Decent location for an eco station. Needed to drop off my two larger recyclable items - TV & air…read morepurifier plus the regular amount of household batteries and broken cords we all accumulate over a year. For those not familiar with eco stations, most things you bring in you don't get charged. Only of it's things they can't recycle or if it is plain garbage. For my case I didn't pay anything and can't good it wasn't going into the landfill. Friendly staff at this location and they all will ask enough questions to help get a person to the right areas/assist with unloading. Bins are decently spaced out for good flow of traffic and ease to pull up. Bin area and surrounding lot was well cleared of snow. The main centre yesterday was operating with one bay (#2) and still had numerous staff on hand to help unload and sort. As I was driving in, I noticed some great examples of upcycled Christmas cheer and I'm kicking myself for not taking more photos of the creative things like the tire Christmas tree. I do want to warn yelpers that this location has a very subtle entrance (you see a very clear large sign for the eco station but not at the entrance only at the curb along the street driving up to the actual entrance and less clear sign positioned further back indicating the entrance of the eco station roadway). It oddly has a much longer road than most to enter winding around the 1/2 the facility (assuming that's in order to help with summer higher traffic flow, as I've seen other stations back up with vehicles waiting on the main streets before but I mention this as one you turn in there's no getting back out until the official exit). I don't mind that bit of extra driving and as I was one of the few there, it was quick but I found it odd that a city facility doesn't have the road cleared within its fences but only the yard area of the bins. So definitely make sure you have winter tires to make it in and out of this facility area if you go during the colder months of the year. I also want to add that I didn't know there was a reuse centre at this location. Unfortunately I didn't know about it until exiting (when taking the photo), so I didn't ask about operation hours nor did staff mention if it was even open or that it was even there. Maybe it has different operating hours at the moment or is closed in winter? Maybe it's like the other reuse centres and not open yet? Who knows during the pandemic, as things can change so much in just a week. I'll be sure to investigate further on my next visit and report back.

It's an experience that makes me realize how privileged I am to be an Edmontonian!! *sniff* Anyhow, this Eco Station is a part of a futuristic mecca where conscientious citizens drop off recyclable, hazardous and/or reusable materials for little to no cost, cuz that's how we roll. Last time we dropped off a BBQ and picked up a patio chair. I also get the sense that this is a place for young people to get work experience and build their CVs. I am very happy my municipal taxes pay for a service like this. There's a Reuse centre onsite as well.

If you find Lonely Cars to far away they will pick up your vehicle and take it to a nice place for hibernation. They also make sure the vehicles are all hooked up to Battery Tenders so that the battery does not go flat over long stays. The facility is a large heated building and you can rest assured your vehicle will be kept in good company, Porsches are together, Mustangs are together what ever you have to put away I am sure they will have something suitable to park it with. They do have over 200 vehicles hanging out, from people people as far away as Calgary, the reputation has made them one of the quickest growing facilities of this type around. When it comes time to pick up your vehicle they will even wash it up so you can take it right to a show afterwards if you like. Something John showed me also interested me and it peaked my interest was a nice little DVR set up that he can have mounted in your vehicle while it is tucked away for a long winter nap. The quality is great as it is High Def, and think about the many uses you could have it for. Set it to motion sensitive and you will be able to see if anyone was to close to your baby. It can also be set to activate when the vehicle is turned on so you can have a detailed log of your trip so in the event of an accident you have the info you need. It can even be portable if you need to do a vehicle walk around like for rental cars. I have found it pretty handy but he did not need to twist my arm to know it would be good to have. Just one of the other convenient ways they look for to help satisfy the customers. I know that when it comes to vehicle storage a lot of people are doing it, but none can do it as well as I have seen Lonely Cars do it. With a clean and spacious facility, backed by great customer service, they are the first place I refer customers too which is why I gave them 5 stars.

I needed a place to store my Mustang for the winter. Some co-workers of mine had used Lonely Cars…read morebefore and were full of raves so I emailed them for an estimate. At first they weren't sure if they would have a spot for me because it was late in the season (end of October). I'm a procrastinator and I wouldn't have been true to myself if I had planned ahead. They called me a week later to let me know that they had a vacancy. They came to my house to pick up the car and loaded it on to their flatbed and trucked it away. While your car is in storage they offer other services such as tire rotations, oil changes, battery service, and weekly/monthly starts. I didn't take them up on those services because I just wanted a place to store the vehicle. Their storage facility is heated, alarmed, and insured. They don't charge a pick-up/drop-off fee if you're storing your vehicle for six months or more. Otherwise they charge $98 for pick-up and another $98 for drop-off. I would have driven the vehicle right to them but, like I said, I'm a procrastinator and the snow was already on the ground. A Mustang is nothing but a Krazy Karpet in the snow so... Fast forward to mid April: I email and say I'm ready for my Mustang again, could they deliver it to me? (They ask for 72 hours notice prior to your requested delivery time. No problem.) They haul the car back here on the back of their flatbed truck, and lo and behold, they had washed the car for me and wiped down the interior. That was an unexpected bonus. Their communication over the phone and via email are excellent and they are very personable. Highly recommended for all of your vehicle storage needs. They offer a 10% discount to military members. Better than taking your stuff to the dump!…read more The Eco Station is GREAT for taking recycling your electronics, paints (they have a free pick up program), scrap metal (think trampoline or swing set), and large household furniture that is broken. They do their best to sort through it later so that it doesn't just fill up a landfill. The staff are always FRIENDLY - yes, totally they are - and helpful. Absolutely love this place. At times the line up can be quite long so you're better off going during the middle of the day. Fees are quite reasonable for disposal here and some items are free to leave here like electronics.
