I got this referral from a friend, took my Lexus 460 in, dings scratches everywhere, it was in bad shape. Tyler was amazing. I got seven quotes and this was the least expensive and I have to tell you I couldn't be more impressed with the quality of work.. I know a lot about cars, how to repair damage, etc. and they did a fantastic job. I did not want the car completely painted, they only painted what was necessary. They stayed within budget , it took a little bit longer than planned for just a few days, but worth the wait. The Detail job was fabulous. The paint job was fabulous. I was referred here by Sterling BMW to get my windows tinted. I got a decent price. Paid about $40 less than what I would have paid at my first choice place I would have gone to, TW Tinting where a buddy of mine got his car tinted without any issues. Unfortunately my frugal mind and trusting the referral got me to use Jimmy's and I regret it. They might be a good car wash but they can't do a good tint job that's clean without bubbles, creases, and debris under the film. A picture is worth a thousand words so I've attached mine. I had the two back windows redone and they still didn't come out right and I hate hearing "this is a difficult car". Then why do other tint jobs on the same car look perfect that were done somewhere else? Lame excuses. Now I have to go back and waste more time, take more time from work to have them fix my front driver quarter window. Tint your window somewhere else. read more

First, this is not a place you come to drive your car through a wash, but a high-quality spot to get a full detail and/or work done on your car. With both the detailing and the bodywork, my experience here was unbelievable. Tyler worked personally with me to arrange for *many* cosmetic fixes and a full detail on my black car for a very fair price. Knowing nothing about cars, at first I thought the detailing sounded expensive but for the work that they did, it feels like an amazing deal. My car hasn't looked this amazing since the day I got it-- even the engine is sparkling! I had felt a little embarrassed to drive my car around, and now I feel happy every time I see it. So first off this is not a car wash anymore, it was back in the day but not anymore. Don't do what I did and drive around looking for the car wash entrance because you will not find one. I don't know why this place is called Jimmy's Hand Car Wash because they do not wash cars. The guy told me that they do other things but that they closed the car wash. I can't believe that there aren't tons of reviews on here about how great Jimmy's is! Jimmy's is great. The end. Seriously, though...The guys at Jimmy's do a great job washing your car. Sure, it's more expensive and it takes longer than Beacon Bay, but they do a MUCH better job. It's a total hand-wash. They vacuum thoroughly, wash completely, then hand dry and also use the compressed air to make sure that you aren't going to drive away with drips from your doorsills and side mirrors. They wipe the inside doorsills completely. There's always a slew of BMWs, Mercedes, Audis, Range Rovers, and the occasional Subaru, too. I've never used their detailing service, but always see cars getting the first class treatment. Also, this is where Sterling BMW Body Shop takes all their cars for wash/detail before returning to its owners. This is my new goto carwash and detailing place in Newport. They did a great job on my car. I watched their detailers working and talked to some of the workers, you can tell that they know what they are doing and take pride in their jobs. They are also used to dealing with really nice cars so they know the do's and dont's when washing and detailing high end vehicles. I have had some mixed luck in Irvine by the airport. Leaving Jimmy's left me feeling satisfied I feel that I got what I payed for and it was money well spent. If you haven't tried Jimmy's check it out. Really rude.. The sign clearly says open, so I pulled in on the side. The people working weren't even helpful. My first time here and definitely will never come back. The guy just says we're close in a very rude manner. Horrible customer service. The gate was closed but there's a sign that says OPEN? Hoping to stop in for a quick car wash, I ended up getting into a digressing cost discussion where one guy tried to upsell me to a full detail for $120 ($149 value), then another guy came over and told me not to listen to him. The new guy then told me $149 was the starting price for small cars and my SUV would be extra, but couldn't give me a straight answer on how much extra. The downward haggling then commenced where he ended up "selling" me on the $23 basic wash, explaining that the wheel detail I wanted would be pointless because of the current state of the rims. After settling with the simple wash, guy #1 came back over and secretly upsold me to the originally offered full detail for $120. Not sure who's working for who here and what's really going on, but if you're looking for a straight price on a wash or detail, you may want to look elsewhere. I came here with my mother to get our cars washed at the advertised price on the website ($16), when we got there they had tape over the $16 price and told us it would be $20. I told him the website said $16 and he said "sorry, we don't honor the website". EXCUSE ME? Horrible customer service!!! I'll stick to Beach Cities down the street, where for $21 I get a spotless wash and friendly vibes from the workers. Also, the waiting area is disgusting. A dirty old leather couch with spots all over it. Time to update the atmosphere and staff!! I even tried to call the customer service line and there was no answer. I have been going to Jimmy's detail for about 10 years. He has tinted, detailed, painted, fixed dents and scratches on 3 BMWs, a Toyoya Camry, and a Porsche. I have always been 100% satisfied with his work. If you go to Sterling BMW in Newport Beach and ask them to tint your car, repair a door ding, change the wheel color, black it out, etc., they take the car to Jimmy's detailing. I needed a good amount of work done on my car. The insurance guy came out and wrote estimates for the work and then suggested a Body Shop in Tustin. I dropped the car off while out of town... I get a call from them telling me it's going to be $2500 extra out of pocket due to what they thought was a previous accident. I take the car back to Sterling BMW in newport beach where I bought the car certified pre-owned and they recommend me to Jimmy and his team. When I came to pick the car up... I was honestly not sure it was my car! It was perfect! Not until I opened trunk and all my junk was back was I sure... being that it's got a surf rack on top it's really an accomplishment! Took our 4 year old Honda Civic into Jimmy's for a complete detail and also a steam clean of the engine. We dropped it off in the morning and they pretty much had the car all day. When they called and said it was done we knew of course it would be a lot cleaner but we had no idea it would look this good. When we walked up it looked like a brand new car. Open the doors the seats and carpet looked perfect no spots, stains, nothing. The car inside and out looked amazing! I have had car details before but I have never seen one done this good. Hands down the best car wash place around! I have been bringing my cars here for 4 years and have never been disappointed when I pull away. At first glance it doesn't look like much. Small parking lot, cheesy tropical theme, but plenty of seating in shaded areas. As your car begins its journey it starts off getting vacuumed thoroughly, under the mats, seats and the trunk. Next it goes to get hand washed. After this it goes to the dryers. They pay attention to the small details. Not only is it hand dried, but they even use compressed air to get the water out of the side view mirrors and away from the window trim. They also wipe clean the interior. Last, the tire get 'dressed' making them look brand new. This all was included in the basic car wash package that starts at $15 for standard size cars. Trucks and SUV's start around $25. They also have full detail packages that start at $90. Check em out and love your car! read more

I came to Jimmy's hand car wash and detail and got a express wax for $45. This is probably the only car wash I've been to where the guys working there take their time and seem to actually care about the cleanliness of your car. With that being said they did a thorough job and it only took about 40 minutes to complete my car. They even polished my muffler! Haha awesome job guys read more

The guy running the show here is pretty sleazy. The place is one big hustle. I had a deal with him to shampoo ONE carpet. He said $20, I thought that was a little high but I wanted to get it done. He finishes in 5 minutes and then tries to charge me $40!! You can get a wash, wax, shampoo of all carpets anywhere else for this price! Always pay with credit card here as I am sure this guy pockets all the cash anyone gives him. Do yourself a favor and go to Ed's Detail off Baker. Not happy with this place at all anymore. They raised their prices (only a dollar but still raised them) and the service seems to have gotten worse. I usually have to remind them every time to wipe out my center console and cupholders; there's always visible debris there so I don't know how they miss them. Today I noticed I had streaks all over my windows and water spots on my doors where they didn't completely dry the car. This is a $10 wash kind of place at best, yet they charge $17 for a sedan. Did a $50 car wash today which included a wax job, cleaning the interior and etc. when I picked up the car after few hours, it looked like a basic car wash, the one which goes for $15. Disappointing. My mother was coming into town so I dropped my car off here for a good inside cleaning. (I had just taken my labbie for a road trip so there were some kibbles left in between my seats). I came back for my car over an hour later and I don't even think they cleaned the inside. It didn't even look like it was swept, the windows weren't cleaned and the dash was still a mess. I've taken my cars to Jimmys for detailing for a while but I've never used his auto repair / collision service until this past week. Someone backed up into my SUV so I needed the front bumper sanded/repainted and a small tear in the passenger seat fixed (they actually had to replace the leather piece, have it perforated with the Lexus tooling, color dye IT to match, re stitch it to the seat, etc...). Jimmy's did an outstanding job on my car. My overly anxious dog does not fair well on long car rides and after a trip out to my parents house my back seat was covered in nasty drool. I cleaned it out the best I could but on my black seats it still looked disgusting. I came in at around 4pm. No wait, very friendly. The guy shampooed my seats free of charge. Seats looked like new. They were also very quick without cutting any corners. I will most defiantly bring my car back to Jimmy's. I just hope that they are consistent. read more

After reading the glowing reviews on Yelp, I was expecting car washing magic. I even drove to the other side of town (about 20 mins.) to experience this cleaning paradise. When I got there, I felt like I was thrown into a 1970's theme party. There were a couple of tiki huts strewn about (you even pay at a tiki hut), a large seating area covered by a thatched roof to provide shading, and a huge tropical-themed mural that wrapped around the building. It was lunch time, so it was jamming! There were a bunch of BMWs and Mercedes' which I guess is a good sign. Even though it was busy, they were quick and the people were really nice. There were still a few bits of dirt in my center console/cup holder thing when it was all over, but not enough to complain about. All in all, my car looked really clean. Was it a magical experience? No. Would I use them again? If I'm in the area, sure. read more
