We live nearby and this is our go to spot. It's extremely clean and well lit and, more importantly, the staff is super friendly and provide incredible customer service. They have a great variety of basic grocery essentials and, while I don't know their provider, the bagels are uh-mazing (we usually buy 1/2 dozen at a time just to have at home). The sandwiches are always perfectly made and well portioned for leftovers or sharing. In addition to the wonderful everyday service they provide on the regular, our shopping trips here during Quarintine have brought a bit of sunshine into these dreary days. read more

I've been coming here every day for 3 years! This is my breakfast and/or lunch spot when I'm at work at FT Wadsworth. Willie is the owner and is one of the friendliest people I know! The staff is great to talk to and the food is fresh! The home made chicken cutlets are great and if your a regular they even let you name your sandwich and put it on the menu. This place is worth the stop and they just opened up a great pizza shop two doors down. The pastrami and egg wrap is the best for breakfast. read more

great place. Really what you expect from a deli. its got everything, and it really has that small town community feel. I live near it and usually go there to get the paper or buy milk and eggs. the staff always know you and you can often find them havinf discussions with other patrons as well. nowadays less than before, but you used to get a few of the older crowd gathering at the table at the entrance. And if you look closely you can see a lot of old photos, some of the location as far back as the 19th century, and then some with patrons. I mean, I dont know what else you can really say about a deli, it's good. Being near the coast guard station is also nice, they get lots of business from the coast guards read more

I'm a visitor to the area and was pleasantly surprised by the friendly, helpful attitude of the owner, Willie. He's more than happy to help, even it puts him out. We were trying to figure out the best way to get to The Staten Island Ferry and had been told to take the bus by our hostess. I think we were supposed to buy some sort of transit card in the deli, but since we were only visiting for a day I asked Willie if the bus would take cash. He said that they only took coins and had no problem providing us both with the required change. While we waited we enjoyed delicious breakfast sandwiches and coffee. It was bitterly cold that day and there's a handy seating area at the front of the store. Many business owners might have said something like "I can't spare the change, sorry", but not Willie. He was happy to make sure we had the change for the bus and when we returned the following day for more sandwiches and coffee, he not only remembered us, but chatted to us at length and made sure we tried a different sandwich. read more

I'm a southern girl from North Carolina! I love my bacon egg and chese biscuits and when I took a trip to NY to visit my Coastie brother he introduced me to Joanns bacon egg and cheese on a roll!!! HEAVEN!!! Joann's now has a great reputation in Lake Norman NC! I loved the atmosphere and the staff! Nice to meet such friendly folks up North! So I literally just came back from this deli and gotten a 14 oz tub of Haagen Dazs ice cream... something told me to be weary because most delis that are crooks (that don't care) ...will let their ice cream sit there and get freezer burnt. However I usually had a good experience with them and thought they were professional enough to check and not do that. I am also 8 months pregnant and all I wanted was some ice cream to curb my cravings after a long day. The ice cream was $4.90. I go home and open it to find the WHOLE THING CRUNCHY with ice shards. I knew that they probably wouldn't give me a refund cause something about the look on that man at the front desk face screams "stubborn and mean when it comes to money". So I tried to shave some of (ended up being a ton I shaved off) then nuke it in the microwave a bit... Now it's like Ice Sheet soup. MY FAVORITE ICE CREAM TOO ;( I called the Deli up cause honestly I'm hella mad, that's 4.90 I could of bought something better and I'm crunched for money as it is since I am pregnant and babies are not cheap. (Ruined my night). When I called and explained the terrible condition the ice cream is in the same man answered and swore in a sarcastic tone" we just got this Ice Cream in, sorry I can't help you" .... I doubt it, you know why ? My Husband is a delivery person for a company that they order from and he knows they don't get a lot of Ice Cream orders each week... regardless if its a long time or not the ice cream will be freezer burnt under bad circumstances. So disappointed with the lack of customer service or sympathy. Guarantee you there will be more customers purchasing that ice cream and essentially wasting their money. Thieves ! read more
