TLDR: The Tuttle Group utterly astounded us with an effortless, friendly, speedy, and (believe it…read moreor not) FUN refinance as self-employed individuals when no one else wanted to help. We decided to refinance our home to make some improvements and clear out some high-interest debt. We assumed (erroneously) that our credit union, which had held the current mortgage for 15 years plus our bank accounts and car notes, and a flawless history of payments with them, would have no trouble refinancing us, even though we are now self-employed, and making 3x what we made when they initially approved us. ***WRONG!!!*** After literally MONTHS of asking for documents, changing rates, long delays waiting for info from underwriting, and unanswered questions, we finally abandoned them in search of unconventional financing routes. We looked specifically for brokers in the area who specialize in self-employed people, and found a few. Some seemed a bit "green," some sounded less than friendly or just weren't interested in a smaller refi. But Tatiana with the Tuttle Group was super friendly when she reached out, and helped us arrange a video consultation with Andy Tuttle, the wizard of the Tuttle Group. During the 30 minutes that Andy spoke with us, it was like a crash course in financial planning. Everything he said made so much sense, and we learned more about mortgage refinancing than MONTHS of online research and questions we had asked to our credit union. Andy was up-front and told us that our best option might, indeed, be to go with the offer our credit union had finally extended, and that he might not be able to beat it. Still, he took the time to explain how refinancing in this "terrible Fed-rate" era could be financially advantageous to us, and told us to check once more with our credit union to see their final terms and if they were still locked in. I was astounded that he would take that kind of time to talk to a customer he likely wouldn't get any money from. We decided to proceed with the Tuttle Group, even if they couldn't offer us a better rate, simply because it was a PLEASURE dealing with them, they treated us like family, and everything Andy said made such good sense. Throughout the 2-ish weeks that ensued, their awesome mortgage gal Annie checked in with us regularly to make sure all our questions were answered. They seemingly required FAR less documentation than anyone else. But their stated tactic was to present a perfect, iron-clad package to underwriting up-front, so that there would be an instant approval and there wouldn't be a need for further questions or documentation. (Imagine that???) In what seemed like the blink of an eye, we were approved and ushered through closing. We simply could not be more impressed with the Tuttle Group. We've helped numerous friends and family through the mortgage process, and it's always like being put through a medieval torture device. This is the first time getting approved and closing was a PLEASURE. We NEVER had to contact them for questions, because they were always checking in to make sure all ours were answered. They were super friendly, familiar, informal-yet-professional, and we always felt like they had our backs and had everything under control. We actually looked forward to their calls and emails...imagine that??? Even though were were looking for a silly, small refinance and shouldn't have been worth their time, we felt like we had called up a dear family member who gave us the "hook up" our situation clearly didn't warrant. Astounded. Impressed. Thrilled. Grateful. These are some of the things we feel after our experience with the Tuttle Group. And I have absolutely no doubt your experience will leave you feeling the same.

Watch out for this company…read more My ex-husband subpoenaed documents for child support purposes, and this mortgage company disclosed highly sensitive and confidential information that had nothing to do with the case. They released documents that included my full retirement account numbers and other protected personal data without redacting any of it. This is not speculation! I've seen the unredacted documents myself and explained this to the company. Yet, they sent me a letter stating they are "continuing to investigate whether any unredacted information may have been inadvertently disclosed." There's no "whether" about it. It was disclosed. To make matters worse, my ex-husband's lawyer has now submitted these unredacted documents into court, making my private information even more accessible despite a protective order in place against this exact situation. This company gave my most personal and private financial details to the last person who should have had access, and they've done nothing to take real accountability. Do NOT trust this company with your sensitive information. They have failed in both data protection and responsibility.

I have to say, this was one of the WORST screw ups I've ever dealt with in business dealings…read more I began my discussions with Josh around October of last year to purchase a home. I asked him to do it conventionally, not FHA, bc I had enough to put down for the down payments etc. He walked me through the steps of getting the appraisal, gift letters, money in the proper bank accounts for the down payments....everything. Told me we would close in December, but that didn't happen bc I found out he filed the loan under FHA (for reasons I still don't understand), and they wanted the deposits for my gift to my wife for the down payment to be in there longer, etc... So he asked for some more time bc his underwriters needed more documents, I returned all documents asked for the same day he asked, everytime. He makes another closing date in February....says we have ALL of what we need, and it's a done deal. On the day before we are to sign the papers, I'm calling, I'm texting, I'm emailing.....and he doesn't respond. Finally, I get a call from the SELLER of the house asking what the hell is going on, bc he just got a call from the title company saying it's gonna take another week bc Josh doesn't have his shit together on his end. After calling Josh, and leaving several perturbed messages, asking, "How in the HELL am I finding out from the seller that we are not closing tomorrow", and that he spoke to them before he ever talked to me......he finally calls me back around 5-6PM that evening. Now he tells me that after looking at things again, FHA regulations blah blah blah aren't going to allow this to be processed for another month, bc of the gift money not being in the bank at so and so date. I fired him on the spot..... My biggest problems with Josh are this.... 1. He was arrogant and confident on his end the whole way, saying he had it under control, doing everything he can....all the while he didn't have a clue what he was doing. I STILL don't know why he put me under FHA and their guidelines, when I told him I had the down payment for conventional, and we easily qualified for it. I never wanted to do FHA, but me not knowing the industry, I trusted this had to be the way. This constant pushing back month after month, cost me $3400 in rent along the way..... 2. Near the end, when he KNEW he screwed it up, and we weren't going to be able to close, when I called and text him at 2PM to see what's going on the day before the close, he texts me he's going to call me back at 3PM bc he's in a meeting. (I have all the text log/call log to prove this) I don't get a call back....I call, I text, still nothing. Then I get a call from the seller around 4PM saying he's pushing it back again etc.....SO INFURIATING to hear that from someone not named Josh Claudio....still no call back!!! I finally get a call from Josh in the evening, and he gives me the bad news about pushing it back ANOTHER MONTH....says it's out of his hands, he's done the best he can with my "special situation". Like I said, I told him I couldn't stand for this incompetence, and was going to explore my options elsewhere. I got a hold of another mortgage broker at 9PM that evening. I CLOSED ON THE HOUSE, USING A CONVENTIONAL LOAN, IN 13 BUSINESS DAYS FROM THE TIME I FIRED JOSH. The simple fact that I closed basically as quick as humanly possible, starting fresh with a brand new broker only days after firing Josh, shows that he did not handle my loan properly. Simple as that....nothing can refute that. He simply dropped the ball, filed it incorrectly somehow, and did not get me to the finish line as promised. I can appreciate the fact that he did put a lot of time into this, I honestly believe he tried to get it done....but at the end of the day, he did not get the job done, and basically jerked me around for months, costing me more rent.

They were diligent, timely (we were ready weeks before closing), professional and an absolute pleasure to work with! Highly recommend to anyone looking to finance their next home.
