I don't believe he's ever finished a house on time and rarely ever completes the "punch list" once you've closed. I've heard from people in the business that he's had bankruptcies and many judgements filed against him. You can't trust the Home Builders Association because they represent builders, not you. I've also heard that he has trouble finding sub-contractors because he has a reputation for poor payment. If you are building a new home RUN from this company even if you have to pay more. Doing business with them is not worth the aggravation.

I am currently in the midst of an egregious battle with JMEG Installations (James Pollock and Meghan Delany), to recover my full 50% deposit that was given to them in good faith. Despite our initial discussions and their assurances, the services promised (finishing basement and egress window) were not fulfilled, and as a result, I was left with no choice but to seek a refund for the aforementioned deposit. I am also dealing with the Onondaga County District Attorney, as well as Marcellus Police, to recoup my losses and investigate criminal charges of Home Improvement Fraud, Deceptive or Fraudulent Business Practices, and Theft by Deception. What's more concerning is their unprofessional behavior when my wife and I requested a refund for the full amount of the deposit. Megan Delany of JMEG verbally abused my wife and used offensive language and belittled her. Upon contacting James Pollock to address the issue, he initially agreed to the refund but later changed his tone, using threats and intimidation tactics. He told me verbatim he would "pound my face in," multiple times, after I suggested that we meet the next day before work at the JMEG address that was listed to me on the estimate. I suggested this in an attempt to make it convenient for him to return my deposit, as earlier that day he sent me a photo of a flat tire as a reason to excuse his no-show. Not to mention his wife claimed to have COVID earlier that day as well and asked if I was sure I wanted James coming over, though I said yes. I was disgusted with their lack of professionalism, constant excuses, and just wanted my money back. This escalated to a point where I had to involve the police and legal authorities due to their hostile behavior. A report was made and James and Megan were contacted, and instructed them to return our money within a week. I believe that I was provided with misleading, deceptive and false information that led me to believe that the project could be completed within the timeframe we had discussed. This perception compelled me to proceed with submitting a deposit. Their initial representation led me to believe that I was dealing with a professional and reliable contractor. However, their failure to initiate the work and the subsequent lack of communication have shattered that perception. I trusted their assurances and made the deposit in good faith, expecting that the work would be carried out in a timely manner. Regrettably, that has not been the case. As per our agreement and the timeline we discussed, the work was supposed to commence shortly after the deposit was made. However, despite their commitments, they failed to show up to the job site as promised. On multiple occasions, scheduled commencement dates were arranged for the initiation of the project. However, each of these instances was met with explanations and excuses that prevented the commencement from taking place. The lack of communication and the failure to uphold their end of the bargain have left me disappointed and dissatisfied with the way the situation has unfolded. From the get-go, I do not believe I was ever told anything that was accurate, truthful, or honest. In the midst of these alarming circumstances, Megan Delany sent a Cease and Desist letter in an attempt to intimidate and silence us from sharing our honest experience. It's worth noting that we did not sign those documents. Only after involving legal authorities and and the District Attorney of Financial Crimes in Onondaga county who agreed to take on the case and investigate/prosecute for Home Improvement Fraud, Deceptive or Fraudulent Business Practices, and Theft by Deception, Megan offered a partial refund, met with more intimidation tactics, making it clear that their priority was anything but customer satisfaction. In the end, after being subjected to intimidation, threats, and deceit, I reluctantly accepted a partial refund of $5000 instead of the full amount, just to put an end to the ordeal. I will continue to pursue this matter legally to seek justice for the remaining I strongly recommend caution if considering JMEG Installations for your projects, and I hope that my review serves as a cautionary tale for potential customers. read more
