A hidden gem in Okotoks. Handily beats many high end restaurants in the City of Calgary. Exquisite…read morefood. I had the filet mignon and the cut of meat was exceptional and cooked to exactly how I had requested. Seasoned perfectly. My first time trying succotash, I must say that I am a fan. Our server mentioned that he was fairly new and it showed. His presence and attention was a little off, Had to ask others for drink refills and no one came around asking how our food was after it was served. Good thing that it was amazing. The only other mark was that even though they had some AC units, they didn't seem powerful enough to cool the building and it was very hot in there. Also, there back staff door to the outside was used quite a bit and we found it distracting because every time it was opened, full sunlight would shine in and fully light up a room they were trying to keep dim. It was almost disorientating and was frequent. Outside all of that, we will absolutely visit again.

I used my gift card on a cup cake as seen in the photos that I took of it! They are all about being gluten free and egg free but I never really notice them being concerned with being lactose free. I have more money on my gift card so I'm hoping to go for breakfast there one morning soon!

I am a huge fan of Brown Sugar. I can only really speak to their cupcakes but that's because I…read morecan't resist buying them every time I'm near Brown Sugar. Their selection of cupcake flavours is always interesting and allows you to choose a selection to bring home with you. My favourite part of the cupcake is (obviously) the icing and Brown Sugar has some of the best. They also do a gluten-free option for a cupcake and it is a quite impressive feat to create such a moist and tasty GF cupcake. If you enjoy cupcakes, you have to grab some from Brown Sugar on your way by!

Lovely little bakery with plenty of charm and great eats. My husband and I were in town for a…read morewedding and had breakfast on the patio back to back over the weekend with our pup (it's dog friendly) and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The one thing I would say stood out enough to detract from a 5-star experience was an overall lack of service. You order inside and they bring your food to you, but service is slow, and both days we noticed that the staff don't really engage patrons unless spoken to first. This can make it very hard to figure out exactly how to order, if seating is self-service (it is), etc. it was insanely hot when we visited, for example, and while one day we were able to get larger glasses for water, the next they refused to give anything larger than a glorified shot glass...despite serving our mimosas in the same larger glasses. Overall it just read of a young team that was slightly disconnected and not overly concerned with customer experience, and that's something that made things take longer than necessary and put a slight damper on an overall wonderful experience.
