Overall, I would say the service met 80% of my expectations. I went with the $45 Luxury Wash (totaling $53 after adding an $8 tip). The best part was that they fully removed the bird droppings from the car's surface and made the tires look fresh and new again. The dust on the front dashboard was mostly cleaned, though a bit was still visible. The two front center storage compartments--the space right under the cup holders--weren't cleaned well. I was very much disappointed from the results. Read some pretty good reviews so I decided to give this place a try. They have a nice and comfortable lounge/ waiting room so I'll give them that. However, I came for a luxury wash and they did not deliver. Considering my car is new and I keep the inside pretty immaculate, they only really needed to focus on washing and drying it right. I checked my car after, opened the trunk and water was dripping everywhere meaning the guy didn't bother wiping it all down to really dry my car. There were still white streaks on the edges of my door as well that I was able to remove by wiping with my fingers. He missed those too. There was no attention to basic details. I went to Beach Cities Car Wash this past weekend and had a great all around experience from easily driving up, being greeted by a nice Gentleman, to passing over the key, and chilling in their very comfortable lounge while the large team of detailers get to work. They have so many hand wash stalls with plenty of capacity. I have a convertible so I only wash my car by hand. It usually takes me about 45 min to an hour to just wash the outside including wheels myself. The guys at Beach Cities washed the entire outside, vacuumed and cleaned the inside including inside of the glass, and shined the wheels/tires in less than 25 minutes all by hand, no drive through machines at all and for only $45. My car now looks immaculate and smells great. This is a great value and Im surprised I didnt know about this place before. I saw a beautiful Luxury SUV inside the shop getting a full detail where two pro's were waxing and polishing out the entire suv and it looked better than brand new. The detail pricing is very fair too. Im definitely keeping this place in mind for a good wax and polish next time i need one. read more

Been coming here for years and not sure if it's because they're slow and getting unenthused about the work but last three times I've been total shit. This last time they didn't even clean the entire front bumper or hood of the car. Just got off of a long drive and have a bunch of bird stuff everywhere and it's all still there. I was the only car when I got there. They weren't even busy and they couldn't do it right. I took my car to the Costa Mesa location and got the basic wash package with a light vacuum. The price is reasonable, and the work is consistently good quality over multiple visits I've made. There's also a nice little indoor lounge with a waiting area, big chairs, and a couple of sofa seats. The work is usually very fast, the staff is professional & friendly, and if you want any additional services beyond the basic wash and vacuum, there are plenty of extra packages to choose from -- all the way up to showroom-level detailing. I'm not sure if the price will change in the future, but for the basic wash and light interior wipe down vacuum, it's $40, external only is even cheaper at $26. No later than 30 minutes after waiting, my car was already finished! They wiped everything down very nicely in all areas of my vehicle, plus it looked more shiny than any other car wash I've gotten. This place has gone downhill. I spent $45 dollars to get my car washed today. They are supposed to shampoo the floor mats. Before they would take them out of the car and scrub and spray them. Now they just vacuum them inside the car and put some pathetic lines in them with a brush. When questioned they aren't interested in making things right. Exterior left a lot to be desired to. I have a white dog who gets her hair everywhere and unfortunately i have very little storage at home so i keep more things in my car than i would like. My car doesn't look clean. it looks brand new! Finally found a car wash in California that actually cleans my car! Been living here since 2014 and Beach Cities Car Wash is the real deal. After reading tons of reviews and noticing how the owner takes time to respond to both good and bad feedback, I had to check them out. Best decision ever! What blew me away? I didn't have to bring my trusty microfiber towel to fix all the spots they missed - because there weren't any! These folks actually cleaned my ENTIRE car. They even got inside my rims, thoroughly vacuumed the carpets, even the trunk, and properly wiped down the interior. I'm already planning to bring my other car here for detailing. Thinking about trying their ceramic coating and window tinting too since they clearly know what they're doing. If you're tired of paying for half-done car washes, give Beach Cities a shot. Good wash quality, but management consistently ignores a simple, clearly stated request. To be fair, this car wash does several things very well. The vehicles are always cleaned thoroughly, the waiting area is comfortable, and service is completed in a timely manner. I've never had an issue with a car not being clean when it's finished. Unfortunately, there is one recurring issue that has made this place unusable for me despite spending well over $1,000 here and bringing multiple vehicles over time: my repeated request for no tire dressing on my truck. On every visit, I clearly and calmly state that I do not want tire shine. I tell the cashier, the employee who takes the vehicle forward, and on my most recent visit I told three separate people, including Ivan and another manager. Despite this, my truck always comes out with heavy, oily tire dressing applied. The dressing then flings onto the sides of the truck, leaving visible residue and stains that require additional cleaning and detailing. When I point this out, the detailers who come out are apologetic and clearly unaware of the request, which strongly suggests the issue is not with the workers, but with management failing to communicate customer instructions. More concerning is that when this happens, the solution is never to actually remove the product properly or make it right--it is simply wiped down, leaving residue behind. This does not address the issue and feels dismissive after it has been raised repeatedly. I've read responses from ownership on other reviews, and they tend to be defensive rather than accountable. I hope this feedback is taken in the constructive spirit intended, because this is not a complicated request--it just needs to be respected and communicated. read more

I am always driving past here on my way to work during the week promising I will stop by one day, and I finally did Nov.1. My first time here, and I had the guy wash my Mercedes today. I really liked the relaxing indoor waiting area with a TV that shows the cars outside so you can see when your car is ready. Someone will also come inside to tell you your car is ready as well. I came by on a Monday morning after a nearby appointment on a whim, and they were able to take me for a $40 luxury hand wash to include exterior wash and light interior vacuum for my Toyota Camry (larger cars are $50). They estimated 45 mins and although their customer lounge is quite small, it was super well air-conditioned with a TV, super comfy couches, chilled waters, and is nicely decorated. The only thing I didn't realize was that they don't tell you when your car is done and you instead have to keep watch on their monitor in the lounge. I would've appreciated a heads up on that, as the 45 mins turned into 1.5 hours as I was patiently waiting. Still, my car turned out great and they definitely fulfilled what was promised. The outside was thoroughly washed and fully dried, and interior was well-vacuumed and thoroughly wiped down, but not super deep cleaned per the option I paid for. I would definitely say that it was worth the $40 + tip I paid, and I'd definitely be back again if I were in the area. Arrived mid morning on a Saturday and was pleased there were many people working and there wasn't a crazy wait. I paid for a mini detail but I don't feel that's what I got. It was done in 45 minutes and I'm not sure I got the full mini detail service (ie. Shampooed carpets). Car looked good and I would come back, but I would definitely watch the service on the cameras next time. They have a really nice waiting area and super clean bathrooms! Just to preface, my car wasn't too dirty to begin with, I just like to keep it clean. Maybe it was just an off day because they weren't too busy when I went, but the whole process to get your car washed was all over the place. It doesn't really give instructions on how they do it here, I sat in my car a while waiting for someone to acknowledge I was there. Finally asked and they said to basically get out of the car, pay first then go back and drive my car towards the washing area. Umm, okay. Then I didn't know if I should keep my keys in the car and it looked like they had a little bucket in the wash area for the keys.... Didn't know that was there. And to support a previous reviewer, there really should be a better process to tell people in the lounge that their vehicle is done. I get my car and it looks pretty good, but like other reviews said I had to go back and wipe spots that the cleaners missed. I do have my own towels in the trunk and I was parked pretty much by the road, so I just wiped it and left. The inside was fine, didn't see much done in there. For a $50 wash I think it could've been better but there's really not many places around that does hand wash so if you can overlook those things, check this place out. read more

Came here for the first time to get a car wash. I got here a little before 11:30 to just get an exterior wash and tell me why it took nearly an hour and a half to wash the outside of my car? I've been waiting in their customer lounge til 12:52 and no one told me my car was ready until I had to ask someone what's going on.
