So I'm in the area and it's lunchtime, and I'm thinking I want something that really hits--but I…read morealso wanted a true mom-and-pop spot because I genuinely like supporting local businesses whenever I can. So I hop on Yelp, type in tacos, and bam... Rafa's Taco Truck pops up. The reviews had me thinking, ok... I might've just hit a home run. It was close to me, so I figured let's go check it out and see if the hype was real. I pull up and the truck is nestled right by a gas station, and honestly if you know, you know--sometimes those low-key spots end up having the best food. I ordered the taco plate with carne asada, rice, beans, and two Mexican Cokes because... why not go all in? Let me tell you, these tacos and that rice and beans played an important part of my day lol. One bite instantly took me back to those days of finishing a hard 3-mile run and rewarding myself with tacos after. That first bite just hit differently. The carne asada was flavorful, tender, and seasoned just right. The rice and beans were straight comfort food and completed the plate perfectly. What made the experience even better was the service. The staff was super hospitable, polite, and just genuinely welcoming. That matters to me just as much as good food. Great food always gets my attention, but good people are what make me want to come back. If you happen to see this truck, do yourself a favor and flag them down. Definitely worth the stop.

So. . . My dad and I were hanging out the other day and he asked me " Have you ever been to that…read moreMexican food truck over by the Shell gas station?" Why, no. No, I have it. So I decided to check it out later that day. My daughter and I arrived in the evening and it was freezing cold. The woman working in the truck wasn't very personable, but that could be because of the cold weather and it being towards the end of the day. I don't know. I ordered a shredded beef super burrito with everything, Carne Asada fries and two grilled chicken tacos. Total came out to approximately $37. I wasn't really tripping until I got home and checked out the Carne Asada fries. My burrito was very delicious and the green salsa that they give you is so good and the grilled chicken tacos were good but the Carne Asada fries weren't pleasing. The meat on the fries was seasoned well so it tasted good, but it was just fries at the bottom and then just like a thin layer of meat and cheese on the top. The meat and cheese to fry ratio was off in my opinion. Other than that, everything was great. You can order ahead of time and pick it up, which they are really quick about. When I was trying to figure out what I wanted, I heard the woman talking to a customer who was ordering by phone. The lady told her she could pick up her order in 10 minutes and it was ready very quickly, which is something I love. I'll definitely be back to get that super burrito and to try other things. The food was really good and I definitely recommend checking this truck out.

You…read morecan't miss her adorably painted and decorated baby pink food truck, parked in an empty lot close to Costco. The location may not be ideal, but if you want some sweet treats, coffee, or snacks, it is worth a stop. We braved a freezing Sunday morning to try this new spot. I got a hot banana bread latte to pair with a slice of banana bread and brown butter chocolate chip cookie ($3). OMG I had to take a bite of the cookie as soon as I took it out of the bag. It was perfect: texture, amount of sweetness, flavor, everything you could want in a chocolate chip cookie! I loved the moist and chunky banana bread with walnuts. So good with a nice cup of hot coffee. My banana latte was the bomb! Not too sweet and the banana flavor still came through. Jas said that was her favorite also. Jas is just as sweet as her menu! Service was great, although since she is the only one making the drinks, the wait was a little long. There are a couple tables and chairs and a resident cat (we didn't see it that morning...probably curled up in its little warm house). Look for the pink truck on Stockton Blvd and support Jas and her sweets!
