Needed my leaky toilet repaired. The handyman we used before has closed his business so I needed to find a good one fast. I called 4 handyman services. Highest quote was $220.00. This was no MAJOR repair. Only a seal between the water tank & toilet. We are handicapped Seniors on a very limited income so we need to compare prices. This Handyman did a fast, expert install. Not only did he replace the old worn out seal but all the internal tank parts and service charge for total of $110.00. Very happy with his work. He is now in my phone contact list. Another SATASFIED customer here. read more

He was great to work with until an issue came up. Rafael had done quite a bit of work for me over the past couple of years. He would provide a quote, complete the work as agreed, and everything always went smoothly. On the most recent job, there were several items involved, and I later realized that one item I had requested was not completed. I asked about a refund, and he said the work was not done and that I had not been charged for it. We had discussed the item previously, but it was not in writing. He believed we decided not to proceed with it, while I believed it was still included. Ultimately, it was a misunderstanding on both sides. When I went to review the invoice to verify the charges, I was unable to find it. I asked multiple times over the course of a couple of months for a copy, as I need it for my tax records. Most of the time he ignored me, but when he did respond I was given excuses as to why he could not send me the invoice. I worked with him for years without any prior issues, but based on how this misunderstanding and follow-up were handled, I would not recommend him. read more

DO NOT HIRE RAFAEL! Friendly at first, then refuses all communication from voicemail or emails. Continuously delays appointments with no explanation or apology. He could not even tell me what I had hired him to do after months of emails and leaving him with detailed phone messages (well-documented.) This dude is not licensed for a reason! I am a stranger to you, but I beg you to take your hard-earned money and spend it anywhere except Desert Handyman! read more

First of all, he showed up in a face mask between his jobs to see what he needs. He texted to let me know that he's finishing up a job and coming very soon within a few hours. He came with all the parts he needs and repaired leaking water valve of toilet within a few mins. I wanted mention how difficult to purchase parts at the Home Depot these days due to short stock in Covid Pandemic. He managed to purchase and repair it alternative way. He charged me very reasonable. He also got measurements to give me estimates for other jobs. He's very professional and reliable. He's contact will be on top of my list for my new house and business office. Thank you! read more

I have now been using Rafael for the past few months and I don't know what I would do without him since I am an out of town owner. He does an AMAZING job at a fair price. He understands that I might have renters coming in and works with me to get it done. I can trust him to just give him a code and he goes in gets the work done and leaves super clean. He has worked on everything from lights to gates to shower handles and all of his work is excellent. Highly recommended and will be using for many years to come! read more

I have called Rafael several times, and he is the absolute best. First, he is bright, honest, and never ever tries to take advantage of his customers. He will make sure you are totally satisfied with the work, by insisting you check it out. I would never use anyone else. If you need the best in the valley, he is your guy. I highly recommend him. and as a plus he will remember exactly what he did for you the last time. Try him. read more

Great experience with Rafael. He came out to Rancho Mirage and looked at the issue (fossilized kitchen faucet and dislodged sink basin.) He gave us a very fair estimate. When he came to do the work, he completed it in a reasonable amount of time and he did an excellent job. He is courteous, friendly and keeps in communication about the work. And again, the price was fair. We highly recommend this handyman! Great job! read more

Disappointed. Cannot recommend for a variety of reasons. First, "nicked" me on cost: Despite showing up in advance to estimate, when he finally came to fix it he raised the price over 13%. With Easterners at the house for Thanksgiving week, we had to endure his extreme delays & no-shows, w. excuses that did not seem credible (making me wonder if he made 'em up out of thin air). Sloopy too: He used wood screws when attaching into sheet-metal (the threads are different, so I wonder if this will hold up over time). Ppoor attitude. I had a variety of others things for him to do, but will NOT use him ever again. Based on my experience, have to wonder if his other reviews are truly real or not. read more

I've used Raphael a couple of times now for minor issues. He is fair, skilled and very good with communication. When others couldn't help me in a timely manner or simply didn't return my call, he was there with quick willingness to help. One time when I called, he was out of town but had me send a picture of the problem and he gave me advice on how to fix it myself. Old school service values are hard to find. read more

Rafael is a fabulous. He is responsive, he shows up or texts if he is delayed and most importantly he is a skilled provider. His prices are very fair.He carefully analyzes the problem and comes up with an intelligent solution. On top of that he is a good, clear communicator. I was having a problem with water leaking from the patio into the garage and ruining the garage floor. Rafael figured out a solution and it has worked perfectly. I have called on him several times for help and have never been disappointed. I can recommend him highly without concern. read more

Rafael is fantastic! I am a distant landlord and had a company manage my condo for years. When I inspected the condo it was poorly maintained and needed extensive work. I read the reviews for Rafael and he more than lived up to his reputation. Rafael replaced appliances, a toilet, regrouted, repaired damaged wood, textured and repainted damaged walls and replaced light fixtures. He's a hard worker who takes pride in his work and is 100% reliable!! Thanks Rafael!! Well done, Tom read more

Had Rafael come and install an over-range microwave and he and his team did it beautifully in a timely manner with fair pricing! If you have a small job done, forget it. I needed a shower head repaired...he wasn't interested. Said he'd call and set up a time to come by, never did call, didn't respond to my call. The best part, I decided to have a lot of other things repaired and ended up paying over $500 to another guy...who DID return my call and DID show up! read more
