I say be persistent as I just followed up until I would hear from him as sometimes it would be days and I had no idea what stage the project was in BUT they are busy, Steve apologized and there was a point he was on vacation that I was not aware of nor told by the office staff so this contributed to the delay in communication. What actually happened: I accepted the offer, simply paid my deposit and scheduled a time for them to start. They started within a week of the deposit after calling and emailing to confirm what worked best for me. They tore down the existing fence and all the vegetation attached to it and built the new fence all in less than 24 hours! Fence looks great! Communication was great! Pricing was great!

I told him I'd be in touch. And I did stay in touch. I called the company phone casually over the next few months and even reached out to the owner (his cell phone that he shared w/ me) a couple of times. Figured the pandemic was affecting business and gave them some grace. Then I called again and left a message. No reply. My husband called and left a message. No reply. As a last resort, I sent an email and no answer. For kicks, I checked their Google reviews and saw reviews posted by clients one or two months ago for a project. My honest reaction: WTF? Confusing. Annoyed. Terrible customer service--especially for repeat customers.

He figured out really quickly my neighbors' fence was sitting askew on their lot line, which didn't impact what I planned to do, but was good to know. None of the other bidders caught that. Jim also came out on the day of install, introduced me to the installers, and double checked that everything was planned correctly.
