, because he knew that that property owner had requested that the new policy information be submitted so it could then go through a third party. This was my first experience with needing to go through a third party, and Conner actually took the initiative and looked up the name of the property and then forwarded the information to them, and included all the information that the property and the third party needed. It's important that I emphasize that Conner went out of his way to do this for me. I was so surprised and pleased that he did this. And during our conversation earlier that day, he was very professional, knowledgeable, and personable. Just amazing customer service all around. This is the second time I've submitted a review regarding my experience working with Conner, and the consistency of the quality of customer service he provides is really amazing and greatly appreciated. Thank you so much, Conner!!

My car has less than 5000 miles on it. Recently I was in a pretty major accident where I was T-bone by a large truck. Progressive refuses to total out my car even though right now they're at around $12,000 and it could still keep going up, but they insist on trying one part at a time and seeing how that goes, and then when it doesn't go good, they add one more part and see how that goes, and if it doesn't go good, etc., etc. etc. Also they told me that they're going to use recycled parts (some from cars that have been in accidents and could be from older years vehicles that had the same part) and aftermarket (not Volkswagen parts) on my new car because they're allowed to do that if it isn't a new car of the same year of the accident date. Even though my car is new, I purchased it from the local Volkswagen dealership in February of 2026. My car is a 2025 (two months away from being purchased in 2025. This is my insurance company that's doing this to me. I am disabled and they're causing me so much stress and aggravation that I'm not eating right and I'm not sleeping right. I've been paying for a rental car for three weeks now and I don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to afford to pay for it. I might have to just not have a car for a while. which is difficult. Also, for the first week of the claim the representative handling the claim said that his system was down so he wasn't able to do anything. And recently I just found out that they were siding with the truck owner because there's a witness apparently that no one ever contacted and because they don't even have his phone number. This whole situation is horrible, and I will never recommend Progressive Insurance to anyone! Insurance is supposed to give you peace of mind that you're covered if anything like an accident happens, but instead all they've given me is stress and aggravation and big bills because besides paying for the rental car which is gonna probably cost me $1500-$2000 I also am gonna have to pay the difference between recycled parts and brand new OEM parts which will be another $1500-$2000. When they could've just put my car down as a total loss, which most insurance companies would have done with the extent of the damage.
