Run the other way. This individual is not even a handyman, let alone a licensed professional. He was hired by my General as a subcontractor to do plumbing work on business, and unfortunately I didn't find out what he is until too late. He is NOT licensed and has no idea about commercial codes. He wasn't even aware - as a plumber - that Onondaga county requires separate plumbing, plans, inspections all done by a licensed plumber. Because of this, when it came time to open my business, we were informed that we didn't have everything we needed for our certificate of occupancy. It took another 8 months after opening to get everything fully mitigated in no small part because this individual came once a week, if we were lucky. Eventually, my General fired him because he was incompetent to complete the plumbing work to code. What had taken him 7 months to unsuccessfully do, a licensed plumber was able to complete in under 2 weeks. Unfortunately, in order to get everything done I had to make compromises, or my walls would have need to be torn open again, thus taking even longer. As you can see from the attached picture, the ugly PVC pipe should be fully enclosed in the walls. It's not what I paid for, but I felt bad for my General. The extra costs of this has jeopardized his solvency. It could have done the same to me, if the county had decided to shut me down rather than allow me to mitigate. For all you General Contractors, you would be well advised to steer clear. I know for a fact, my General had to pay in excess of $20K due to professional malfeasance of Jim Pollack. Feel free to reach out to me and I can tell you more as well as put you in contact with the licensed plumber who eventually finished the job. For residential individuals, if the timeline that he followed for my business project of 8 months late is OK with you, then by all means. I wouldn't hire him clean my toilet, let alone do any plumbing work. That said, I'm looking forward to the next time our paths cross. read more

In August, we contacted JMEG Installations via their Facebook page after confirming the quality of their work with some former customers. Meghan Delany, an employee of JMEG Installations, replied to our message and referred us to her boyfriend Jim Pollock regarding getting a quote for the work we wanted done. Jim Pollock came, quoted the work, we accepted the quote and provided him a substantial deposit which he deposited in his bank the very next day. After several weeks of scheduling excuses and no work getting done, Jim Pollock contacted us on the first day he was finally scheduled to start some work and asked us to pay for the supplies required for that job since his account at Lowes was locked and he no longer had access to our deposit to purchase the supplies directly. Based on these events, we notified him we wanted to cancel the job and get a full refund of our deposit. He agreed to a full refund of our monies via text and verbally and even signed a promissory note guaranteeing payment of monies owed to us. After several weeks of broken promises about making payments against the monies he took from us, we were forced to get an attorney to send a formal letter of demand when he defaulted on the promissory note. He received and signed for our demand letter but never contacted our attorney and did not make any payment by the extended deadline outlined in the letter. Our last text exchange with Jim Pollock was on November 9, 2023 and as of the date of this post he has not contacted us or our attorney or made any effort to return our money. At this time, we have no choice but to pursue civil and criminal legal actions in this matter. My experience with Jim relates to telling him what I'm looking for in regards to my dads bathroom, setting up an appointment, sending him the address, and him never showing up or calling to apologize or reschedule. Seems to be the running pattern these days. read more

this company is a scam. took a 50% deposit at the end of June 2023 and we still do not have a deck replaced. our many phone calls are either not returned, returned with every excuse and or lie as to why the work has not been done. We initially hired JMEG for a patio installation, but found Jim Pollack's work to be so meticulous and creative that we also hired him to redesign and update our kitchen as well! Jim was thoughtful and unbelievably affordable while developing our project. He was able to incorporate all of our ideas as he tirelessly completed the installation of our new sink, counter tops, faucet and all cabinetry. He was even able to complete the demolition and construction in a timely manner that was not too intrusive for our busy family! He finished all the electrical, plumbing and tile work way earlier than expected despite some delays in the supply chain that we all are forced to deal with. He finished way under budget!
