The front office staff is accessible, reasonable and open to new ideas. And to top it all off...the other slip owners are very friendly. There has been times when the spring rains flood the lake. The slips are floating slips, so your boats are safe. And, the staff find a way to to get you to your boat slip, even if the parking lots are covered in water!! The…read morepark attendant was helpful in telling us about the facility (boat launch, beach, camping facilities etc. we arrived around 8pm to check the boat out after doing some maintenance but still wanted to go on the lake for a couple of hours. with all the recent flooding they will have to repair the courtesy dock but fortunately the beach is not rocky so you can beach your boat there until the dock is finished. We did not go to the fishing pier but want to check it out soon. I did talk to a lady on the phone there and she was helpful in telling us the amenities.

I've been twice now - once as part of a team building event and once with a friend visiting from…read moreout of town and both times were great! I was honestly a bit skeptical and was worried I might tip over and catch some sort of horrible disease from the Trinity, but honestly it was a a great time and I had alot of fun. I went out in a kayak both times (they apparently offer canoes as well) and I will say that I think I enjoyed the double over the single but that's probably more a personal preference. The trip itself was really enjoyable. I saw quite a bit of wildlife both times and it was quite relaxing floating down the river. The paddling wasn't difficult at all but I did get some not-so-fun blisters...you may want to consider some fingerless gloves (like you would wear for lifting) if you're sensitive to that kind of thing. Sure it's not cheap, but they handle any shuttling (taking you to the launch site or picking you up) and for a 2-3 hour "adventure" it's more than reasonable. Staff was super friendly both times I was there and I definitely had no issues there even with the reservation I made online. Really a great setup and a unique experience that you wouldn't expect in the middle of DFW. I'll definitely be back!

Great urban getaway amid the hustle and bustle that is McKinney. Only 20 years ago McKinney was a…read moresleepy little north Texas town that had seen it's better day. However, having always had something special going for it,the north Texas growth has breathed new life into this 10 square mile area formerly " historic" McKinney. This little lake created by forward thinking city planners is more and more a community gathering point. Just to the west is a full blown Frisbee golf course, hiking/biking trails and more. I just discovered a new addition today. A lighted walk,with music,to enjoy after dark I'll be back.

Well, after talking with our neighbor. These people are all living here now. It was no big deal they were all quiet and very nice to visit with. Just be warned on a holiday there are not that many spots to get so camping spots will go FAST. Also. We rented one of the pontoon boats that had a slide on it. Our grandkids had a blast the staff at the Marina were incredible.
