I'm picky about pizza but I love it to death. Thank god I don't need to choose between pizza and my girlfriend. I went there on a nice Saturday evening a few weeks back. I got encouraged by the thought of trying different slices with different tastes. Place easy to find, was full of people so it wasn't super easy to find a space to seat outside and part of that space was reserved for people using some bar downstairs. Most people would just go to Clapham Common and eat on the grass.
It started badly for me. I ordered slice of something and my companion got a slice of the basic slice. My slice was 3 times smaller than her. I was super hungry after the first one so I got a few more and my other ones were as big as her original one so I kind of felt not great about getting the unlucky slice. I would have thought the staff would have done something about it. Best I can tell, I quite liked one of the slices, one with caramelized onion and some sort of meat. This was best slice I had there but only because they put little too much sweet onion. It created this very interesting taste profile. The pizza was NYC style and the choice of different pizzas was not amazing. I'd go there for lunch if there was nothing else available. Dough was nothing special, crispiness was average, toppings were largely mediocre with one exception.
Overall it was an ok pizza, not sure if there are many good pizza places near clapham common. I will not go there again. But if you're on the grass at common with your friends. Decent place to get quickly several slices for them. Quick and ok. Not a great slice shop but it's ok. read more
