I would not recommend doing business with Joe Cooper CDJR Shawnee. Not much has gone right with the purchase. I have been trying to cancel the GAP insurance and warranty package for almost a month.It has been one failed attempt after another. From the finance team not doing anything at all with the request to them "sending the paperwork to wrong address " . Of course I did not get the advertised price and in fact the internet price of the went down another $1500, and I didn't get that discount either. I should have walked away from the deal but I drove 3 hours. The interest rate ended up being way higher than they told me it would be. Bought a "CERTIFIED" used 2021 Jeep Compass in June 2024. We only got 7300 miles out if it before a $15,000 repair! First issue was promised price was not honored after we drove 45 min to them. Then immediately after purchasing I realized two of the tires were BALD, one of the seat belts was not working on there was an issue with the speedometer not functioning properly. Sales guy told me they were not going to fix any of the problems even though it was "certified". Did a review here and then they wanted to remedy the issues. Second issue, didn't receive the title until MARCH of 2025. After going around and around with their finance department about it for 6 months I had to file a complaint with the state and eventually got it two months later. The entire time I was throwing money away for insurance for a car I could not drive. Third issue, finally got the registration and drove the car for 7300 miles in total and the TRANSMISSION cooler went out. $15,000 repair. The shop said the fluid looked like sludge there's no way it had ever been changed let alone any repairs been done before we bought it "certified". I do not recommend this dealership or any by the same owner this has been a NIGHTMARE of an experience. I've basically paid insurance fees for 8 months for a car that couldn't be driven and now a $15,000 repair (could buy a new car for this) on a car that was supposed to have been certified which they said that only guarantees 3000 miles/3 months. I couldn't drive it until 8 months in and come on 7300 miles until a major repair on a certified pre owned 2021 Jeep with less than 80k miles on it???? I had an absolutely terrible experience with this dealership. I found a vehicle I was ready to purchase, went through the entire process of getting my credit checked, got approved for financing, and even bought a flight to pick it up.... only for them to turn around and sell it to someone else. No communication, no professionalism, and a complete disregard for my time and money. If this is how they do business, I'd hate to see how they handle customers after a sale. If you want to buy from a dealer that will flat out lie to you, and not honor their agreement after accepting a deposit- this is the place for you!!! What a sh*t show. Found new Jeep. Made deal online. PAID full requested deposit by credit card. Jeep in make ready for pickup next day. Received call 6 hours later. Another sales manager sold the Jeep I had a deposit on to another customer that came in later after my deposit was taken. I talked with my salesman. He apologized multiple times saying it was out of his hands- and that he wasn't happy either. My salesman stated- a different sales manager was aware the vehicle had a deposit and did not care- selling it to someone else that was in store. They really should make it possible to leave 0 stars! These were our 5th & 6th vehicles from a dealership, first from Joe Cooper, (one used & one new) & without a doubt the worst dealer experience I've ever had. From the begging our sale was made based on dishonestly & distrust. I was told no payments for 90 days, payments started straight away, I was told my Ttl would be about $1500 combined, it was nearly double, I was told that a trade would be available around 6 months without a doubt, it's 1 month short of a year & I still have it. When I asked if anything could be done, I was told by our salesman that I had to make my review higher otherwise they couldn't help me? After changing my review to their liking, I was told multiple times by multiple people that "we're gonna make things right" that apparently ment a $3000 check, & more dead ends. I eventually got to sit down with the Sales manager & by the end of our conversations was told "some people make good decisions & some people make bad decisions" the only decision we made was trusting the sales team at Joe Cooper.... read more

Spent the day working to get pricing for a truck. Had given many details and parameters for pricing. Salesman said he would get back to me. After more than 3 hours, he finally responded. I informed him I wanted to buy the vehicle and he agreed to meet the next day to complete the paperwork. Received a call the night before the meeting saying the truck was sold to somebody else. Asked why he didn't hold it, and was told he needed a deposit. I informed him he never asked for a deposit. He apologized and said his mistake. Asked about other vehicles on the lot and was told there were no others fitting my request and price point. I thought Joe Cooper might run a tighter ship. Sorry his team is so sloppy and irresponsible. You may want to consider other dealerships before going to Cooper. Don't be misled by the low prices. read more

My husband needed to replace his 15 year old sedan. He wanted something bigger and more comfortable, so we looked at Jeep Cherokees on several dealer sites. After a disastrous attempt to buy the vehicle from David Stanley, they refused to sell us the vehicle we asked about and the vehicle they tried to switch us to, which ran out of gas on the test drive because we complained - so, we called Joe Cooper CJDR. They had a similar vehicle, they got us financed at a great rate. Tristan even made sure the tank on the vehicle was filled before we arrived for a test drive. When I need a car in about 5 years, I'll shop Joe Cooper first. read more

was a victim of deceptive business practices at Joe Cooper Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Morgan Penttigrew - Sales J. Towsend and Lane King - Finance I contacted Moe Pettigrew about a 2022 Jeep Gladiator they had advertised for $41,714 ( item #1 ). I told him that I was going to finance with my own credit union. Once I told him that, he said the price would be $2,000 more, due to the fact that Chrysler Capitol was offering a rebate if financed with them. He then sent me a purchase order ( item #2 ) on 4/23/2022 to present to my credit union showing the price of $43,714. I then decided to go ahead with Chrysler Capitol financing in order to take advantage of the extra $2,000. They then sent me another purchase order ( item #3 ) on 4/25/2022 showing the advertised price. At that time I notified J. Towsend , the finance person at the dealership that was handling the financing approval, that I wanted to go with Chrysler Capitol financing, in order to take advantage of the $2,000 rebate. I went to the Chrysler Capitol web site and applied for the financing. Chrysler Capitol sent me an approval ( item #4) for $38,407. Unfortunately, upon filling out the application, I mistakenly entered a wrong amount for my income so the dealership declined it. I reapplied to Chrysler Capitol and added my Daughter, Tara Nyikos, to the application and we were approved ( item #5 ) for $64,484. On May 4, I sent J. Towsend ( item #6 ) an email stating " Tara primary and Michael as co-sign. " along with a copy of the $64,484 approval document from Chrysler Capitol. I also sent J. Towsend my income verification as requested as did my daughter. On May 6, I received a text to my cell phone saying " We are unable to get you approved for more than $30,000, " I replied to them asking if that was with Chrysler Capitol but got no response. I was confused because according the the email from Chrysler Capitol, we were approved for $64,484. At that time, I was notified that I would need to provide the balance of the purchase amount, which was just over $12,000. I provided my credit card number and they were able to secure $5,000. They said I would need to bring the remaining $7,000 plus in cash when I came to pick up the vehicle. On multiple occasions, I instructed J. Towsend and our sales person, Morgan Pettigrew that I wanted my daughter as the primary and myself as the co-buyer and we wanted to go with Chrysler Capitol for the financing. Once we arrived at the dealership on May 11, we were assisted by a finance person named Lane King. Upon sitting down with Lane in his office, he presented me with finance papers from Ally Financial which only listed my name on the contract. I was shocked and upset. When I questioned him as to why the finance was not with Chrysler Capitol as I requested, he stated that they were able to get a better rate. Which I didn't believe. I asked him about the $2,000 rebate from Chrysler Capitol. He stated that they were able to still give me the $2,000 rebate. None of this was discussed with me prior to arriving at the dealership and I never gave my approval for the financing with Ally Financial. Being that I flew in from Michigan and my Daughter flew in from Colorado, I had no choice but to continue on with the purchase. And I think they knew that. During the paperwork signing process, Lane offered a full extended warranty for more than $9,000 which I declined. He then offered a Tire and Wheel Protection Plan for $1373 and a Partial Extended Warranty for $3,692. I agreed to those and he added those to the contract. My Issues: 1. Since I was only approved for $30,000. how would Lane be able to add over $9,000 to the loan, for the Extended Warranty, that he offered me ? He did add $5,065 to the loan for the plans I agreed to purchase. I have since requested those plans to be cancelled. If the approval had been for as an example, $40,000, I would have not had to come up with the large down and use my high rate credit card as payment. 2. I suspect that I was approved for more than $30,000 but, in order for the dealership to add on extras such as the extended warranties, I was not told the true approval amount. 3. I don't believe there was ever a $2,000 rebate and nothing I could find on the Jeep's website mentioned any rebate for financing with Chrysler Capitol. 4. I believe that, if they would have been honest with me, I would have been able to get a better finance rate with my credit union vs Ally Financial, would not had to provide the $10,000 payment and would not have to wait the 2 1/2 weeks, while they attempted to secure financing from several lenders which actually negatively affected my credit score. Summary: I believe J. Towsend and Lane King intended to keep the financing in-house in order to increase the dealership's profits and thus performed deceptive business practices at my expense. This was the worst service ever. When told how much it would be for diagnostic fee they changed the price on us 3 times making it higher. They also changed the price to fix my truck 3 different times to a higher price and no reason why. Also the part to fix my truck was triple then what they said it would be. Thank God I was able to get the part some where else with a lifetime warranty for cheaper since their part only had a 2 year warranty. Then we got charged a misc. $75 fee. Was also listed on our paper work they did a complementary car wash that they did not do. I won't be back and I will make sure everyone I talk to doesn't go their either. read more

I waited a while to write this review to see if anyone took the initiative to reach out and make things right. Since that has not happened, here is why you should consider NOT purchasing a vehicle from them. My salesperson was pleasant enough but failed to disclose several things throughout the purchase process, and then failed to follow up on the after sale. I don't normally purchase used vehicles, but I was promised that this vehicle was "Certified Pre-Owned". I asked if the necessary service was done to this vehicle for the mileage, and was assured that it was done as part of this "certified process". Long story short, it was not. None of the recommended maintenance was done to this vehicle at the intervals it called for. The second thing was that I had pointed out that the tires needed to be replaced as they were in poor condition. I was told that they wouldn't replace them because of the "heck of a deal I was getting on this truck". Side note, I found the same exact truck with half the miles at a dealership in Texas the very next week at the same price. I was told that they would sell me tires at cost, which was higher than I could get them for. Another action item that I was promised was an oil change and alignment. They did end up sending me a check for less than what it cost to have done. It took almost THREE months to get my title. The last time that they had to send me another temp tag, I couldn't drive for two days because I had to wait for it to get to my house even though I warned them that it was about to expire. The person that I talked to on the phone promised me that it would be sent out, but I ended up having to call back because the message apparently wasn't passed on. Each time I called, I was treated like it was an inconvenience, and it was a "Oh, it's THAT guy" mentality. Another thing that they failed to do was to ensure a tire jack and tools were in my truck. I admit that I didn't check because I thought I could trust them because of this "Pre-Owned Certified" status they kept bragging about. When I called about it, I was told pretty much, tough luck. So I now have a spare that I can't access. The final straw was today when I tried my 4WD and it failed immediately when I needed it. I went to check on the extended warranty that I had paid for and was told that it was expired. (I had called in because they failed to include the warranty paperwork when I bought the truck). Finally someone found it while I waited on the phone and got to hear a conversation about caramel-flavored coffee or something, which extended the time to get the relevant information that I needed. All in all, this has been the worst experience I have ever had with a RAM dealership. It was pushed on me multiple times while I was there what a huge favor they were doing me because of my credit score. ( My trucking company was a casualty of COVID, and it wasn't really a favor as I found out, the lender I previously had told me the next week they would have financed it at a much lower rate, but the dealer was getting a kickback on the lender in this case). As a final word of advise if you do choose to do business with this dealership, check EVERYTHING on any used vehicle.Update: I was asked to contact their GM Jason Valentine about my review on Google, but he's ignoring my attempts to reach them. He's always "unavailable" when I call back to see if they forgot about me or something. I took my truck to another dealership to diagnose what was wrong with my 4WD and to get the recall taken care of which they didn't do when it was sold to me. They found that the entire front end was pretty much toasted and was probably a known issue when it was sold because the tech told me it was pretty obvious that even a blind man could see it. We're up to an extreme cost in parts alone right now. I've filed a formal complaint against them with two agencies and will be contacting the mediator per the contract signed. read more

Supposedly they do a 150 point inspection on used vehicles and bring the vehicles to high standards. My vehicle had a messed up axle, slipping transmission, extremely dirty air and cabin filter. Like gunk was behind the air filter getting in the engine. I went to speak to Jason Valentine the gm over the dodge dealership. Let me tell you never hire a used car salesman as a general manager. I felt like I was talking to another shady salesman. For one, he never called me back so we had to go up there and then when he knew he had disgruntled customers he left us waiting while he shot the crap with some guy in the dealership room..we waited over 30 minutes watching this guy make no effort to get to us. Then as I was explaining the situation he just filled the air full of it. Admitted they messed up but wouldn't as so much apologize. Tried to tell me they don't do full checks on more mileaged vehicles.... so you check the newer ones but the older ones that really need it apperantly they just ignore them...You ask him a question his answer is yes and no.... that's not an answer. He said he has something busy going on that day and he could help us the next day where as you could see his wife over there waiting on him for lunch. Apperantly lunch with his wife is more important than dealing with disgruntled customers. He also insulted my wife calling her emotional. That's not your place especially when dealing when disgruntled customers. He also lied when I asked him who the district manager was. He gave me a name so i contacted the dealership in edmond asking them how i get a hold of him/her. They said there is no district manager and will have corporate get a hold of me. Like literally jason valentines employees where  more sorry than he was. The next day I told him I would be in around 11 and he said yea just ask for me so I got up there about 11:30 and he was "in a meeting". So I came back like they said around 1. He said did you want to deal with corporate or me? I said I'll see what you have to offer. (That way i can inform corporate on that as well). He told me corporate would say the same thing... (I'm not just calling corporate to try and make it right but I am also reporting you). He showed me 4 vehicles he would trade out for me. Keep in mind I put a very large down-payment on this vehicle. All those vehicles he wanted to trade I would lose out 4,000 dollars and they were trash... not to mention these vehicles were only in the dodge parking lot. He had two more dealerships right in front of him and they say they can pull from any cooper dealership in oklahoma and this is what he offers me....If it isn't making money he doesn't want anything to do with it. Asolutely terrible manager and extremely shady place. Oh and I have to pay for the transmission flush too. DO NOT BUY FROM JOE COOPER PERIOD!!! read more
