Dr. Groats' team is great! Less than 5 minute wait in the lobby. Staff is very friendly and so are the hygienists. Very thorough and patient with explaining the process. Latest x-ray equipment. Dr. Groat has a very nice demeanor and takes care of his patients. read more

Dr Groat is a very competent dentist, however when my regular dentist announced his retirement and referred me to Dr Groat, Dr Groat's office told me they no longer take Delta Dental. Delta Dental said Dr Groat is on their list of dentists. So, why is he still on the Delta Dental list? This is all very shady. I know insurance companies suck, but get off the referral list. Makes Dr Groat look very bad in his business practices. read more

I had an emergency and Dr. Groat was the only one who immediately offered help. Yes, I had to wait to get his attention (not a problem at all since his staff was extremely friendly and tried to do everything to make me happy) but from what I was able to see at his office - they really care for their patients. This office is BUSY, but it looks that Dr. Groat was able to make it work like the Ford assembly line. My overall experience is more then good, I never expected to see such level of attention for the literally walk-in patient. Not to mention - even with the fact that he spent with me not so much time, he is radiating the trust around him, like the good doctors do. A+++ read more

WORST DENTIST EVER! My poor husband suffered in pain for two weeks because they forgot to take the retraction cord out of his mouth when they fitted him for a crown. This caused an infection which required antibiotics. It can also cause permanent tissue damage. Dr. Groat also lied about how may pieces of cord he used. My husband pulled the second cord out (AFTER Groat said he only used one) before he went back only to find out he also got an infection due to their negligence. Groat never even admitted fault or apologized. He's rough too. My husband has a permanent jaw popping because this guy just doesn't care how he handles patients. I'm livid! read more

Overall I do not have a strong negative impression of the office. I feel the staff is professional and friendly. The average rating really goes against Dr. Groat. He was very impatient and rough. Even more, the work he had completed was very poor. Fortunately, i have been able to find another more compassionate and professional dental on the other side of town. read more

Been going to Dr Groat for a couple years but, just needed routine cleaning and check ups, outstanding hygienists. I had some pain in a lower molar, not bad just a little. Dr Groat told me I needed a crown. When he did the procedure he went at it like he was killing snakes and large chunks of my tooth started coming off. I was in a lot of pain and when i returned to get the permanent crown put on the tooth was so bad that when it was sprayed with air the pain was excruciating, he put the crown on anyway. The pain continued and when i went back in he said i needed a root canal (and he didn't do them), he was VERY rough in my mouth and tossed my head around like he was mad, had a bad attitude and was rude. He referred me to an out of network specialist that wanted $1500.00 to do the root canal ! I have found a real dentist that performed the root canal and repaired the damage. Dr Grout botched the crown, couldn't fix it and charged me 2.5 times what the copay should have been for an in network dentist. My copay for the root canal was 40% of was Grout charged me for the copay on the crown ! I heard the guy in the chair next to me complaining about the same thing last time I was in there. Do yourself a favor and find a good dentist. read more

This office was great and Dr. groat was filled with explanations and very calming. His staff is polite, fun, and very professional. The Hygienist is comforting, fast, and thorough. Dr. Groat and his staff are THE BEST around. They are very knowledgeable, they get right to the heart of the issue and fix it the the utmost care to the patients needs. I have been seeing the staff of this office for almost 20 years now. I drive an hour and a half from the valley up to see them. The doctor has a very gentle way and is concerned for my welfare and comfort while I am in his care. The rest of the staff is wonderful. They are pleasant, helpful and they make it a fun and stress free environment. They handle all the billing with ease. They make it an enjoyable experience going to the dentist. He is the worst dentist I ever see,he admitted his mistake but he will not take responsibility to fix it, my wife went to him, he did X-rays for her teeth, and start working on them,their is I tooth with cavity, he treated 4 months after the X-ray, and did the permenant filling, then my wife continuously complaining of pain, then we went back to him,and I told him that he should repeat the X-ray even before he start working on the tooth, but he refused, and at the third time we back to him he finally did the X-ray and found out that the cavity already hit the nerves, and now need root canal,then I asked to fix the problem in his own expense since it's his fault to treat tooth with cavity 4 months after the X-ray without repeating the X-ray ,he said "yes I should repeat the X-ray, and this is a mistake, but her tooth is her responsibility,not mine", What a stupid answer from a doctor, then I told him, yes it's her responsibility that's why she came to you, then when my wife saw another doctor, the other doctor said that the initial X-ray for the tooth (now 5 months ago) showed that the cavity was so close to the nerve at that time and should be treated at the time of the X-ray, so it cost me $1500, to fix his mistake. Be carful from this doctor, he will be rude even it's clear it's his mistake. read more

I had been going to this dentist for about a year for routine cleanings without any issue. The dental hygienist is efficient and friendly. However, the last time I went in for a cleaning turned into a nightmare. I was told I had a "surface cavity" on one of my molars and I needed to schedule another appointment to get it filled. I went back and had the cavity filled. I hadn't felt any pain before, but after the filling, every time I bit down and then released, I was experiencing shooting pain. I returned and Dr. Groat said they needed to adjust the "bite," which they did (twice). I returned home and experienced the same pain for the next two weeks. I returned and Dr. Groat said they needed to pull the filling out as it appeared that I had a cracked molar and that I would need a crown and then began discussing the situation with the hygienist as if I wasn't there. Dr. Groat acted like the entire situation was no big deal and seemed to be glossing over the issue. I interrupted him and said, "So you're telling me, I came in with a surface cavity and now I have a cracked molar????" He agreed that was the case and then told me that I was being "combative." I responded, "I'm not being combative, I am voicing a legitimate concern that you cracked my molar and you're not even taking any personal ownership for the situation." He assured me that he would not charge me the deductible for the crown. I couldn't afford to go elsewhere and pay another dentist to fix Dr. Groat's error, so I returned to have the crown put in. The crown was put on and the pain continued. I returned to Dr. Groat's office once again for him to tell me that I needed a root canal. I was referred to a dentist that does root canals. My tooth still hurt for months after the procedure. I never even received a follow up phone call, let alone an apology. In fact, all I got was a lot of pain caused by a dentist that is indifferent, unethical and arrogant. DO NOT go to Dr. Groat. read more
