In all of the experience of car shopping John Kennedy Mazda is the worst. On two separate occasions I tried to purchase cars at this dealer: one new, one used. Their sales managers clearly love ripping the consumer off. I've had better experience at many other dealers and got a fair price for the cars I have purchase. I had the most wonderful experience with John Kennedy Mazda. I called trying to find a specific model. Curtis picked up the phone and I explained what I wanted. He took my number and called me back in less than 5 minutes. I had difficulty getting to the dealership. Curtis was incredibly patient with me until I got there, (got lost 3x) When I arrived the car was washed and sitting out front. He introduced me to Peter who was also very nice and sincere. I knew I was in the right place , felt so comfortable and everyone was so patient. They even programed car play for me so I could get home and called me later that day to make sure I made it!! Save yourself time and go to North Penn Mazada. Long story short if you're a female I would advise you to stay away from John Kennedy Mazada. I went there 3 times and tried to give them the benefit. The first time they made me wait and hour and a half despite me calling about the exact car I wanted to look at and didn't have it on the lot. The guy then proceeded to be a rude. The second time I walked in they refused to quote my car because I didn't have my ID? Never needed my ID anywhere else (and I was just passing by and my boyfriend was driving) and wouldn't accept any of my documents that I keep on my phone like insurance and registration. The third time I came in I got the guy from the second time and I accidentally said MX50 instead of CX50 and he corrected me and laughed in my face despite knowing what I meant.... Anyway after being able to tell he pissed me off, he bumped me back to the guy from the first time who refused to hand me any paperwork and would only hand it to my boyfriend who wasn't buying the car.... Anyway I ended up getting a CX50 at North Penn and I loved my experience with everybody at the office and they beat their price :) read more

I have purchased many cars in my lifetime, and this car dealership sadly has been the WORST experience I have ever had. It's really unfortunate because I was so excited at first. I drove over 3 hours to go to this dealership only to be told after I get there that they only had one key fob to give me as they lost the other! What? Then I go to see the car, and they didn't even bother cleaning it, first time for everything. Fast forward to me driving my new purchase home, and the wheel is shaking! Message my sales guy who tells me my car just needs wheels balanced, and the warranty will cover it! I call my nearest dealership, and guess what they tell me? Not true! The warranty does not cover wheel balance so call your dealership. Now he isn't responding! Then I look at the contract, and notice the lady that did our paperwork snuck in GAP insurance for $1,200, and gave me a hard time when I confronted her about it, and told her I didn't want it. I SWEAR to you all that this all happened to me in this dealership. Still waiting to hear back from my sales guy, but I am not holding my breath because their lack of customer service is clear. First time buying a Mazda, and I am sad what should have been a wonderful experience has been a horrible one to say the least :( read more

I spent much time walking around the showroom, getting in and out of cars. I could not get anyone to wait on me. Not even "can I help you". Yes, they can say "we dont jump on people"....but just saying "hi" is not jumping on people. Buying a vehicle from John Kennedy Mazda was pain-free for two reasons (of course, your mileage may vary): 1. we had a super salesperson (sadly, she doesn't work there anymore), and 2. due to external factors, I was eligible for factory prices, haggle-free. Worked with their auto service staff (Keith, and others), who replaced a troublesome tire without issue, and quickly too, much appreciated. Update: As they promised in their response below, the dealer stepped up in a big way and found the part my daughter needed to get her CX-5 back on the road. We really appreciate John Kennedy Mazda going the extra mile to service her new car given that the shortage of catalytic converters is a nation-wide problem. This was not an easy problem to solve and the dealer put in the extra effort to remedy the problem. We appreciate the good service and would recommend this dealer. Update: the dealer has provided a loaner and has committed to finding my daughter the catalytic converter that's needed. Happy the dealer has stepped up to help out and I plan to update this review based on her experience once her car is on the road again. Original: My daughter bought a new CX-5 4 months ago. Her catalytic converter was stolen (this is a big problem these days) and they say you cannot drive the car without it. They have 0 replacement parts and will not allow a universal catalytic converter to be used temporarily without voiding the entire warranty. And, they won't have a replacement for 4 months. Basically, the car is un-drivable and un-fixable until the new parts arrive from Japan in about 4 months without voiding the warranty. read more

My Husband and I haven't bought a new car in quite a few years. After two months of shopping, researching and preparing we headed out to the dealership for the car we wanted. We knew we were not buying that day we were two weeks before the day we planned to buy, so no worries about making rash decisions. I cannot tell you how amazing our service and experience was at Jack Kennedy Mazda. That first day there wasn't any pressure and we were able to test drive a different trim and ask a ton of questions and never once felt pressured, or talked down to or even rushed. They were swamped and we were treated as if we were the only ones there. 2 weeks later we come back and were ready, we have all the true car prices, we have offers from other dealerships, we know the value of our trade in.... By the end of it I felt we had prepped for a world war and showed up to a badminton match. They were so kind and transparent and our negotiations were super nice. Now its no surprise to me that there were a lot of folks buying cars there as everyone on the floor has been so nice. So we did have to wait a bit till our turn with finance. But our amazing experience didn't end there, signing the contract set me at ease every step of the way. Everything was itemized and when we asked about any thing, it was clearly explained and we were shown what it was and its cost. When we declined some service offerings, it wasn't any big deal at all. We even had one service offering that we didn't think we would want coming in, but after really talking through it and clearly seeing what it could save us we gladly purchased it. No regrets on anything! Also I personally have never felt too good walking out of a car dealership, but here I felt empowered instead of second guessing have of the interactions. As a woman visiting a car dealership I often have to work through the fact that I'm the one negotiating and not my husband. Not once did I have to spend anytime redirecting the conversation, they addressed both of us the whole time. I cant say that for some other dealerships we had stopped by while shopping. We look forward to coming back to service both our Mazdas here now. Huge props out to David Sipe and Mark Iatarola, the guys in the front who were so welcoming and nice and really the reason we had little intention to go anywhere else to buy our CX-5. I have purchased 4 cars over the last 8 years from this dealership. It has become a painful experience for myself and my daughters. Service has become a nightmare and they basically tell me the Mazda 6 and the Mazda 5 SUV don't hold up well with brakes, exhaust and electrical systems. Todays bill would have been over $1000,00 for an inspection. This is not what was told to me by sales when i bought and leased these cars. In reply to the business manager, you are predictably hiding behind the large Mazda corporation by pushing me off on them. You sold me the car and you deal with the customers. Mazda does not care and you know it. And you keep mentioning maintenance as if A. This is a maintenance issue and B. Insinuating that I did not maintain the vehicle. Both are false. Nowhere does it say the poorly designed internal water pump needs to be maintained or checked. Its clearly a design flaw by Ford and it's documented online and affects many vehicles. And I was diligent about maintaining the vehicle. Not always at a dealership, but I had more than just warranty repairs done at your shop. You aren't apologizing for posting the wrong information. You're just embarrassed I called you out on it. The fact is, you and Mark had an opportunity to make things right, but instead chose to only help me out if "you have an opportunity to sell me another car". That's a direct quote from Mark's mouth. Typical salesman only looking to put more money in your pocket even if it means squeezing more blood from a stone. Another way to show your honesty is to alert the owners of these vehicles AHEAD of time that they should get the water pump changed or serviced. No, you wouldn't dare do that or you would be operating with integrity and outside of the Mazda "framework" you mentioned. Do me a favor and shove that framework up yours and Mark's .... read more

Since purchasing my vehicle (of which the CX-5 rocks), I have not been able to get an answer regarding registration and plates of which I was told was taken care of twice but when speaking with the DMV, I am told there is no record. I had the opportunity to buy my first car at John Kennedy Mazda. When I walked in on a Saturday to come test a couple vehicles, it was very crowded and the staff was busy tending to other customers. Even though it was crowded, Cheryl, Mark, and Pat continued to stop over and apologize for the wait. They were very hospitable and asked if there was anything to get me while I waited. I appreciated this attitude or serving all customers on a personal basis instead of focusing on one deal. After the wait, they really got to know my vehicle needs and also financial needs. Pat and Mark are pros in the regard that they take the time to understand the customer and their financial situation instead of pushy selling at other dealerships. I ended up purchasing a vehicle from John Kennedy Mazda. Pat took the time to go over paperwork and even was willing to go out of his way to make sure i understood all details with owning the vehicle (warranty, insurance questions). When I came back to pick up the car, the gas tank was full and the car was cleaned once again (it was already prepared great at original point of sale). My experience buying the car was actually fine. My salesmen was nice, and I walked away with a decent enough deal. After moving to the city, I sold my brand newish car since I was commuting with Septa. Then the phone calls started. A year after the purchase I started getting calls about my warranty expiring. "I don't own the car," I explained. "Please remove me from this list." I got letters in the mail asking me to purchase private warranties since "my warranty MAY have expired." TWO YEARS LATER, I am still getting calls from some Las Vegas company that is trying to tell me my warranty for a car I haven't owned in two years that refuses to remove me from their call list and hangs up whenever I ask them to. I don't know if it is normal business practice for a car dealer to SELL YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO OUTSIDE BUSINESSES, but this one definitely does, and that is completely unacceptable. . read more

Our salesperson, Emily, was incredibly friendly and did not apply any sales pressure. While they did not budge on the price of the new car, we still got a fantastic deal that beat every dealership I priced out in NJ. They were willing to negotiate a bit on my trade-in, and we got a very fair trade-in value. Not only that, I did not have to jump through any hoops to complete my purchase as an out-of-state resident.
