I bought my boat from Inland Boat Center in March 2024 through Taylor and Mr. Hellman. At the time…read moreof sale, the experience was excellent--very responsive, very friendly, and full of assurances that made me feel confident doing business there. I purchased a 2021 Manitou Aurora for $32,000, which I still own and have only put about 30 hours on. A major part of that conversation was a trailer they agreed to sell me for $2,800 out the door. I was told it only needed brakes and that I would get a call when it was ready. I followed up several times and kept hearing delays, including that the wrong brakes had been installed and they needed more time. Eventually the communication stopped completely. Since then, no one has followed through, no one has updated me, and now the original agreement is treated as if it never happened. Instead, the only option presented is a new trailer for around $7,000. I also recently asked what they would offer if they bought the boat back. After paying $32,000 and barely using it, I was offered $16,000. Even getting that answer took repeated effort because emails and calls were ignored until I physically walked into the showroom. Service has been equally disappointing. When I bought the boat, I was specifically told that because I am a Canyon Lake customer they would arrange pickup and delivery for service. When I called recently, I was told there is now a $200 transportation charge and that I would need to take it up with Taylor. I texted Taylor directly again and still received no response. I was also quoted around $1,000 for a basic oil change and impeller replacement, while other boat service centers quoted substantially less for the same work. I have been in sales for over 20 years, and one thing I understand clearly is that customer service after the sale matters more than the sale itself. What stands out most here is how dramatically the customer experience changed once the transaction was complete. Before the purchase, communication was immediate. After the purchase, promises became difficult to verify, follow-up became almost nonexistent, and basic customer service became a struggle. For anyone considering buying here: document everything, get every commitment in writing, and do not rely on verbal promises alone. Based on how this has been handled, I would not purchase from Inland Boat Center again, and I would not recommend that friends, family, or anyone I know buy or service a boat there.

Gearhead Marine - Boat to tall let's build a step

I contacted my dealer, and they told me most of the parts were discontinued and there was nothing they could do. I was seriously considering selling the boat and buying a new one. Instead, I decided to explore retrofitting the boat with modern digital systems. After some research, I found Gearhead Marine. From the very first conversation, I knew I had found the right shop. Courtney was fantastic. He clearly explained all my options and confidently told me, "When I'm done, you're going to have a brand-new boat." He was absolutely right! He completely overhauled my electrical and electronic systems, retrofitted everything to modern digital standards, and even took care of several issues on my trailer that I hadn't mentioned. He performed two separate sea trials to make sure every system was working perfectly before calling the job done. I couldn't be happier with the results. The boat now runs and handles better than it did when it was new. Courtney's expertise, attention to detail, and professionalism are outstanding. I will never let another boat mechanic touch my boat again. If you have an older boat or new one for that matter, that needs work, do yourself a favor and take it to Gearhead Marine. You won't regret it!

Beware: Unethical and Deceptive Practices by Ratchets N Wrenches Mobile Mechanic:…read moreI'm writing this review on behalf of my 83-year-old mother-in-law, who had a deeply troubling experience with Danny from Ratchets N Wrenches, a mobile auto repair service. Danny was called to inspect and repair a water leak in her vehicle. He initially quoted $360 via text message--no formal documentation, invoice, or written estimate was ever provided. A few days later, Danny claimed additional parts were needed but failed to specify what those parts were or how much they would cost. Despite multiple requests for a breakdown of charges and parts, no information was given. Then, without warning or authorization for any additional work, Danny texted that the vehicle was "all fixed" and demanded $740--more than double the original quote. At no point was a revised estimate presented, nor was consent given for extra repairs. This lack of transparency and disregard for proper documentation is especially concerning given that the customer is an elderly woman. It's clear she was taken advantage of during this process. Danny's reply was, I can come back and remove all the parts and give your money back, what's an 83-year lady supposed to do? Consumers--especially seniors--deserve honesty, clarity, and respect. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. If you have a like story, please post it to avoid this happening to someone else.
