My 1996 Civic DX had an engine failure due to oil starvation, so I decided to have my engine rebuilt. The rebuild took around 4 weeks to complete, and so far it runs great with no issues at all. I will probably update this review after a few thousand miles. read more

I wouldn't even give this place one star, but I had no other choice. I brought my van here for a smog check & the mechanic looked under the van & told the owner Joe that my vehicle was stolen. He insisted that Joe contact the police. Then the owner saw I was carrying a designer handbag & made a vomment that I must have a lot of money. First of all, Joe should keep comments like that to himself. Secondly, I have the pink slip to my van. Luckily, they didn't have possession of my keys yet, so I left as soon as I could before they would try something. I had a real uneasy feeling about this place, so my advice is to steer clear away from Joe's Automotive. read more

Joe is the best mechanic around! I believe most people know mechanics that are honest and good are hard to come by. I was blessed by a friend who referred me to Joe. I actually bought my used car from him two years ago. I absolutely LOVE my INFINITY. I go to Joe for my everything. He changes my oil and does ALL MY REPAIRS. I would never take my car to anyone but Joe. I know when I go in there that he is honest and knows what he is talking about. He never tries to charge me more or try to do any unnecessary repairs. Dropped my car off at 10 in the am for a tire replacement and an oil change. They told me they'd call when it was finished. 5 hours later and still no call. So I called in and they said.. "Oh yeah, it's ready...". I go down there to pay and of course their CC machine "isn't working right now" and they told me I needed to go get cash. Very inconvenient. read more

My experience with Joe has always been excellent. (He moved recently to a new location and I'm following him there.) I've been going to Joe for about three years now and I am impressed by his honesty and work ethic. After my husband died, I have had to find mechanics I could trust to steer me in the right direction. My husband had always managed the cars (as he worked in the car business and he'd worked on cars his whole life). After a bit, I managed to find a fellow I could trust, but he closed his shop and moved abroad. I had to find someone new, but meanwhile I went to a national auto chain. They were fast, but overall I knew I was getting overcharged and having things done that were not necessary. I've always liked watching mechanics work, and I could see how these guys would look at things on the car without asking me. In other words, they were going over the whole car without me asking if I wanted an inspection. It never seemed like they were making a general inspection for the sake of safety. It seemed as if they were looking for things to make more money. Due to my trusted mechanic, I had become used to being told what I needed now and what I had coming on the horizon--including a time frame, like a brake job in two years, etc. I really didn't like being part of the assembly line of victims. Then I found Joe. I feel good again about working with a mechanic who will straight out tell me what I need and don't need so my budget isn't busted. He listens well to what I have to say about my vehicles and he is great about getting a second opinion when he feels it's a good idea. For example, he referred me to a front end specialist for best diagnosis when I needed a front end alignment. My old truck is tricky, and Joe doesn't do alignments, but instead of just sending me off, he recommended an expert. The expert is well known in the county and is nearing retirement. This fellow was a wiz. He diagnosed my problem and sent me back to Joe, who did the necessary repairs before I returned for the alignment. I recommend Joe for these reasons. He may not be for everyone--some may prefer a more upscale or institutionalized work site--but I'd rather trust my mechanic than continuously feel like a mark. read more

I can do most normal car maintenance myself but when I drove from Ohio to San Diego my lug nuts got frozen onto my wheels. When I it a flat tire I had to call emergency roadside to come help me get my lugs off and when they were unable too they towed me to joes. He was able to get my tires off an replace my break pads for a fair price. The speed of service was also very quick, and the staff was friendly! Very good customer service! I will be back for sure if when I need future maintenance. read more

I can honestly say that joes automotive is not only a friendly environment but joe really knows cars like no other I have ever met . He not only explains to his customers everything wrong with there car but he fixes the problem without high prices. .. He is like a doctor for cars he can tell what's wrong with them by jst hearing the sound of the engine.. A couple of test n he can diagnose the problem!!! That's what I call passion .. He loves his work and everyone knows when u love what u do ,you do the best job u can.. I would not trust any other with my car.. Honest, great repair without the oversell and bologna Priced very well, highly competent mechanic replaced my motor and made me a new running machine. After I brought in my 1999 Camry with a bad knock, I got a low mileage used engine to replace it, so far so good! Car runs excellent, welcome another 240K miles!
