So last weekend I saw myself having a nice cup of latte while waiting for someone to join me a visit to JQ. I always thought that Moor Street Station itself is stunning but with a tiny gorgeous place like this, it makes your coffee time much more appreciative! I just loved Centenary Lounge menu as well. Cakes that are impossible to resist and I didn't say no to a sweet treat. So, a Cranberries kind of tiffin, it was. Really delicious. For being a bit small, I thought the tables were too near to each other and there was no much room for elbows. As well as it is busy all the time, it makes me believe that during the summer or in a better weather we all would prefer sitting outside. Well, there is something else about watching people coming and going from train stations. Not in a weird way, of course! I had no idea that Centenary Lounge also serves drinks and it is good to know that is is famous for it as well. I also love the decor that really adds to the whole beauty in the station.

The cafe is inspired by the glamour of the Great Western Railway's heyday. The china plates and cups come emblazoned with the GWR insignia. There is a mirrored bar and abundant wood panelling. The clock and light fittings scream 1930s elegance. They serve good hot drinks as well as a bistro-style menu of hot and cold food. You can get food and drink to go, but why not eat in and soak up the gilded age glamour?

The building itself is part of the Old Crown pub which believe is one of the oldest pubs in the city. The low ceilings and stained glass windows make it so cosy and packed full of charm. Myself and a friend went for soya flat white's (very hipster I know but she is from Brighton......) and a couple of items from the very reasonably priced sharing menu. For food we had a sharing portion of wings and a black pudding scotch egg. Both were SO good, very fresh and generally amazing. Another one for the to-do list of you haven't already! This place is a real find.

Despite my continuing suspicion of why there's a wall in the place between the 2 still bizarres me. The sandwich and juice bar is fantastic. The first time I visited the banh mi was 5/5 with the pork being seasoned to perfection in addition to the crispy bread and salad. This time round, I was able to enjoy the massive beef brisket and melted cheese, I feel so full just thinking about it. If you're able to visit during a good time, you should also try the salads too with your sandwich, it is mixed everyday so it is lottery at what's available. My most memorable so far will always be with sriracha slaw, not too spicy and not too creamy but very crunchy and flavoursome. Next comes the drinks bar, served with the most amazing selection of cakes. The drinks bar offer a great selection of coffee and teas, to which my delight they serve dragon well! At the time I'm writing this review I have a packed peanut butter cookie on the go, however I'm very confident it will taste amazing having seen them made it live before. Faculty maybe small but do not underestimate it! It is the David vs Goliath(s) of tea coffee shops. Would visit again!

A small flat white and small cappuccino for £6 total is a rare find these days and we both loved our drinks. So much flavour and nice, strong coffee. My only reason for giving 4 stars is that the layout was a bit cramped and it was slightly lacking in customer service. If you're just popping in for a takeaway coffee though, this is a fab spot.

Located right opposite the swimming baths and gym, I always end up having a brew before a gym session. Being this side of Harborne, works to Boo Boo's advantage as you don't have to take a walk down the High Street which can seem like a mammoth task on a Sunday morning! Every time I have been in, it has been very busy. With a couple of outside tables and a massive window, it's great when the sun is shining on us. The Coffee is most excellent because they use Allpress espresso beans from London which gives their drinks a massive edge over most places some places in Birmingham. Single origin is offered though a Chemex, another brew method not often seen in the second city. If Coffee and Tea isn't your bag then I can recommend one of the many smothies they offer, which can have protein added to them. Boo Boo coffee is very family friendly and you can pop your little ones in the play area they provide. This place has been come a favourite place of mine to have some alone time or catch up with friends. Sure you will love it!

The shop is small and quirky. They do accept reservations so if you are going to visit with friends it's worth booking ahead. There's some seating outside too. The coffee served here is excellent. I couldn't see anywhere advertising the sort of beans or specifics used. The coffee does stand shoulder to shoulder with some of the best in Birmingham though. The store also serves typical brunch which is available all day long. If your looking for a quick coffee or some brunch in harborne I would highly recommend it here!

It's difficult to pin point why these kebabs are so much better than all the other kebabs in a city that's generally knee deep in reconstituted pillars of meat , but the quality of the meat is definitely much better here, and the delicious nans that hold them together definitely help a lot. The price is higher than virtually every other kebab in the city, but the quality has totally justified the higher price every time in my opinion, and it still works out cheaper than a curry. They serve curries, burgers and other stuff like that but I've never tried any of those because I've been too busy eating chicken kebab. I'm sure the other dishes are good though. Oh, and did I mention that the kebabs are really good?

However it was served on a long and thin plate, which was 100% form over function as it clattered into the adjacent plates when I tried to eat from it. Or, which I think is probably more fitting, perhaps Costa was full, Starbucks was too far away, they didn't know about the other quiet little coffee & cake places (near the Council House entrance to Touchwood, for example) and, well, the money in their pocket was equal to or greater than the thing they wanted to put in their mouth, so they just sat down and did what they wanted to. The environment is noisy (it's slapped in the main junction of the two main arteries of Touchwood, so that's a given), the product is only slightly above average, and the service isn't anything to write home about. The staff were lovely and make things up fresh so I had a yummy pulled pork panini (not too sweet or vinegary) with slaw and crisps and salad plus my coffee for £4.95. My food arrived in under 5 minutes. Don't be fooled by the picture. There was a whole panini, I just couldn't wait and ate half instantly. I will most likely nip in here again next time I shop. Probably for wafflea and a belgian chocolate mocha when I am already fat from Christmas.
