John did a great job last week for my clients in Tracy. He was reasonable and completed the job as he had promised.

John Le is amazing, and his work is absolutely perfect. He is by far the best contractor we found after interviewing and getting quotes from 11 other contractors. He is upbeat, eager to please, and very professional. Not only that, but he is also very punctual, works efficiently, and very hard. The materials he uses are top-notch, and he took the time to explain the differences in his practices versus other contractors. Above all, he's honest. And I loved his motto, i.e. "If you're not happy, I'm not happy". And we are definitely VERY happy! We asked John to extend our backyard, pour and stamp concrete throughout our backyard (over 650 sq. feet), build a raised flower bed retaining wall with seating (over 50 ft. in length), install a new 5-valve sprinkler system, install an outdoor electrical outlet to power our fountain, install outdoor lighting, install drainage, and extend our fence. This was quite a tall order, and we were getting estimates anywhere from $7,000 up to $17,000 from other licensed contractors. After rejecting all of the other bids, we decided to go with John because he offered us the most feedback, and genuinely seemed interested in the job. Also, John's estimate was also very reasonable compared to the other bids. He executed perfectly, and we are very happy with his work. He even offered to move and place an 800 lb fountain for us, even though he had no need to do so. He even let me borrow his truck to go pick up a new BBQ we purchased during the renovation! Such an awesome guy! The entire project was completed within a month, right on time, and right on budget. There was a slight wait in the middle of our project, as our retaining wall caps were on backorder, so we had to wait 2 weeks while they were being ordered. John could have finished this project in 2 weeks if that hadn't occurred, but it was not his fault at all. You and your crew are amazing John! Final thoughts: We will definitely retain his services in the near future - we have a lot more work to do, and John and his crew will be the only ones we go to for any future work to our home. We have also recommended John to our family and friends, and he has also done some amazing work for a number of them. read more

John Le Landscaping is great! I left him a message and he got back to me right away. His estimate was much more affordable than the other contractors I contacted. After I decided to start, he and his crew started that same week. They were able to demo and prep the whole thing within a couple of days and finished within a week. He and his crew did a wonderful job! They leveled my uneven sloped backyard full of weeds, built a very nice retaining wall, and poured concrete through out with lots of drainage. He added a lot of extras that he did not have to do but did it without it even being added to the cost. What a great guy! I totally know where to go for all my landscaping work! Nice man, but. I wanted the front yard cleared out, this included taking out a few small tree stumps as well as a bird of paradise and old rose bushes. What was done is everything was just cut to the ground so I could not see it until it started to grow back. The only things he did remove were the small tree stumps so now I have to pay someone else to remove/uproot the bird of paradise so I can plant something else there, same with rose bush.. Expensive for what I got done.. Also, he quoted me on other work without taking measurements which i found odd, everyone else measures so they know how much sod/soil/rock/gravel to purchase. He just quoted an "off the cuff" figure which for my very small yards I thought was a bit inflated..... Disappointed. In August 2013 John Le did a major landscape job in our front and back yards - new grass, new sprinkler system (lawn & shrubs), removed two trees, planted one new tree and installed a retaining wall. He and his crew did an excellent job. On March 16, 2018 (4.5 years later) we had a problem with our backyard sprinkler system that was no fault of his. He did the repairs and replaced one sprinkler head at no charge. Wow, now that is really standing behind one's work. John Le continues to do a conscientious job and excellent work. Hired him to clean up front- and backyard of a SFH in Tracy. He did finish most of the work on time. But after I pointed out part of job was not finished, he did not respond for a whole two weeks without any explanation. Well I called on a Sunday and he was able to come out for an estimate that day which was great. Yes the phone etiquette wasn't great and with the accent he was really hard to understand. I placed a phone call to this landscaping service that goes by the name John Le Landscaping to have a person come out to my place and give an estimate on some work that I wanted done. The person that answered the phone was actually the owner. When he picked up the phone he says "hello" with no introduction of his business; or, any kind of professional etiquette what so ever; and, proceeds to not say anything. I asked him if I was calling the right number? He said "yes". Once again he remains silent. So, I asked him if he is the person that takes and receives calls from potential interested customers that are looking to have a service provided? A simple yes reply again! It was like playing charades with this person on the other end of this phone. I informed him that maybe it would be a good idea to answer the phone with a greeting since he was representing a business. He should also consider asking the person how can he help them. He gave no response. I asked him if he could come from Tracy to Stockton, which, is only 15 miles away to give an estimate? With out hesitation he quickly replied with "NO"! "Stockton is to far." The whole time I was on the phone with him I had been looking @ his coverage area of where he conducts, and provides his services. If a service provider is already behaving in that kind of manner; that, should tell anybody to stop right there. This guy John lied about his coverage area; because, someone brought it to his attention that he should go about answering, and talking on the phone differently if he wanted customers to know that they were contacting the correct business phone number. If he would act that way based upon just that, I would definitely not use, or refer to anyone for future business. John, the next time someone calls to enquire about your services you should say what the name of your business is and who you are. And Stop Lying! read more
