We came here this afternoon it was packed for the ice cream and the driving range. Even busy we were able to get our balls at the driving range Brian was a huge help read more

Some of the best tasting ice cream in town..many favors to choose from. They sell Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Fries etc. It's located on the outskirts of Thompson Speedway and Golf course and driving range. Beautiful goods, very well manicured, clean and very busy (not always a bad thing lol). The only reason I rated 4 stars instead of 5, is there is no public restrooms. read more

I am amazed I see any reviewer leave less than 5 stars! This place is awesome! Friendly staff, the long lines move quickly, and most importantly, the ice cream is to die for! Absolutely delicious and huge servings. Well worth a drive from anywhere in the area! read more

Never ever again will I be coming here! Ordered three sundaes to go. two came in cups and one came in a plastic banana boat style cup. The ice cream melted all out within 10 min while I was waiting for the other ice creams to come out. I ask for a cup they tell me no, 5 min later I tell them I have a 30 min ride can I please get a cup. She says NO! I'm baffled why they would make a hot fudge sundae in a banana boat!!! Especially to go. I come here frequently and always got ice cream in a cup! Waste of money as I couldn't eat it. I'll definitely be going elsewhere from now on. read more

I'd heard at my work that Bogeys ice cream was great. My daughter and I took the 10 minute drive from home and honestly it's nothing I'd recommend. The prices are ok and the portions are large but IMHO the ice cream is mediocre I'll take WeLiKit or Bucks any day read more

I'm really disappointed at Bogeys. I had the same exact experience the last reviewer had. I ordered two sundaes. Hot fudge and peanut butter and a hot fudge sundae. My sons gets his first and there's barely any hot fudge. Literally maybe a teaspoon of that. Of course they charged extra for it. I then get mine and it's in a plastic container that's literally an inch deep. Of course being 90 out it melts almost instantly, pouring over the container. I didn't get a chance to eat it. I had to throw it away. It's so strange how both weren't made in a cup. Usually this place is the best. I'm assuming it's different teenagers working this summer. They obviously need to be trained better. I'm not sure we'll be going back here. read more

Amazing ice-cream. I had the small and it was huge. Next time I'm getting the kiddie cup.

Super cute little ice cream shop with big servings and great prices. Lots of different options for hard ice cream but not many dairy free options. Great view on a summer afternoon of the golf course with lots of picnic tables under shady trees to enjoy your ice cream. We also tried the burgers - nothing to really to say - very plain and I wouldn't bother ordering again. read more

This is a great walk-up ice cream shop. The menu is limited, as you would expect, but what is offered is great. Sundaes are, for example, straight forward. You chose the ice cream flavor that you want from those that are available that day, you chose the topping, if you want nuts they are added at no extra cost, the sundaes come with a whipped cream topping and a cherry. You can't ask for more. The "atmosphere" is exactly what you want from a walk up ice cream stand. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. there are benches you can sit at (weather permitting) and you get a view of a golf driving range - very pleasant. As for pricing I got a small (but generous for being small) hot fudge sundae for $6.75 (tax included). As for tipping, the tip jar is very obvious and, since you are just picking up what you ordered I am not sure that a tip is appropriate but it is not a big deal and you certainly have no obligation to provide one if you chose not to, but you help the staff pay tuition. Highly recommended read more

Final review of 2022 goes to this incredible shack! I rarely get the food here, even though it is really delicious and typically involves a deal of some sort. The ice cream is the show stopper for me! First off, unless you want to go into diabetic shock, get the KID size. Not small, not medium, KID! It is more than a heaping serving that I struggle to finish. They offer seasonal delights, whether in the dog days of summer or heart of fall. In the fall they offer a pumpkin Oreo ice cream that may be deemed heaven sent!! It is also worth mentioning that the shack sits on the edge of a driving range for people watching shanks of joy, or partake yourself. All around 5 stars in every way. Bon appetite! read more

Small place adjacent to a golf course and driving range serving up HUGE portions of Richardson's Ice Cream. I definitely recommend getting the smallest size possible because I got a "small" and it was literally 5 scoops of ice cream. The ice cream is pretty solid. I got their chocolate chip ice cream and their were plenty of chips in it. They also make their own waffle cones, but beware because mine was pretty soft and there was no way that it was holding all of the ice cream that they gave me. Thankfully they gave me the ice cream in a bole with the waffle cone placed on top. The only seating around is at a couple of picnic tables that are right behind the driving range, which I imagine could be a fun place to sit when people are using it...too bad it was raining today... Ice Cream Quality: 8/10 Overall: 7/10 read more

Bright my dog here and they gave him a free scoop! My ice cream (mint oreo) was phenomenal and HUGE! Thank you to the nice kids who scooped it and made mine and the pups day! read more

The best place to get ice cream in our area!!! Best setting! Biggest ice creams! Pictured is our most recent trip to Bogeys. One medium and one baby size. $8 and some change. The first time we ever went to Bogeys husband ordered a large and it was literally as big as his head!! Great atmosphere sitting watching people practicing at the driving range on the side of the table area. Or hearing the race cars next door at Thompson Speedway. I need to mention they make a great burger and fries there too...called the Bogey Bucket, and it comes with onion rings too! read more

Awesome ice cream! Amazing portions! Cheap prices! The only issue was the different sizes of the large sundae- the one in my pictures on the left was 1.5 times bigger than the one on the right- two different people making them- might want to figure out which size it should be! read more

Bogey's Ice Cream - two cups of ice cream - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Thompson, Connecticut

Used to be the best place for ice cream in CT until they changed their ice cream from Richardsons to Bliss. I found out late August and was so saddened. They still serve very large portions which is great so order a small. Staff are lovey too. read more

Ice cream used to be good. This past year was a dud. I don't know what changed, but we were pretty disappointed this past summer.

Definitely worth the trip to Bogey's Ice Cream with a friendly staff, plenty of parking, picnic tables and amazing ice cream choices. Currently serving huge scoops and sundaes featuring the best of Bliss and Giffords ice cream flavors. Located in Thompson CT, just over the Massachusetts border near the golf course and speedway. Bogey's Ice Cream - Bogey's Ice Cream overlooking the Golf driving range. - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Thompson, Connecticut

Great flavors from Richardson's creamery and decent prices on the setting of a golf course and right next door, Thompson speedway.

The kiddie serving was 3 huge scoops. I can imagine how big a small would be. The mint frozen yogurt was yummy. The server was friendly. They take credit cards. It did cost $4.50. I don't think that's cheap but I might be out of date. If I took kids there I would ask for an empty cup and have them share. Recommended! read more

gross wet ice cream from bogeys, melts too fast and my cone was very hot. Boycotting. Dripped all over my daughter Lucy and she had to wash off in the Quaddick lake. Disgusting! And shameful. read more

This place is a hidden gem. Fried Oreos are yummy and the ice cream cones are off the charts giagantic.

Amazing ice cream, you may wait in line but it will be worth it. Pack your appetite because the ice cream portions are generous. Love the Totally Turtle. Miss the blue berry pie flavor but there is always a good choice on the board. read more

What more can I say.. Best ice cream around!!! Sizes are unbelievable the kiddie is like a large at any other place. Foods also great, the bogey bucket is a must! Plus there's a beautiful view of the driving range and place to watch the race cars. What more could you ask for! read more

Great tasting homemade ice cream with lots of bits in every bite. The peanut butter and death by chocolate were loaded with pieces of brownie and peanut butter. So delicious read more

Great ice cream and great views of the golf course. Portions are HUGE! Kiddie size is 3 big scoops of ice cream.

We live 10 minutes from here but have never been. We always go to Bucks, which we love. But we went here last minute because Bucks was closed and Bogeys is open a little later. It was great! I got a sundae. I'd get the small next time! They pack their ice cream in! The dogs at the place were great to watch. The food looked good though we didn't get food that night. I'd go again for sure ! read more

You get so much ice cream for your money. I have always gotten a great ice cream. We went last night with Cub Scout Pack 66 and many of the families had dinner before we all had ice cream. The food looked great. Also the staff was super friendly and made sure all the cub scouts got want they wanted quickly and with a smile on their face. Thank you to the staff for taking such good care of us. You will not be disappointed going and having ice cream here! read more

I'm really the first review for Bogey's?! The ice cream is delicious. The service is cute and super friendly- they do fun theme nights! The servings are HUGE. Seriously. Huge. Great value. The Bogey Burgers are also giant, and delicious. The fries are hand-cut-homemade. There's a driving range in case you want to entertain the kiddies while you're waiting for your food. Fantastic. read more

I have never had any of the actual food so this review pertains to ice cream only. Yay! Free ice cream. Or at least ice cream so cheap that it might as well be free. I think its $2 for a kiddie sized cup or cone. There is nothing kiddie sized about it. I usually cant finish it. Its a LOT of ice cream. And good quality ice cream too! They have a great selection of flavors. I believe they use Richardsons ice cream. Really tasty stuff. And its about half the price of all the other ice cream stands. You cant go wrong here. Get a cup or cone, with free sprinkles (or "jimmies" if you're a real die hard New Englander), get a seat on one of the benches, eat your free ice cream and watch golfers swing at the driving range. I also really appreciate the outdoor sink for washing the ice cream off your hands since the overstuffed cup will undoubtedly drip onto you somehow. read more

Very good ice cream. Fast and friendly counter people. Really needs soft serve to make it complete. Although Bogey's is about 3 minutes from our house, sometimes we will go all the way to Douglas to get soft serve. That's why I can only give Bogeys 4 stars. read more

Great ice cream but they don't have soft serve. Their service is great and they are fast when there's a big crowd in front of the place. It's so close to home too, or we can stay and walk over to the racetrack on racing nights. read more

For start: Unless you're taking home your ice cream to eat for another day, ALWAYS order a kiddie!! When they say softball sized scoops (applicable to all sizes!), they're NOT kidding! A kiddie here is akin to a large at most other ice cream places. Stumbled upon this place by some friends who are regulars, and I definitely recommend the burgers. They're satisfying, filling and tasty. If you're really feeling hungry and not worried about dessert, order the Bogey's Basket -- two orders of fries, an order of their wicked good onion rings and a cheeseburger on top, all for about $9.00. Alas, you cannot take the basket itself home with you, but they will give you a take out container if you can't finish it. The girls have always been nice and polite and the owner is very welcoming. She usually comes to check in and make sure everyone is okay and the boat is running smoothly every night before closing. Price for serving, you can't beat it and the quality is good. Good for an early evening dinner into nighttime, as they close at 9pm. Heads up, bring bug spray or long sleeves as the mosquitoes are pretty nasty once the sun goes down due to the pond nearby. They have tiki torches now, which makes it easier, but there are persistent bugs! read more

Orange freeze was enormous, thick, and tasty! They even give you the rest of the soda bottle. For the price it can't be beat.

Bogeys ice cream is a family favorite! We try to come as a family every Sunday!! They have great prices and the amounts of ice cream is never skimpy!! read more
