We were the only ordering customers. Another couple there already had their food. When I came back 15 minutes later she was standing in the back talking to her con worker. When she saw me she grabbed the bag in front of her and walked it toward me. I asked for paper plates. "You're eating it here now?" " Yes, outside." Eye roll. Goes in the back and they must be wayyyy in the back, and retrieves paper plates. Instead of handing them to me she holds them hostage as she opens the entire canister of napkins and hands me 1/2 the stack with the paper plates and says, "here you go" I'll let you know how the sandwich tastes if I feel like eating it. Sorry Planet Sub~ have employees check their attitudes at the door~ customer service is EVERYTHING

I had the roast beef with pepper jack cheese and toppings. The bread was crusty and tasted freshly made, it was delicious. I also did not love the ambiance of the restaurant. It felt tacky and like it was out of the 80's. Overall if I could give a lower review I would. It also seems like they do not know what they are trying to do. There is just a lot going on with the menu, and I am confident if they focused their menu, it would be much better.

I stopped at Big Boys Subs in Washington, MO on my way home from a weekend of camping and I'm so…read moreglad I did. When I walked in, I was greeted right away. Super friendly staff and the place was BUSY (always a good sign). I could tell a lot of locals eat here because people seemed to know the employees, and one guy was even piecing together punch cards to score a discount . Inside there are tables, chairs, and even a little bar to sit at. I ordered the Cod Sub, the Buffalo Chicken Sub, and the Raspberry Chipotle Chicken Sandwich (mine without bacon because of a red meat allergy). While I waited, they offered me a glass of water which was a nice touch. The smell when I opened my food in the truck was AMAZING. I went straight for the Raspberry Chipotle Chicken Sandwich--grilled chicken, cheese, that sweet & tangy chipotle raspberry sauce, all on one of the freshest buns I've had in a long time. Juicy, flavorful, and came with fries that were seasoned just right. Honestly, I wish I had a side of that raspberry chipotle sauce just for the fries because the ones that caught extra sauce were SO good. The other two subs had to wait until I got home that night, but even a few hours later they held up. The Cod Sub was thick, flaky, and perfectly topped. The Buffalo Chicken Sub had good flavor without being overwhelming (and I'm kind of a spice wimp, so if I can handle it, it's definitely on the milder side). And can we talk about the bread? SO good. I don't know if they bake it in-house or get it from somewhere special, but it's not your standard cheap sandwich bread. It really makes the difference. Overall, I'm super impressed. Great food, great service, and clearly a local favorite. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town--probably after my next camping trip. If you live in Washington and haven't tried this place yet, you're missing out. And if you're just passing through on your way to I-44, do yourself a favor and grab a sub to go.

We also remembered these subs which were catered as late night snacks at their wedding, so we knew they were going to be good. Oh man. Even better than we remembered. The toasted raviolis were FIRE! I went with a shrimp po boy and my hubby went for the spicy Italian with a side of wings. We both took a bite of our food, looked at each other and said, "yum." Even the wings were impressive. They had the right crisp that a good wing should have when you take that initial bite. The meat was juicy and the flavor of the buffalo was on point. The subs had such good bread that we agreed that it must be made on site. Now if that is true or not, we do not know nor does it matter. But it is goooood. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't already. We will def be back next time we visit.
