We ordered bbq wings. BBQ literally came on the side but the other wings had the sauce on them. BLT was fine. Mildly disappointed.

This is an ok pizza place. The pizza is average and pretty greasy. It would be nice if they delivered.

Pizza isn't special because there ain't enough cheese. They are very clean but I've noticed harshness toward staff

Heard about North Brookfield Pizza Palace in North Brookfield after seeing a recent video from…read moreTaste of Massachusetts. I was introduced to a North Shore Beef not long ago, so I had to check this one out for myself. It's a small spot with just a couple tables and some fun Greek décor. I ordered the Super Beef 3-Way and, of course, felt obligated to try a slice of pizza too Everything was tasty -- definitely worth the stop!

I was born in Salem and growing up my family all lived in the North Shore area (Peabody, Danvers,…read moreBeverly), so I became very familiar with the popularity of the North Shore roast beef, even if as a kid I never really appreciated it. Supreme's in Danvers was my dad's preferred spot, although he would go to Kelly's or Bill and Bob's as well, but I was always getting the chicken finger dinner at the time. Fast forward thirty years, and while I have finally come to respect the super roast beef, I'm also now living out in Springfield where the concept of a North Shore roast beef sandwich is as foreign as a chop suey sandwich. However, a few weeks ago my wife clued me in to North Brookfield Pizza Palace, and our lives have changed for the better(?)! Opting for the super roast beef and getting half a pound of roast beef on an onion roll with mayo, cheese, and the absolutely required James River BBQ sauce has helped bring the taste of the North Shore with half the commute! Their fries are also fantastic, competing with Five Guys on taste and texture but not nearly as soggy and slightly less quantity for one order than with a large order from Five Guys. I have three somewhat minor criticisms of diminishing priority. First, they don't have nearly enough seating or waiting area: there's two tables tucked into the corner of their front area, maybe enough seating for two parties but that's it. I think of Supreme's and its numerous tables, but I definitely recall Bill and Bob's also having a decent-sized dining area. Every time my wife and I have gone to NBPP we have taken our order out because, if we didn't, us and our two young kids we would pretty much hog the space. The second criticism is that their menu isn't spelled out very well, either in the restaurant or online, as far as what comes on their roast beef sandwiches for example. This is one of those things where if you're in with the in crowd you would already know, but it would be helpful to rookies to know what options are available instead of having to harass the staff to have it elaborated. The third criticism, strictly my personal niggle, is that North Brookfield and the surrounding area must be full of 90s country music fans because that is all that is on the TV when I have gone to pickup. Not my jam, but at least I'm not dining in! Going solely based on their roast beef and fries, this is a five star review. I am thrilled that there is a restaurant making North Shore roast beef sandwiches within an hour of Springfield, and they are great. I hope North Brookfield Pizza Palace hangs around for a long time and maybe even finds a bigger space!

I was delighted to discover that their food options have expanded with two food trucks outside the Brew Barn -- one being TimberFire. The enticing waft of wood smoke from the brick pizza oven in the back -- mounted on a cart for transportation! -- immediately piqued my interest. But it was the chalkboard sign announcing that gluten free and vegan options were available that made me jump in line (and jump for joy). That magical combo of GF crust and dairy free cheese is still not that common, and it's even harder to find ones that taste good. Since I have a gluten sensitivity and am allergic to many forms of dairy, I was intrigued to try. The Tall Man and I each ordered one of the specials, The Fungus Among Us, which features mushrooms (of course), caramelized onions, and garlic cream sauce. He got the full gluten and dairy experience (aka refused to share in my limitations), while I got mine on GF crust and vegan cheese. In lieu of the sauce and their other alternatives (I also can't eat much tomato, and their pesto has parmesan), I suggested straight up olive oil to stick it all together. I was already holding up the line with my multiple questions, but they were very friendly and were happy to answer while busily stretching dough and checking on pizzas in the oven. 20 minutes later, we picked up our pies plus one for friends. (Unlike the Brew Barn, which will text you when your food is done, TimberFire calls out names so you have to stick close by.) Verdict? Delicious, especially straight from the oven on a chilly fall day! They used a premade GF crust, but one that had a pretty good crispy texture when fresh. Vegan cheese was all melty and creamy, so I didn't miss the sauce at all. The mushrooms were fantastic and generous. The Tall Man really liked his version of the pizza, reporting the sauce to be clutch. Our friends' Fresh to Death (aka margarita) pizza was pretty good, maybe not as wow-ing but satisfying both adults and children. I was quite happy with my pizza's flavor, but wish it were larger for the price ($18 per pie), with the GF one being smaller (10"?) than the hand stretched counterparts. They're closer in size to a medium pizza elsewhere. The Tall Man easily finished his whole pie in one go, while I ate half and saved the rest for leftovers. So expect a pricier lunch for 1-2 people per pie, or mix and match with other food options if you plan to share. Thank you for delivering a tasty GF DF experience!

Sam's is in a small plaza set back from the street. Inside you find a nice casual pizza place, as you come in you have the pizza kitchen with the large wood fired pizza oven. You can order slices or whole pies, they also have salads, wings and a couple of sandwiches. We ordered a large mushroom pizza and grabbed a table by the small bar area. The bar has beer and wine, they offer a very nice selection of local brews. After settling in the pizza showed up quickly. Sam's pizzas are thin crust, nicely cheesy and have a good basic tomato sauce. The pizza are very good with a nice balance between the yeasty crust, the pungent cheese and the slightly sweet sauce. The mushrooms were a nice touch to add some extra umami to the pie. The pizza was well cooked, although I would usually like it a bit more well done. On the table is garlic powder, hot pepper, oregano, grated cheese and even some hot honey, so you can modify your pizza to your taste. The large pie made a nice dinner split between the two of us, we each got 4 good sized slices. Sam's is a great casual pizza joint, the atmosphere is relaxed, service is quick and we even had some very good live music to compliment our meal. If you are looking to get some good pizza and some beers you can't go wrong by heading to Sam's Wood Fire Pizza.
