We first walked into the shop to looking into a cake for my daughter's quince. Her whole thing was she wanted everything to be whimsy. We saw quickly we walked into the right place for that. The tasty treats behind the glass looked so fresh & whimsical. We showed Ania a picture of the cake my daughter had in mind & she said (straight forward), "Oo... that's a lot of hand drawing detail (see picture of example below)", & let me know what to expect price wise. She had cupcakes out of the flavors we're thinking of & we bought all 3, chocolate, vanilla, & strawberry (which is rare because it was the cake would be strawberry, not the filling), plus a Spider-Man pan Dulce/concha. My daughter ate the concha right there & was in love. She said it was the best concha she's ever had. We waited to eat them for after we ate dinner that day, but we didn't know until that night that we caught something from another family memeber. We weren't feeling well for a couple days, & never got to eat the fresh cupcakes. We HAD to go back because that concha was so good. We go back to the shop about a week later, this time with hubby. We bought the 3 cupcakes again, plus a red velvet and a carrot cake cupcake. We sampled all of them while we were still there. EVERYTHING tasted amazing. EVERYTHING! I love red velvet, but a lot of places make it too dry or something is off with the frosting & it doesn't turn out the best. Theirs is amazing! Just the right flavors of everything in it & perfect moistness. We couldn't wait to try the cake for my daughter's quince and knew the cake wouldn't necessarily look identical to the inspo picture, but were confident they'd decorate it beautifully. The picture we showed them had 4 tiers, but we only wanted 3. We chose the strawberry cake with Nutella filling, chocolate cake with cookies and cream filling, and the vanilla with Nutella filling also. Ania said "Trust me, I know strawberry with Nutella sounds strange, but it'll be great." So glad we trusted her. It was FIRE! The whole cake was gorgeous & tasted ridiculously amazing. So glad we found Mad Kakes! Thank you Ania & your husband (sorry I don't rember his name) for being a big part of making our daughter's day so special. That cake was all the whimsy she wanted & more.

I emailed and called multiple times and didn't receive a response until I continued following up. During my last phone call, I was told that they simply "forgot" about me. What was most disappointing was that there was no apology for their lack of service. It sucks because I really wanted to order a custom cake for my wedding and possibly look into other treats as well. Unfortunately, this experience made me decide to look elsewhere. I would recommend checking out other local bakeries that are more consistent with communication and follow up Definitely a missed opportunity for them.
