The atmosphere is always fun and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to stop by with family or friends on a warm day. The ice cream is absolutely delicious, with plenty of flavors to choose from and generous portions that never disappoint. It's one of those places you find yourself coming back to again and again. If you're in the Framingham area and craving ice cream, Mad Willie's should be at the top of your list. Great ice cream, great vibes, and a great overall experience every time!

They serve Richardson's ice cream, so not their own, and like other Richardson's not direct from their creamery it seems to lose a little flavor and texture. The name Richardson's is suspiciously absent on the walls as well. I got the banana split with German chocolate cake, blueberry pie, and rum raisin. They were all.. good, but I've had better of all three elsewhere. It was huge and priced accordingly! We had an unrelated issue too- my friend ordered a classic brownie sundae and even pointed at the picture of it on the wall- a big brownie with toppings. What he got instead was a cup with ice cream and pre-cut brownie bits in it, nowhere near as fresh and inviting. He pointed this out to them and instead of apologizing or asking if he wanted something else they just told him they don't make it like the picture. Disappointing product and service. We liked the young team of servers but I feel like the whole place could use an injection of energy and ice cream passion!

Fortunately, Blackstone Creamery uses the same recipes (and a few new ones!) and the ice cream is still world class. It's nice to see some new short term flavors. The people are very friendly and the decor is about the same as it was. We never get the soft serve as it's pretty much what you can get anywhere. The hard serve is where it's at. And don't load up the ice cream perfection with toppings. A cone is ok, dish for purists.

When we arrived, we pulled into their large parking lot off to the side. There is a sign that has all the things they offer including ice cream, mini golf, adventure farm, and venue(s) for birthday parties. We wanted ice cream so we went straight to the wooden cabin looking building and joined the line. Despite there being a line, it moved quick. I appreciated that they have their menu posted in about 4-5 places along the building so you can easily see their options from every spot. I asked to try about three flavors and finally settled on blueberry pie and peanut butter truffle in a sugar cone. My friend ordered two scoops of black raspberry. The total came out to $13 which is average for ice cream and the scoops they give are pretty big which makes it worth it. They have a lot of picnic tables on their patio, with some in the shade and others in the sun. As I ate my ice cream, l admired the lake and big trees in the distance; it truly is a beautiful space. The blueberry pie was not overly sweet, but it did have little pieces of blueberry and soft pie crust. The peanut butter truffle was a peanut butter base with chocolate chips and peanut butter cups. It was a perfect balance of peanut butter and chocolate and not overwhelmingly sweet. I would absolutely come back to try other flavors.
