My mom had the coleslaw and didn't like it. The cornbread was delicious and soft and airy. Now let's talk about this amazing great service, our waitress name was Brooke. So this place has a long wait and it was BUSY. Brooke was so nice and patient with us. She checked on us and because we waited so long she even gave us appetizers on the house. Brooke was very kind and she was genuine. Definitely a good time. The appetizers we had were really good, the nachos were so good and so were the wings. The wings were perfect flavorful, smoked and plump. The place is friendly and feels like a neighborhood hangout. This was the highlight of my trip and like I said, I will be back. It was good enough, but it definitely wasn't the authentic German brat we were hoping to find. It tasted more like something you might purchase prepackaged from a grocery-store deli than a fresh brat from a specialty sausage shop. We also ordered a pickle, which was actually very flavorful. It was served whole in a Ziploc bag, which was a little unexpected, and while the flavor was good, the skin was extremely tough. The biggest disappointment was the disconnect between the meat market and the food being served. With the sausages and other products displayed in the meat cases, based on their in store sign, we expected something fresh and house-made. Instead, our meal gave us the impression that many of the prepared ingredients may be purchased premade rather than being the same type of homemade products the market appears to specialize in. We sat at a quaint, little table where we were served after we ordered at the counter. The staff was nice but not overly friendly. There's an opportunity here to make the food counter a showcase for what's being sold in the butcher cases--fresh sausages cooking, great smells filling the store and customers getting to taste the products before taking some home. The meats are cooked on the premises in large black smokers that line one side of a large, modern, industrial space. I liked the restaurant's aesthetics. Guests order their preferred meats by weight at the counter. I ordered brisket, seasoned with house spices and drizzled with honey. At the time of ordering, guests pay for their meal and later receive a check to add a tip. A server brings your meal to your table, along with a beverage and several sides and sauces. The brisket was well-prepared; it was tender and had a nice bark. Flavored rice, roasted potatoes, mashed potatoes, salsa, and more accompanied the meal.
