I had a terrible experience with Carsmetics working with Joey on auto body repairs for my Range Rover. After spending thousands of dollars, I picked up my vehicle only to realize the Range Rover emblem was completely missing from the back of my car--even though it was supposed to be replaced. I had to wait almost a full month for them to finally get the emblem in and schedule me to come back. When I returned to have it installed, they put the emblem on crooked and not straight at all. I called immediately to let them know and Joey told me there was nothing he could do because his team used the "styrofoam guide" that comes with the emblem and therefore claimed it should be straight. Even after admitting the issue, he refused to fix the poor workmanship unless I paid more money for additional parts to correct their mistake. This was extremely unprofessional, and I'm disappointed that after paying so much, I still left with sloppy work and no accountability. I would not recommend Carsmetics to anyone. read more

I chose CARSMETICS, 3990 Ulmerton Rd, Clearwater, Fl based on the star ratings on YELP.com even thought their price seemed somewhat high for refinishing the hood and roof panel and head light refinish/restoration of my wife's KIA Soul. ($1681.51). The hood and roof finish looks good but color seems a little darker in the sunlight and the light lenses still have some smudges showing. They also left the lower windshield dirty and white power foot prints on the door sills, arm rest and white specs on the engine. (see pictures). I don't mean to sound petty, but when I pay good price to a highly rated professional I expect to get a complete professional job. Also, they took 7 days to complete job. read more

A highschooler in shop class would've done a better job. They didn't repair all that was damaged. The door that was damaged doesn't line up. I kept hearing a strange sound that sounded like that window was partially open. After further inspection the rubber seal that goes around the door is not straight, wavy, and attached with blue pins that do not hold it very secure. Definitely an aftermarket piece of crap. Since my car uses oil occassionally, I keep a 5 quart bottle of 0W-20 with me. I checked the oil the other day and what was in my car? 5W-30 with 2 quarts left in a Valvoline bottle. I haven't bought Valvoline in years! There also is a piece missing in the part you hold to close the door. The battery was darn near dead and barely started the car. Since I was in the process of moving 2 hours south, starting a new job, and still working long hours at the present job, I did not bring the car back. There was no time. It was several weeks after I picked up the car did I have time to do a thorough inspection. Therefore, not only did they do half the job, the work done was shotty, I had to buy a new battery, the inside of the car was filthy, and they stole a $35 bottle of oil leaving me with 2 quarts of oil that if I didn't notice before I used it, would have destroyed the engine. read more

We went to Carsmedics due to a friend had brought her car there and been satisfied. We made the decision to go with them and scheduled the appointment. We were well informed throughout the process of what parts would be replaced and painted and there was a large part of the front grill/bumper that was not being replaced. We were called just after 5 pm and told our car was ready for pickup. We arrived and waited several minutes before our car was brought around to the front parking area. We were told the car wash part of the process is what caused the delay. We went out to inspect the car and the black grill/bumper piece was smeared with I still don't know what. The gentleman handling our pickup said it was dust and it would come off. I tried rubbing it dry and wet and it was not coming off. Then we noticed the blue paint on the bumper. The gentleman took the car back to the shop and they supposedly did some compounding to get rid of the blue paint and all the smears. He brought the car back to us and I saw no improvement. My husband went inside to pay and I went to sit in the car as I was not feeling well. Upon opening the door I found my mat dislodged from the hooks as well as dirty, the steering wheel, the door panel and the seats all had dirt on them. When the gentleman came back out with my husband i showed him the interior of the car. He said "that's from me getting in and driving it around back. It's just dust." So, I took my dirty car home. I work at a company that does detailing and I hope they can clean it and undo the smears on my grill/bumper. Overall not a great experience. read more

AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE! I drive by this body shop every time I go for a Cuban sandwich across the street. Today I decided to finally swing in there before I went for my lunch just to get an idea of what a repair would cost. I had backed my car into a trailer a bit too fast and it indented and pulled out the bumper from it's regular location. I tried to get everything to snap back into place by myself with no luck. Scott Evans got down on the ground under the car and had completely fixed the bumper within three minutes, now it looks like nothing happened (except for the scratches), everything is back in it's proper place! took my Mercedes to Carsmetics to repair a small crack in the fender and repair some scratches on the rocker panel. When I went to pick up the car, I saw the crack was still visible through the paint. The manager agreed to redo the repair and repaint of the fender panel. When I picked it up the second time I saw the repair was still visible, although less so. When I returned home, I noticed the paint on the rocker panel did not match the car color. I called the manager, but was disappointed when he offered no explanation or any remedy. I guess the final straw was when I went to wash the car, I noticed the fender and door next to the fender was very rough. That's when I realized they got over-spray on these when they repainted the fender. If you like quality workmanship, I would not recommend Carsmetics. read more
