Every time I come here this guy is sooo rude! He has a big sign with books on it saying "$1 for sale" my dad goes to look and he says "can I help you, those aren't for sale they're pre sold". Lol then why are they in a box sitting there with a sign? This is the third rude encounter. He could have said that way nicer- it was so snobby and unnecessary. His customer service sucks! I took my Gibson acoustic to Joe's Music in May 2020. The high E was not registering on the pickup. I expected an evaluation for warranty repair. The tech on site told me it was a setup issue and he wouldn't evaluate it for warranty. I just put a new pickup in the guitar and it works fine. Their techs are either lazy or don't know what they're talking about. Very sad to see. I'm not wout $150 for a new pickup that should have been under warranty. read more

Joe's Music is a blessing to have in my community. Local music stores are in short supply, so I prioritize purchasing products for my musical needs at Joe's. I have always received excellent customer service and paid competitive prices. The customer service alone is worth it - Joe knows his stuff and is always pleasant. The turnaround for service is always within an extremely reasonable timeframe and I can't be more grateful for that. Joe will offer to do anything like repair a warped neck, custom cut a pick guard, install new frets, install new pickups & wiring, even paint your guitar! The repairs are done right and at a very reasonable (sometimes surprisingly low) price. Highly recommend. read more

I've been a customer of Joe's since the 1980's and I've seen it grow from the old location on 9 mile to its current one. There is something to be said about smaller independent retailers that are still going strong, despite the emergence of GCs, Sam Ashs, and online retailers. It's simple: provide a good selection of products at accessible prices and have good customer service. Joe's has a little bit of everything, the guitar selection is wide ranging from affordable beginner guitars to premium Heritage and vintage instruments. I'm from Atlanta and was in town to visit my inlaws for Christmas. My brother inlaw had an old guitar that was desperately in need of a setup. Even though I was not shopping for big ticket items, Joe was extremely friendly and helpful, and set me up with the accessories I needed to fix up the old guitar. Won't be shopping here anymore. Went in to buy a switch for my Gibson. Told the employee EXACTLY what I needed. Was given a switch that I was assured would work. I explained to him how the stock switch was wired. I was basically told I was wrong and that the switch didn't have a ground and should only have 3 wires. Brought it home and went to install the switch only to find that the stock wires in the guitar were not long enough to accommodate the replacement switch. Also I would have to modify the switch itself to make it work. All I wanted to do was replace a switch, not require my entire guitar. Rushed to get to Huber and Breeze before they closed so I could get the right switch. Employee there knew exactly what I was talking about and sold me the right switch first try. Will be taking all my business to Huber and Breeze in the future and not dealing with people who don't know what their talking about. read more

I have a '72 Jazz Bass. It has been hacked on over the years by different "technicians" who told me they knew what I needed. I finally took it to Joe, who I've known for years. The instrument was completely restored to factory specs and color. It was worth the 8 month wait. This instrument didn't play this good when it was new. One of the best musical instrument stores around, doing business the way it used to be before the advent of "big box" stores...these guys have been in the industry for decades, and they know their stuff!! Their luthier and "electronics guy" have been on staff since the 90's , and have the equipment and knowledge to complete repairs other area shops can't or won't touch!!
