    "Roast beef" sandwich
    Josh H.

If I wanted a lettuce sandwich I would have made one at home. I got home today with sandwiches for my wife and I only to find 2 pieces of meat on each sandwich. Literally 2 slices. I'll attach photos. How do they consider this a sandwich? I basically paid $30 for some bread and lettuce. Ridiculous. We'll be going to Firehouse subs from now on

What a dump. Service is as slow as molasses. So sorry I came here to eat. Gonna take a pass next time.

We stopped in for a quick sandwich on our way to another appointment. There wasn't anyone in the place when we walked in, but once they spotted our car out front, several people came in. I always have a hard time decifering the menu board to find exactly what I want, and end up asking the cashier if they have "Sandwich B". I ordered the #4 Turkey with the fixins. My husband got the slim Turkey without any fixins. These are 8" sandwiches, and it never fails, I have a hard time eating those last 2" of sandwich. You can order a 4" with limited selection, but that is just a bit small for me. 6" is perfect, but they don't offer that at Jimmy Johns. They didn't give us napkins with our order, and they are not placed out with the drinks or on the table, so I wandered around a bit before asking the cashier where the napkins are stored. Ah yes, they keep them behind the service counter so you will have to ask for them. The same was true for the drink lids and straws, they keep them on top of the drink dispenser so short people like me that never look up, would have a hard time finding them. I'm not sure if a child would be able to reach them at all in that location.

I ordered two small menudos priced at 13.99 with tortillas. It took over 45 minutes to get my food, I watched as one of the cooks had already prepped my menudo which sat for 30 minutes on the counter while I waited for 3 tacos....i was already in dismay as the food was sitting getting cold. I asked after 35 minutes how much longer my food was going to take since I could see my menudo sitting. (Not sure who likes cold food) One of the younger cashiers decided to help get my order finished, granted the restaurant was not even busy. When I finally I received my order, I double checked to make sure I had tortillas, when I did not. I asked for them, the girl decided to say at the moment that to go orders do not come with tortillas, I asked her to print my receipt because I knew I was charged a decent amount for the menudo with tortillas. Once she printed the receipt I realized not only did she overcharge me for the size of my menudo, she charged me the price with tortillas. I informed them that I paid with tortillas but the restaurant refused to give me tortillas without me paying for them again!!! Like what????? So they charged me another 7.74 for 6 tortillas, then tried to justify the higher prices for "surcharges" all of this is illegal there are no signs and it is not on my receipt. I have already filed a complaint with the AG, because I would have never paid attention had I received tortillas. Pay attention to your receipts, I had also tipped these people on a to go order..... When I called them out another young female cashier started to give me attitude saying I could leave after I said this is illegal. How dare I protect other consumers and my wallet! Never again!

The employee who served us stated that it had been prepared that day and identified it as flounder. When we returned home, we shared the fish with our entire family, including a child. We ate only about one-third of it. By the next morning, everyone became ill, experiencing fever, chills, bloating, and diarrhea. We could not eat anything the following day except water and bananas. This was a very unpleasant experience, and we are concerned that the fish may have been expired, improperly stored, or undercooked. Upon closer inspection, the actual piece of fish appeared to be very small, while most of the surrounding coating had a grayish color and a spongy, sticky, and undercooked texture. It almost seemed as though additional filler had been used to increase the product's weight. The taste was not fresh at all, and it had an odor similar to an old fish tank. The fish seemed old and may have been stored in the freezer for an extended period of time. The surrounding substance resembled soggy breading or undercooked batter. Overall, something seemed very wrong with the product. Customers should be especially cautious when purchasing this type of food for their children. We had to throw the food away, resulting in a complete waste of money. This situation appears to have been caused by poor judgment or unprofessional handling of the product, which is very disappointing from a customer standpoint.

When I lasted visited I was looking for French holiday chocolates. Obviously, I didn't find any. More specifically, the French holiday chocolates are called Papillotes. Papillotes are wrapped like little presents and have decorative ribbons and tassles at the end. We did find similar chocolates in the bins by the meats and cheese. Those chocolates were good not as good as French or Belgium chocolates but its as close as we're going to find in the Boise area. We have not purchased any other items but perhaps when my Mom is back in March, we'll purchase some Mortadella for her to try. Ordering was quick, though with all the delicious options, it did take a long time to choose what to eat. I ended up trying the hot pastrami sandwich called the "Santana" and my friend ordered the Turkey, bacon and avocado sandwich. We splurged on fries. Lunch took about 10 minutes and in deli fashion, wrapped in butcher paper. I was smitten kitten after my first bite of the Santana; perfectly toasted marbled rye, creamy coleslaw that tasted freshly made (not too tangy, just a hint of pepper), slathered with thousand island dressing cradling a neat stack of perfectly trimmed hot pastrami. Every bite was downright perfection. Yes, I debated leaving half for later...but lost that internal debate. Fries were thick and battered, perfectly fried with a very nice fry sauce. Highly recommend getting the fries with any of the sandwiches. My friend's turkey sandwich looked crafted instead of made...with the shredded lettuce, crispy bacon, layers of turkey on the softest, hugest sandwich roll. She could stop at half but that sandwich was huge! Definitely worth every cent. I woke up the next morning wanting to go again that day...if that's not proof enough that this place is exceptional, I don't know what else is.
