I have to give five stars - from the first call I realized this business knows what they are doing. They gave me the facts and pricing to help make an educated decision on my new furnace purchase. I was using my home warranty program, so JL Mechanical was assigned to me as their vendor. I had a new furnace installed and JL Mechanical kept me updated with the date of service plus text messages to remind me and give me a link to track my installation team members. They also email you a snapshot of those who will be doing the installation work. Robert was my guy and he was intelligent, patient, friendly, and answered all my questions. In fact, I've had repairs and installations done in my house before but the entire work area and my house was completely CLEANED UP when they were done. (I can't say the same about Comcast when they drill a hole in your wall) Everything is working great - it's been a few days now and I have HEAT - in fact, the new furnace is even quieter than the previous one and I can't even tell it's running. Originally it was a repair call to fix my 25 year old furnace that had a bad harness. That lead to their being a 30-day lead time for the parts we could not wait it was cold! Talked to the office manager Jennifer and inquired about a new system since our furnace and a/c was old and struggling to keep up. She discussed pricing on a furnace only, and a completely new system, she explained how we could go through the home warranty but would have to follow their rules which would be $2,200 out of pocket, then they order the furnace only, and would be 2-3 weeks for install and 30-day warranty. A new system, with furnace and a/c directly with them 10 yr parts, labor warranty and 30 day installation warranty. Price was reasonable and they could install the very next day. The warranty itself was a no brainer. Tuesday, Taylor and Mark came to install, they were professional, and did a great job installing both units, and new thermostat. Next day, unit was not working correctly, called when I got home from work and the owner Justin answered the phone very easy to talk to, and sympathetic. I explained what was going on kept throwing high heat limit code on new unit, he apologized and explained the new units only go up to a certain heat limit and said he knew the fix would be to install a new one with a 10-15' higher limit so it would not trip it. He would have someone out there the next day with part to help the issue, I could not take of work again, so we decided Friday. Robert came out, and installed the new limit switch at 9am, then by 11am not working again, I called back talked to Nicole, when I got home from work and she re-routed Jared to come when he was already on his way home at the end of the day. Jared comes out and he did a fantastic job of taking his time, explaining what was going on, and using the right tools to get the job done. He made sure each vent was reading the correct temperature. They replaced parts until it was no longer safe to do so. When it came to replacement they walked us through every option to make sure we had everything on the table and gave us the time and space to make a decision. Great people to do business with. Purchased a Furnace/AC combo because the new house we moved into had a 20+ setup and the inducer motor was going. Justin explained everything, broke down all the costs and configured a great HE system. Today, Robert came out and connected the outdoor AC unit. All his employees who have been out to build the new system and today to connect and test the AC are very professional, polite and respectful of private property. I do not recommend! Company sent out a repairman and he did not even turn on my furnace to check to see what the issue was. I was then contacted by my warranty company and I told the repairman said the issue was due to my furnace not being p maintaine. I sent in proof of my furnace tune-up and I had a second opinion who said it was due to wear snd tear meanwhile I was without a working furnace for weeks. JL Mechanical Heating and Air Conditioning was recommended to me by my best friends after they repaired and replaced multiple systems on both the heating and air conditioning side of their house. They came highly recommended for exemplary work, following through with the repairs and appointments, and timely service. JL Mechanical were not the first technicians we approached for diagnosing and repairing our faulty AC system. It stopped cooling after we turned it back on after the winter. We contacted a local company who had serviced our furnace in the past. They came out and looked at our air conditioning unit, measured the amount of refrigerant, and told us there was a crack in the line. They also spent 5 minutes denigrating whoever installed our air conditioning unit, taking note that they had done a terrible job sealing the line, running it, doing clean work, and a host of other problems. In fact, their advice was to go after whoever had originally installed our air conditioner (as it was only 4 years old at that point) and have them fix their poor work since it was obvious that the line had cracked due to their failure to properly install it. They also assured us that if they had done the work, they wouldn't have done any of that and would stand by their work and take care of it. Their solution was to fill the tank with nitrogen and do a bubble test along the line to detect the leak or run it for a week with dye and come back and fix the leak then. To make a long story short, we discovered that this company had installed the unit while we were closing on the house, and they refused to honor their work and blamed us for the crack in the line. They also then tried to immediately start repairs while quoting an outrageous price to fix their own mistakes. They charged a service charge despite initially telling me they had been the cause of the problem. This is when we contacted Justin at JL Mechanical. They got back to us quickly and were out to us the next day. He agreed with the first company that they had done a terrible job installing the unit and running the line. However, unlike the first company, he had a refrigerant detector he used along the entirety of the unit and the line back to the furnace in the basement which detected no refrigerant leak along the line. He quickly diagnosed the actual problem which were the evaporator coils in the furnace, which were already at their end of life when the new AC unit had been installed 4 years prior. The leaks were obvious, and the evaporator coils were a rusted mess. The people from the first company did not even look at the evaporator coils or the line itself in the basement nor did they have a refrigerant detector (which made detecting the leaks in the evaporator coils easy. It lit up like a Christmas tree). Justin had a quote out that night and did not charge us a service charge for the initial visit. The very next day a technician by the name of Mike came out with the new part they had procured basically the same day and replaced it in a matter of 4 hours. He even stuck around for an hour to ensure that the air conditioner was working, that there were no drops in pressure from any possible leaks, cleaned up any mess he made, fixed up some of the terrible sealing from the initial installation, and wrapped new insulation around line. Payment was easy and Justin worked with us on the price. They were great at every step of the process and took their time to explain the problem, show it, and explain how it was going to be fixed, the warranty on the parts, their labor and everything else you could think of. I would highly recommend JL Mechanical Heating and Air Conditioning for any heating or air conditioning work you have. Their approach to the work and how they handled themselves was in sharp contrast to our first technicians we contacted. You will not be disappointed. read more

We have used JL Mechanical for A/C repair and full furnace replacement. They have been great with both jobs and are always willing to come check things out for us if something doesn't seem right. We have a home warranty and are often disappointed in what our warranty does or doesn't cover. JL Mechanical was really great at handling the home warranty company and making sure we were taken care of even when the warranty company didn't want to get things done for us. I am extremely disappointed and upset with this company. I thought Justin was trying to help me and it turns out I was very wrong. He originally came out filled my unit, and replaced two small parts and told me he believed that would solve my issues and if there were any more problems to call back and he'd come out again. He told me it would take a few days for the system to play catch up. I said ok. The first night the ac was back to working awesome thought everything was good. Well the next day it wasn't keeping the house where it should be so I gave it a few days like he said and when my house was back up to 76 with my ac set on 68 I called... and called and called. He finally got back to me after days of calling we set up an appointment for him to come back out. Last Tuesday he came to the house, my father in law was mowing my grass. His office lady called me and told me he was getting ready to call me and explain what was going on (which my father in law said he never even got out of the vehicle). I never received a call until today almost a week later after my mom posted a negative review. I called 5 times and left voicemails between last Tuesday when he was in my driveway, never leaving his vehicle and never calling me and Friday of last week when I decided to call another company who called back right away and came out on Father's Day to look at my unit. I spent over $500 to find out from a different company that it was all money down the drain. So 0 out of 5 stars would not recommend to my worst enemy. My elderly mother had problems with her "very old" furnace. We contacted Justin the owner of JL Mechanical. He came out immediately. He was very patient, respectful and kind to mother and explained everything to her. The furnace needed to be replaced. New furnace was replaced in a timely manner and old one removed and disposed of. Can't say enough nice things about this company. If anyone is looking for a trustworthy, reliable, reasonably priced and customer oriented Furnace/AC company, Justin is the one to call.
