2010 Had several issues with him as a doctor. I never really felt comfortable about making this review until now, years later and living across the country. It's literally bugged me that I haven't written a review, but finally did today. I was recommended by a friend. He was nice at first, but quite rude and dismissive of what I'd go in to see him after the first visit. I had a partner that had been with someone else prior to me, so I went for testing.. and lets just say even when the rest of the world was using urine for testing.. he's the only one that was doing cotton q tips, which was appalling, uncomfortable and weird. If he was doing that in the 2000s, there's no telling what other old practices that he was doing. There was a point living there that I had brought up asking about medical marijuana for pain and he had the audacity to say "only people that dislike their life use marijuana" which was just ridiculous to say in this day and age. I've lived all around the country but this was the second worse doctor experience that I have ever had. There are so many other doctors out there that can do a better job with newer technology and ideas. Maybe he's changed since I've been there, but I had to post my experience from back in 2010. read more

I was referred to Dr. LaLonde by a friend. Best thing ever happened to me. I had been looking for a Dr. for a long time. He is very considerate and spends time with you asking questions and listening to you. He doesn't keep looking at his watch to make sure he isn't going to spend to much time with you. Usually you get 15 minutes with a doctor, because other Dr's book appointments every 15 minutes. It is not like that here. I really appreciate a good Dr. now days. Also the girls at the front desk are so friendly and courteous. Always smiling and greet you by name when you walk in. I also used their therapy girls, and same kindness and courtesy. The whole group is just great at this office. They also have 2 dogs in the therapy office which are just great on greeting you. Even the animals are great. Misdiagnosed thyroid cancer! Instead he sent me out with a prescription for Prozac after insisting I was perfectly healthy. He wouldn't take my symptoms seriously. By the time I had an endocrinologist ultrasound and then a needle biopsy my thyroid cancer was aggressive, metastatic, and apparently I'd had it for years. At this point, I've had a thyroid removed, a total of 53 lymph nodes, and twice the usual nuclear medicine. I've even met a doctor who said the hospital is "studying my case". I came in with a multitude of symptoms, all of which I now know correlate with thyroid disorder. I let Dr Lalonde know that I had a previous history of thyroid tumor and partial thyroid removal (as a child).And let him know that in recent years two thyroid nodules had been discovered, which were to be monitored. He proceeded with a general physical (including the usual blood tests} and added a thyroid hormone blood panel. All tests came back within normal range. When I mentioned that previous doctors had included a thyroid ultrasound in the monitoring process, he kept referring back to the blood test results and insisted that I was healthy. At one point he locked eyes with me, gave me a strong look, and with a firm voice said "You're healthy aren't you?!". At that point I relinquished any hope of getting further testing. He then proceeded to tell me that my symptoms were stress related. I took the Prozac. All the symptoms remained...just felt like a zombie with a bad case of the blues...so I stopped. It was only by coincidence {or possibly divine grace} that while I was at work, I was conversing with a customer when suddenly he stopped mid sentence, pointed straight to my neck and said "You need to have that checked out, your thyroid is bulging out!" It turned out that my customer was an oncologist {cancer doctor} by profession. This time I went to an endocrinologist, who ordered the ultrasound which lead to needle biopsy and a diagnosis of Metastatic Papillary Thyroid Cancer. All of my doctors agree that I'd had this cancer for years. Because this cancer had not been detected in a timely manor, it spread. As for the thyroid panel being within normal range: My doctors tell me that has nothing to do with determining cancer. Only ultrasound and needle biopsy can do that. Though a thyroglobulin test (which determines thyroid antibodies, may have given Lalonde a hint that something was wrong, if he'd ordered one, which he didn't. The normal range is under one, mine was in the eighties. Just a follow up, I was hoping that Dr Lalonde would have taken note after what happened to me, with my cancer being misdiagnosed. But it seems another patient had the same experience with him. Apparently, he refused to test her, though she told him her family had a history of Thyroid Cancer. Rather he just insisted she needed to loose weight and go to the gym. It really saddens me to hear that another patient had to go through this with Dr Lalonde misdiagnosing her Thyroid Cancer. I wish all doctors would inform themselves on Thyroid Cancer, after all it is currently the most common form of cancer here in California. I have been asked to give talks at my local hospital, after I expressed gratitude for the outstanding care I've received. Could really have done much better. He was my primary care doc until I was sick for a week with a flu then for a month after that with walking pneumonia. I saw him three times and he always said "ride it out;" and "you'll feel better real soon." Went to another primary care doc who gave me meds for the pneumonia and I finally felt better in just two days. To this day I have scar tissue in my lung because of his lousy attention to me and huge delay in basic proper treatment. Another issue: He didn't catch a coming chronic condition of mine that showed signs over time and he dismissed the signs. The doctors he refers to, in my opinion, are average at best. read more

I have been to a spectrum of doctors over the years for primary care, so I've seen the range from not-so-good to the very best--where I feel listened to and like the doctor genuinely cares; that's the end of the spectrum Dr. Lalonde is at. Dr. Lalonde has been my physician since 2012. He has a great demeanor and listens more than he speaks. I feel his practice offers a modern, yet very thorough approach to patient care. I'm always impressed with their procedures and the technology they offer, including the ability to retrieve medical records via a Hippa compliant App on my iphone. His team is always very friendly and has a great sense of urgency, I appreciate never having to wait too long. The office is in a convenient location and very well appointed. When I need Physical Therapy, it is very convenient having the therapists on site. I have been attending PT frequently this year and it has greatly improved my quality of life, highly recommend! read more

I would never recommend this dr. He was constantly telling me I didn't have lupus- which I never said I did!! My health did not get better with him. After I left his care I lost 180 pounds and am on the right meds and getting the care and attention necessary. I have needed surgery and medical care that he never properly referred me for. Although at first he comes across nice - he ends up being rude and unhelpful. Waste of my time and money for over a year!! read more

Terrible. He did not chart anything, so I had to start over from scratch each visit. I told him I was a vegan, and he still suggested that I stop eating meet to lower my cholesterol... Office is filled with posters for botox injections. Staff over-billed me and when I asked them why they had charted my visit as non-preventative care, they didn't answer me. Four months later, I got a call from a collections agency. I would never recommend this guy to anyone. read more

I couldn't speak higher of him. I took my son to see him for his ear infection. He was thorough and attentive. He even gave us medication from his office which I normally have to boy from the pharmacy. We used another doctor when we we moved further from his office but realised we didn't get the same quality of service. I will definitely drive a bit further now to see him. read more

I read a review , by chance, of someone ragging about Dr. Lalonde. All I can say is she got the wrong Dr. L. The one I know is the best Dr. one could ask for. I had a heart attack in his office way back in 2002 and I can still remember how calm and caring he was to me. I would never ever consider any other doctor. read more
