We were looking for a local non-chain lunch option in Laramie on a road trip, and 2nd Street Deli…read morewas a huge hit! My husband had the turkey basil cheddar sandwich on homemade bread, and I had the very generously portioned Bombay spinach salad. They were excellent, the service was prompt and attentive with a smile, and we said, afterward, that we would make a point to come here every time we go through Laramie, which is usually two or three times a year. However, another element of our experience set this establishment even higher in our estimation. Following our lunch stop, we were about 3 hours and 150 miles north of Laramie when I discovered I was missing my purse. I remembered I had slung it over the back of my chair at the deli, thinking, "Don't forget this!" and I DID. It had my wallet, driver's license, credit cards, cash and passport inside, and we were on a road trip from CO to WA, where I would be for a month. Couldn't exactly come back to get it too easily. I called, and one of the staff confirmed they had found my purse, and it looked to be intact. Well, long story short, they sent it to my destination in Seattle, Priority Express Mail, and they wouldn't even let me pay for the costly postage, let alone give a gratuity to the person who so kindly took time to box and send it from the post office. I was just floored by this above-and-beyond service -- not to mention the relief I felt, knowing that all my important financial means were in that purse, for nearly a month's worth of traveling. Thank from the bottom of my heart to this wonderful team. I am so incredibly grateful to this kind and caring staff, and I recommend their food very highly, too! Be sure to stop here in Laramie. We will certainly be back!

The chilli sent me straight here, because I need to share this goodness with the world. Those little ladies home-make & bake everything. As a Cheyenne resident everybody knows about the bread basket, so for those around here is your reminder; and for those passing through & like white chili, cabbage burgers, breakfast burritos, white chili and like being SMACKED in my face with sweet smell of sugar, sweets & baked pastries when you walk in - then maybe it's time you add this stop as your next afternoon lunch break or on your families early morning out (you can call ahead & have country gravy or bacon/egg burritos made for pick up!!!!), or as your next friends birthday or bbq sweet treat. Everything is is made fresh & when they are out, they are out. So if it's a special stop or you're thinking ahead - I would call an order in the night before! Seriously how many bakeries do you know that you can call at 10:00 am and ask them for a German chocolate cake slice for your 74 year old neighbor, and they are out so they make you a personal cupcake for $7 and it's ready by 1??? JUST THE BREADBASKET! They have early hours, so plan ahead! Items I can promise will be delicious: white chili (obviously), country gravy burritos, sloppy joes, any type of granola, strudels, and German chocolate cupcakes... but that is just from my experience. Might need to go buy some cookies now. Thank you ladies for feeding Cheyenne!!!!!!!! Ps not a lot of seating, but there are parks close by! :)

Btw, I have been to France many times on business, have eaton at some of the best restaurants in Paris, really good, just not to my taste. Ok, we went here last Sunday, I wasn't hungry, but my wife was, so we thought we would use the card. Wife ordered a beef dip, one of her favorite sandwiches, not on my top 10 list. I ordered a charcuterie plater, figured we could take it home, which we did. Anyway, I took a bit of her sandwich, and even though I wasn't hungry, I ate about half of it. One of the best sandwiches I have ever had of any kind. Very simple but delicious. Baguette was amazing, beef appeared to be cured somehow, huge flavor, au jus was great. Today I am going to Timnath to meet a friend for lunch and I am going to make a 30 minute detour to get a sandwich for us for dinner. Not inexpensive, but worth it. However, I've heard from others that this place is super popular, and during the peak summer season, there is usually a line waiting right out the door, and after eating here, I can totally see why! In fact, we loved it so much that we tried to go back the very next day, but unfortunately, they were closed (they are closed two days of the week, so be sure to check their hours!). All of their meats are cured in house and served on their fresh baked bread each day. They are vegetarian friendly and offer vegan and gluten free options. They also offer breakfast items like burritos. Be aware their sandwiches are loaded with ingredients and big. I could only eat half of my sandwich. I do appreciate the size though as you never know how hungry you are going to be after a long hike especially in this altitude. We went with the turkey sandwich and added cheese, all kinds of toppings and a spread. These sandwiches were very tasty and all the veggies on the sandwich were so fresh. Their baked goods looked so inviting especially the cinnamon rolls. I will have to come back! Service was efficient and helpful. Parking can be a bit of a challenge when they are busy. It was the perfect stop before entering the park!
