With three teeth in hand, we called the after hours number and Dr. DuHamel agreed to meet us at his office. He and an assistant spent a couple hours of their day off putting my son's teeth back in. Since then we've been back for followup appts, general cleaning appts and have been very well taken care of each time. Background: I had a dental emergency at a time when I was in between quality insurance through my job. The dental options provided during this time included what I considered to be chop shop services whereas they suggested removing teeth instead of focusing on saving them. I worried this was because the dentist gets paid for extractions and it's a quicker more profitable procedure they could offer. After being told, I would need to teeth removed, I went to La Contenta Dental in Valley Springs, a recommended office from another source, for a consultation for a 2nd option. From the calling about the consultation to my most recent appointment, Dr Hu and his entire staff have been very helpful, informative and professional. They helped me figure out how my insurance benefits work and what type of orthodontia worked the best for me. During the pandemic I found myself running out of bands and they were able to send me some through the mail. The whole experience has been the best I could hope for. I even have my daughter coming to see Dr Hu. She's been in braces for about 5 years now. After we moved from the East Coast, I went with another orthodontist first and regretted it right away. After only one visit, Dr Hu has been able to help her out (she has a very difficult problem) and we've gotten more from her visits with Dr Hu than we did with any previous orthodontist. I have also taken my 10 year old to see Dr Hu for a consultation. Since we are in the pre-orthodontia stage, this was merely for getting a game plan together since we know my son is going to need them.
