Then when we…read moreleft they said to watch the head gasket cause the oil looked milky, there was nothing wrong with the car before i took it for the heater core. We knew it was the heating core because there was coolant inside my car on the passenger floor. When we called back to ask what they did after we got it back someone hung up on my bf twice before. So they stated on the phone that they took off the intake gasket and they didnt need to do that to take off the heater core. Then hang up. I just called again today and stated that I wanted a detailed receipt, (which they knew exactly who and what car that I had done with out saying) then he starts describing what they did I stated I wanted it on a detailed receipt! He said that I have the receipt which I do yes, and its noted that they didn't do what they were supposed to. So now its at another shop with milky oil because they didn't do their part. So DO NOT GO HERE! Also they let people answer the phone that can't speak English!! If I could give no stars I would!!! Also he again hung up on me when I called and stated he was gonna call the police I told him go ahead. He is the one that's a scammer!! there's also a couple of Reviews that stated he over heated their cars.

Was told it was the switch to the window and I said ok go ahead and fix it. I was charged $123.00 for the switch itself, and $90.00 for the labor and wasn't even there for a while hour from the time I walked in the door to the time I walked out the door. I went back up there after looking at the invoice and they did work with me and refunded me $100.00, took the new switch off and put the old non-functioning switch back on. I was still charged for the new switch I didn't keep. Later I decided to see how much the switch cost and found it at AutoZone for $52.00.

This is a long story, so I'll start with the punchline. Dave at 13 and Crooks went above and…read morebeyond what a normal business owner would do to help us get our car fixed. Here's the story: I am a Michigan native living in Columbus, Ohio. I was traveling through Michigan to visit family and felt my car shaking, so I exited the highway and ended up near 13 and Crooks late on a Saturday night. The owner, Dave, was about to leave for the evening but took a look at my car, diagnosed it with a bad wheel bearing on the front driver's side, but could not get the part until Monday morning. We left the car, found other transportation, returned home, and I drove back later in the week to pick up the car after it was fixed. I drove the car for another month or so and it was fine, and I thought that was the end of the story. Skip forward a few weeks, and we were once again traveling through Michigan, this time up north - to Black Lake near Cheboygan. We made the trip up there (7 hours from home) with no problems, but took a short day trip to the U.P. and the car started shaking again. This occurred the day before we were supposed to head home, and we needed to be back in Columbus on Sunday for a variety of reasons - one of which was that my wife was flying to California for business on Sunday afternoon. I took the car to Main Street Automotive in Cheboygan, where the owner there - Paul - immediately diagnosed a wheel bearing problem on the same wheel (front driver's side). I called Dave at 13 and Crooks, who agreed to pay for the repair with no arguments. However, it turned out that somehow during the original repair, the threads on the axle became stripped, and the nut that holds the bearing and wheel in place wasn't holding. In other words, the new wheel bearing was fine, but the axle was damaged. It is unusual for this part to fail, so literally no parts dealers - not even dealerships - in the State of Michigan or any adjoining states, carried this part in stock and it had to be ordered. This meant we couldn't get the car repaired until Tuesday the following week (this was now a Saturday morning when we were finding out this information). If that was the case, we would have had to rent a car and drive home, and then make the 14 hour round trip to pick up the vehicle after it was fixed. However - somehow Dave at 13 and Crooks tracked down the only part in the State of Michigan (a refurbished one) at Detroit Wheel and Axle, purchased it, and arranged to have the part driven up to Cheboygan - a 4 hour trip one way. It arrived at 4:30 pm that Saturday, the fantastic gentlemen at Main Street Automotive - who kept their shop open for us - made the repair, and we made it home early Sunday morning. Dave paid for the repair, again without hesitation. Considering the circumstances, this repair was as painless as could be expected. Can't thank Dave at 13 and Crooks - and the guys at Main Street Automotive - enough for their help and professionalism. If I lived in Royal Oak - I'd have found my go-to auto repair shop for certain.

I took it back to the other autoshop and they told me I had an internal engine problem and that it would cost me $4,000 to fix it. My engine only had 100,000 miles on it and this other autoshop were offering to replace it with an engine with 96,000 miles...for $4,000. It just didn't make sense; in one month, pay out $5,000 for my car? My sister told me about Clovers Collision. I brought my car here and they told me that the new parts placed for my catalytic converter were aftermarket parts (or something like that), and that their manual said to only use parts from Jeep. Clovers Collision did something ( I can't quite explain it cause I'm not a car aficionado). Bottom line, there was no internal engine problem. They fixed the issue for less than $300! I'm so grateful for this place. The most kind and genuine mechanics I have EVER MET!!! Mike was extremely personable. He took his time and explained everything. This place is a gem!
