We went with new pavers around the pool, a small turf area, new plants and some lighting. Meir was our project manager and was actually involved throughout the job. One thing I appreciated was when we weren't sure about the paver layout, he had the crew lay out a section first so we could see it before committing to the whole yard. Little things like that made the process a lot easier. Everything came together really nice and the backyard finally feels finished.

He gave me solutions when other contractors told me to figure out an alternative (e.g. two previous contractors told me to buy a certain type of vanity based on the location of a pipe and John opened the wall and said, "Nope, I can move or reroute the pipe, there isn't any electrical or anything in the way that prevents it"). I have a handful of examples like that, and it made me realize that the others just wanted to do everything the easy way. He also found a potentially catastrophic problem under one of the showers that had previously been missed. On top of that, I really appreciated that he has an eye for little details - paint touch-ups, visual alignment, etc. Highly recommend.

This is a review for ONLY my first impression phone call with Mike Goldman (owner) that I had…read moretoday; I will update if we decide to move forward with his company. I sent a written request for a quote through Yelp to several general contractors for a lot of work we will be doing on a new home in PS. His assistant proactively called me and connected me to Mike on the phone, so I did not have to reach out myself. Most other companies wrote back, "Yeah, I can do the work. Call me." eh. Nothing really wrong with that, but if I wanted to call, I would have and if you want the business...make it happen. I respect that they reached out to me, making it easier on me. What I appreciated from today's call is: *his VERY down to earth demeanor; I could see getting along with Mike very easily. *Mike took close to thirty minutes of his time to talk me through his style, and giving me specific ideas he would suggest for the remodel just based off the pictures from the property listing I sent. Awesome and appreciated. This gives me a chance to see how his mind works and if we would be a good match for such a large job. This got his foot in the door and made me decide to get a rough quote from him, which I am only doing with three total companies. *He stressed two things that he specifically addresses which are a notorious problem in this industry - (1) he is value conscious, suggesting alternatives to what you want to do so YOU can choose what you want to spend and where you may want to save....AND (2) he stays to the budget you give him probably more than his customers do. These are invaluable things to consider as he is promising to be done when says he will and on budget. HUGE. His work has been on TV shows and has many jobs being done simultaneously - all due to word of mouth, no real advertising. Other thing to note is he doesn't do pools, but will refer you to a few people that are good that he has worked with before. I am getting three total quotes, including from Mike, and ...so far, I am impressed.

Greg was very punctual, organized, and very detailed orientated the moment I first shook his hand. He came to my house with his portfolio binder containing an area to take notes, special area for pens/pencils, business cards, etc. This showed professionalism and how organized he is, which is something that's hard to find. I ended up choosing Greg because his quote came in around $500-1000 less than the other guys I contacted. We set a time and date for him to show up and left him our garage door opener so he can come and go while we were at work. We had him repair our living room floor (had bad water damage from moisture underneath), put in a new side access gate, repair and install a new side door and frame, and install a bathroom fan and light. What I liked about his work is his attention to detail. Everything was precise and done right, and not to mention, if something was bothering him, he went back and fixed it until he was pleased with the outcome of it. Another bonus was that he gave us options in parts and materials...letting us know the price differences and his own personal recommendations. In the end, he finished everything with in a week and only went $100 over the proposed price (we wanted to upgrade a few things). We couldn't be happier with the work, professionalism and price. He is now our GO TO guy if we need any home repairs, maintenance, remodeling or home improvements!
