First time using Jim's and our car insurance carrier told us they had good experience with them. I've seen a couple of bad reviews from people upset etc. but considering the lack of space and number of cars that are being worked on these guys are magicians! (It almost seems every car accident in FL ends up here) We worked/interacted with Carmine, Matt and Penny and also met Jim there on one occasion. They were all very helpful and did their best to accommodate our schedules for getting two dents on our car taken care of (one on roof and drivers side rear panel). Although we had to bring back to get car reprogrammed when we noticed a couple of things not working, they were prompt in having us come back and fixed everything. My observations while there a few times is that customers expect things done immediately and don't want to be inconvenienced. But there is a reason Jim's is so busy-they do good work! read more

We are all dealing with quality of help issues in today's market unfortunately this resulted in a less than favorable, initial impression. What should've been a short turnaround on my truck turned into an extended stay and things weren't 100% when I picked it up.. Just pick up my Tacoma from Jims Body Shop in Seminole and it looks perfect . It needed a passenger fender, Front bumper, headlight, and other small support parts replaced. The fit and finish looks like it never happened. Tyler was in contact with me the 3 days my truck was at the shop and it was done on time as promised !!! I upgraded to the ceramic coating that Tyler had suggested and my truck looks like brand new!!! If I could I would leave negative stars. My brand new 2022 vehicle was rear ended (passenger side) in January of 2023. I took my vehicle to Jim's in February. They had it for 3 weeks when they called to say it was ready. Upon inspecting my vehicle multiple issues were found. There was a scratch in the paint on the back passenger door. The panel that was dented and pushed forward was bumpy and uneven, the panel on the lower back bumper was gouged and knicked like it was drug across the ground. There was a scratch in the paint by the gas tank on the drivers side and below the drivers side taillight it was gouged down to metal. I spoke to Jim the owner and he was very apologetic, never made excuses and said he would have it fixed right away. That was the one and only time he was a decent person. After months of him playing games, never making me a priority and gaslighting me every chance he got he got me in the shop in May. He had me drop off my car on May 3rd and was told it would be done on May 5th. Texted Jim on 5/5 to see if my car was ready he told me no, it was just painted so it needs to dry and will be ready Monday 5/8. I called him Monday and was told it still wasn't ready. I told him he told me Friday it just needed to dry so what's the problem now. He said they don't work weekends, I informed him that no one needs to be there for it to dry. He said it would be done Tuesday. It was not, he then told me it would be done Friday. On Friday 5/12 I picked up my car just to find that there were gouges on my passenger taillight. I mentioned it to one of his detailers , he went inside to let Jim know and the detailer came back out to tell me that Jim said he would order a new taillight and have someone come out to my work so I would not be put out anymore. He didn't even have the decency as the owner to come out himself. A week and half later I had not heard anything so I had my husband call him on 6/2 because I could just not deal with him and his lies anymore. He never replied to my husband so on 6/6 I texted him and he told me he would need to order the taillight even though 2 weeks prior he told his detail guy he would order it then. On 6/20 I texted him cause I hadn't heard anything for a couple weeks. He then told me he had had the taillight for a couple weeks sorry. He said he would have a worker come out 6/26 to install it. On 6/26 I texted him about what time the guy would be coming out. He texted me back that it was going to have to be 6/27 from 9-12. He again played games with me and was delaying this. I texted him that I was sick of everything and I was going to stop by after work and pick up the taillight. So after almost 4 months of going back and forth, his lies and just general bull I am now going to do this myself cause I can't deal with him anymore. I tried so hard to be understanding and patient all Jim did was take advantage of what he considered a weakness. The only times I got him to do anything was when I was assertive and obviously pissed. This man is lying, gaslighting coward! I would highly recommend to anyone to run as fast as they can away from this place and find somewhere else! read more

6/20/13 - I went to Rayco Upholstery in St. Pete to get my convertible top replaced. They dented and scratched the car in 2 places and did not tell us. I saw the dings before leaving the lot and they insisted they would take care of it through their auto body shop, Jim's Body Shop (jimsbodyshop.com) After leaving it for them to take care of, only 1 dent was fixed. So we had to send it back. Then the scratch was "fixed," but none of this was done competently or satisfactorily. There is paint over-spray on headlight seals, the black trim of the top, and the front passenger side. There is a portion that was sanded but not painted and clear-coated. The color on the panels they did and the original does not match. Rayco said they would make it right, but they have done nothing but try to get by with the least, shoddy work--and hope we don't notice. Neither the convertible top nor the body work to correct their reckless work is satisfactory. Jim's Body Shop said they would make it right, but we are not confident in their work. We took the car to our auto mechanic to check over for a road trip and he wondered what we had done to the car?! He said the value of the car is significantly lowered by the poor workmanship and the way the car looks now. We refuse to have the work completed by Rayco (or Jim's) now because we have given them multiple chances and it has only gotten worse. We asked that they open an insurance claim with their company to pay for us to go where we can get competent work done but they have pushed us off. read more

Best Body Shop I've ever been to. Everyone is friendly and attentive. The repairs on my Mustang were top notch. It looks better than new. They even buffed out a couple of small spots I wasn't paying for. Considering they are the busiest Body Shop I have been to, someone was right there to take care of you whether you are getting an estimate, dropping off or picking up. Jim and Tyler have taken care of and painted a couple collector cars for my dad and I. Both came out better than they ever could from the factory. This is the best body shop you will find if you are looking for high end and quality work at fair prices. Wish I could give less than 1 star. Worst body shop around. Completely incompetent. They removed my roof rack, dropped parts into the headllner. Greased up the interior headliner unsuccessfully looking for them. Then when they put the roof rack back on, they literally put silicon into the holes without the bracing plates in two locations hoping the rack would stay on. It was obvious the rack was installed improperly when I inspected it (my wife picked it up at the shop). In addition, the cross members to the roof rack have arrows and numbers indicating orientation. They put the cross members on facing the wrong direction and in the exact wrong order. They also cross threaded most of the new bolts I bought to the point that when I had another shop repair the damage that Jim's had done (because I just couldn't take it back there for more poor workmanship), they had to use many of the old bolts. I have used the other shop for various projects, and they don't like to take negatively about other shops, but they said it was literally the worst job they had ever seen.
