My friend and i went to jn Nails in Elk Grove to get our Christmas nails and pedicure done. We picked this place from an Instagram ad. We made the appointment which was very easy, convenient and very fast communication. We walked in were welcomed by smiling faces our pedicure stations were ready. Leno and Danny did my pedi and full set and Anna and another staff member worked on my friends nails. Our hands and feet nails and nail designs came out so nice. Pls look at the pics below. The quality of designs and colors we picked came out very nice. They did such a good job. The studio is clean and well designed. When I walked in you immediately told chair 1 that I used to go there and left to follow a nail tech that used to work at your shop. You are unprofessional and refused to service me since in your eyes I am no longer a "loyal client" none of you smiled at me and my husband when we walked in. I went to this shop long enough to feel the difference in the environment and service with you taking over. Also I already stated the fact that the set was done SOMEWHERE ELSE not at JN Nails Spa. I apologize to anyone I referred here. Edit 3: I came to have a few rhinestones replaced onto my birthday nails that were done somewhere else (rhinestones fell off due to me picking lol) since my nail tech is on vacation and was told I would need to remove each nail with the missing rhinestones and have them redone there was no way to replace the stones. It didn't sound right to me and since my nails are gelx and they do not offer gelx I declined and left. I was a loyal customer here under previous ownership and not only has the atmosphere of the salon deteriorated dramatically since the new owner changes but so has the friendly service. After moving to Sacramento in 2015, I had a really tough time finding a great nail tech. I FINALLY found John in 2018 and he has been exceptional. I started going to him when he was at Polished, then Luxi Spa, and now, his own place! Over time, he grew in popularity (his work is amazing), but he has always made time for me. He and Helen always greet me when I arrive, accommodates me when I have to reschedule an appointment, and sometimes sends me text reminders of my appointment (I've forgotten before). Very professional. And every holiday they give me a gift, quite thoughtful! Honestly, they are like family to me. And I know I am a real stickler with how my nails look, so when I ask John about a design, he will be honest if he doesn't think it would work. For example, with big designs, I have learned from him that the nail shape should be longer. He also makes sure that the nail length for each nail matches each other. Also, let's get real, I have chubby fingers with a short nail bed, so I've learned from him/Helen that long wide coffin or medium/long skinny square shape is better for me. He always follows through with color and designs that I want. Helen does my pedicures and at times has done my nails. I've never ever had an issue with how they look. She is meticulous and a perfectionist. I'm always happy with the work. There is a lot of added stress with owning your own business. This is John's first big venture, and he has had his fair of challenges, even more so that English is his second language. Things tend to get misinterpreted and lost in translation and I've witnessed it first hand. He's been scammed before, he's had PLENTY of no shows, difficult/demanding first time customers, and last minute cancellations, so it is only natural for him to be super clear about his expectations (policies are in his IG, fyi)-- he is worried about keeping his business afloat. John always wants to do right by his clients. I wouldn't be with him as long as I have been if he wasn't genuine. Great experience here at JN nails! I called the day of on a Saturday and they were able to fit me in the same afternoon! There was no wait when I entered, and everyone was really nice and welcoming. Didn't get to catch my nail tech's name, but she was very careful with my nails and paid attention to every detail. I stopped in for a pedicure on a Saturday afternoon and was promptly seated...the color selections were limited but I sometimes think its better when you dont have a million choices, so I didnt mind. I got the most expensive pedicure and it was good but not great. They put cucumbers on my legs which was something new for me but the massage part was nonexistent and it seemed rushed. I also didnt like how everyone was so loud when I was the only customer in there...it was hard to relax and there were no TV's and cell service is bad (but they do have complimentary wifi). I came here as my sister already made an appointment for a pedicure, given that I desperately needed one, I had her help me schedule one as well. They were able to accommodate all of us! 4 in total. This place was super clean and everyone was friendly. I got the pleasure of having John do my pedicure. The only negative thing I would say is that both of my big toe nails were trimmed a tad too short for my liking. I also thought it was different that John painted my toe nails first before doing the scrubs and lotion, but I didn't mind it as long as I got the pedicure spa experience. I have been coming to JN nails since they opened and I have received the HIGHEST QUALITY SERVICE from every technician and I have gotten nails and Pedi service from them all. My mom and autistic brother are also loyal customers and they treat him with kindness, gentleness and respect and I appreciate that SO MUCH, it's not like that everywhere. JOHN IS VERY RUDE - nice designs but horrible service. It really sucks to have to post this review, I had such high hopes. I scheduled an appointment for Thursday the 8th of September but after they pushed my time back they fully cancelled because there construction was going for longer than expected. Although I was frustrated I understood that it was out their control in a sense. I explained that if Thursday couldn't happen then all I had free was Friday evening since I worked the whole day in el dorado hills and left for a birthday trip Saturday morning. Was communicating with a young lady and she assured me I could be seen at 7 on the 9th of September and I believed her. However when I got there Helen let me know John was free and he could do my nails and I said that was fine. John does great designs but has the worst service I've ever experienced. After he refused to do the length I requested I agreed to do what he wanted but he got upset and cut the acrylics off my nails without me approving of it. He made me very uncomfortable and when I tried to go to Helen for my nails he then told her to leave out the back door and not help me. I was being very kind to him and appreciative of him staying late for me but he was very argumentative and eventually I called an aunt to vent and help me calm down and I was expressing how rude he was. He then began commenting to me again even after I repeatedly told him I no longer wanted to speak to him or wanted him in my space while another tech helped me removed the excess glue he so graciously left on my fingers after cutting the nails off. I left work early and drove 40minutes in traffic to make it and this was my last chance to get my nails done before my trip. The only thing this salon was successful at this evening was starting my birthday weekend out very negatively. I would love an apology but don't expect to receive one. I also sent them a picture of a design similar to what I was asking for days before the appointment so they would be aware and not surprised when I came. read more

Finally, I decided I would book an appointment with John and give him a chance. I will tell you that's a big deal because, I'm very picky about my nails.
