Day two in PEI, and so far, this is the best meal. The lobster roll makes New England (Maine/Massachusetts) look like a rip-off. Full-sized hotdog buttered buns with probably a pound of lobster meat on top. The seafood chowder... one of the best I have ever had. Definitely give this a try. So good. I regret not eating here on my first day. I would have eaten here everyday instead of just my last day. Lobster is cooked perfectly. And labor for me was minimal. Lobster was not expensive and tasted fresh. Same with oysters. Love love love!! read more

I love the interior of this Mart. Clean and well decorated with dine in options for inside and outside. Everything was so delicious, we had to come back two days in a row. We got Lobster rolls, the lobster dinner, mussels, 6 shucked oysters from their kitchen menu and got shrimp from their counter. It was my favorite tasting lobster that was perfectly cooked. This place has absolutely ruined me. My life will never be the same. The lobster here was the sweetest and most tender I've ever had. (Low key I even had lobster in Maine and Rhode Island after this and it was not as good) Service was friendly and warm. It's a no frills fish market shop and I would not have it any other way. We went fairly early in the morning and it was quiet, we had the best table by the window Lobster roll was delicious! Lobster dinner was so fun and really highlights the lobster. Shrimp cocktail 10/10. Sweet and spicy mussels were different and delicious. Oyster fresh and flavorful. I hope I get to go back in the future! read more

The fish is always fresh and their seafood chowder is amazingly rich and flavourful! If you want to you can eat inside or sit on the deck overlooking the water. Great ambiance! read more

By chance was talking to a fella that mentioned this gem of a place or I would never have stopped! This was my favourite lobster roll of my trip. JMK let the fresh lobster do the talking , the roll wasn't over seasoned like a couple spots I was at. My 1.6 lb lobster at JMK Fish mart (only $9 a pound steamed). It was so good that they don't even serve you butter. Extremely tasty, especially the claws (which are much better than the tail)! ------ Went here in July of 2014. I thought I entered the above as a review in Yelp review back then, but apparently I forgot (summers can be so busy :) ). Anyway, just came across this photo with those notes tagged to it....and, indeed I have fond memories of this day eating our gargantuan lobsters out on the waterfront. I give no guarantee that it is still $9 a pound U.S., but given that the US dollar has been on a tear from July '14 thru Jan '16, I am guessing it is even cheaper in US dollars now! This place is located right on the water in the city of Summerside, Prince Edward Island which is the second largest city on the island of Prince Edward Island with Charlottetown being the first. It is located right on the water and it is close to a water park that is located right on the ocean so it was a very nice location and cool to watch the water park, which I can't remember the name of. read more

It's scenic located bay side in the historic queens wharf area, next to a walking path. one can dine indoors and out, very friendly staff and the lobster is always fresh and mouth watering good. I couldn't say no to ordering up myself a giant lobster, in fact it might have been the biggest they had in the window. It looked to good to pass up and cost 26 bucks...cheap! this time of year it being lobster fest (July) and all. Even though the lobster was cheap all the side where an extra coast butter was $1.50 and a can of pop was a buck or two. I didn't bother with ordering any other sides I was to excited about the lobster. Not a major extra cost, but it would have been nice to have butter included and/or a drink... They did have a good selection on there menu and I'm sure one could dine there cheaper than I did. Lots of local colour hanging around this place friendly people always in a good mood. Some dinning downfalls the business hours are short 12pm-5pm. The picnic area is right in the parking lot and I did at times feel a little on edge with cars pulling in and out around me. Perhaps not the best place for eating outdoors with little running around kids, but there is an indoor sitting area. read more

Service was a tad awkward, but that's alright. If I had to say anything about this place, it's that I wish the menu was larger. There were a couple of things that they didn't have that day, and with a group of 6 people, we were really hoping to try more. That being said, what we tried was quite tasty. We got the steamed mussels with garlic ($9.10/lb), the mango curry mussels ($10.25/lb), 6 shucked oysters ($12), steamed clams with garlic ($13.25), and a lobster platter ($16.25 with potato salad). Both the mussels were good. However, most of my table struggled to distinguish the difference between the two. I'm guessing this means both the garlic flavor and the mango curry flavor need to be stronger. The mussels can take it. Add more seasoning please. I asked what kind of oysters we were getting. I was told that if it's on PEI, they'd all be the same kind. Um...okay then. One of our oysters was either small or got cut ugly, so we got 7 oysters. They were fresh. They were also haphazardly plated. Bottled lemon juice and tabasco sauce are at the table if you want to use them. The steamed clams were amazing. They were juicy and garlicy and plump and fresh and had I known they were that good, I wouldn't have ordered any mussels at all. I think this was everyone's favorite item. I think this trip has reaffirmed what I was pretty sure of going into this East Coast trip. I'm not a fan of lobster rolls. However, this one was the best out of all the ones we'd had. For one, the price wasn't ridiculous. For another, this one was big chunks of lobster meat and next to nothing else. Perhaps a tiny bit of mayo, but that's it. If I have to have a lobster roll, it'd be like this one. No filler celery. No mouthful of mayo. Pure lobster chunks. That potato salad was not bad either, but in all honesty, we got the potato salad because we figured we could do with some carbs, and those are the only ones they had on the menu. Tl;dr: Get the clams in garlic. Lobster roll if you're into that kind of stuff. read more

Best lobster roll I've had in years. The lobster was fresh and it was NOT smothered in mayo! It was straight up on a toasted roll with a squirt on may on the roll followed by a little lettuce and then straight up delicious chunks of lobster claws and tail. Absolutely scrumptious. read more

this place serves the best lobster roll I have ever had. there are 3 picnic tables outside looking out over Summerside harbour, grab one if you can before sending someone inside to order. they put a huge amount of lobster in the roll with a very light buttery dressing which allows you to really taste the lobster. we also had an order of garlic mussels which were also superb. Served in a nice broth with some wine and tomato. beautiful. only down side was no beer or wine but maybe they wouldn't mind if you drank out of a brown paper bag or koozie? all in all excellent value and taste."! Went here after visit the beautiful Bottle Houses in Wellington. Order 2 dozens oysters on half-shelled and was pleasantly surprise by the fresh tasting, slightly briny, and all goodness of the perfect sized oysters. Order one 1.75lbs already cooked lobster and found the lobster meat was soft and tasty, and not at all salty like other establishments dotted PEI coast. One can enjoy the sweet and slightly salty right out of the shell. In fact, it's good enough that we ordered another 1.25lbs lobster just to be sure the first one is not a fluke. In couple of minutes, we cleaned out that lobster also. Found out later that these folks used the own secret ingredients to boil the lobster, and not just use sea water. For some reason, we couldn't wipe the happy smiles off our faces after that fulfilling lunch! read more

Worst experience I've ever had. I arrive this shop late when it was already closed. When I wast just about to leave, a fellow working around told me one of them is the owner. I politely talked to the owner to see if he can reopen the store to sell me some lobsters. He said OK, but you have to wait me for about 15-20mins. I'm fine with that so I began to wait. 30 mins later I talked to the guy again. And guess what, he told me to wait for another hour or two. Dude, if you don't want to sell me anything, you could have told me straight. Letting an entire family wait is neither polite nor funny. Shame on you. read more
