One of the best burgers I've ever had! We stopped at Born In A Barn while visiting Laramie and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. The burger was absolutely incredible--easily a top-five burger of all time for me. Great flavor, cooked perfectly, and everything tasted fresh. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed, and the service was great as well. If you're anywhere near Laramie, this place is absolutely worth a stop. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town. Once upon a time, there was a foodie dude who loved wings. The dude brought his family up to Laradise to do a little skiing since Colorado had no snow (1-2026). The dude brought his family to Born in a Barn and had a fantastic meal of wings. These wings were smoked crisp and the sauces were fantastic. He considered this the second best wing he ever had ingested. Fantastic. Fast forward (9-2026). Dude is camping up in the mountains with some bros. Brags this place up to point of being a nuisance. He gets his whole crew to agree to go. Imagine his surprise when, upon being seated and looking at the menu, he sees nothing about wings. Turns out, they took the best thing off the menu. Disappointment is an understatement. His friends, being good friends, proceed to ridicule him to no end. We order pretzel bites, 2 guys order burgers. 2 guys order hotdogs (?!?), and 2 guys simply abstain. Pretzel bites were burnt (didn't know this was possible). Burgers were over cooked. We saw some good reviews on this place to we gave it a try. We arrived and it wasn't too busy yet. We were sat in the back room in a booth. We were near the back door of the kitchen but there were TV's to watch while we waited. I ordered the Bleu Bacon Burger with fries and my husband got the Plainsman burger with tater tots. My burger was delicious, and not too greasy. The bun was soft and the bleu cheese was tasty in combination with the bacon and the balsamic sauce. The burger was cooked well also. The French fries were nice and crispy but not overcooked. I took some home as I could not eat everything. My husband was not as happy with his meal. He did not eat the bun with his dietary restrictions and found that there just wasn't much there without the bun. The burger was overcooked and the cheese and green chili's could not save it. The tots tasted a bit like old grease to me, and he didn't really like the flavor either. I would definitely recommend the regular fries and the bleu burger was awesome. read more

4 of us went to Born In A Barn yesterday. We ordered Barncho Tots as an appetizer for us all. Truly wonderful. And then...We ordered 3 different kinds of burgers. A classic burger. It was ok. The Philly which my wife said was pretty good. And two of ordered The Popper. I ordered mine medium rare. To be clear, the waitress said she "would try". Well...it was well done. As were all of the burgers. Should note, the fries were fine. So after ordering 1 appetizer, 2 beers, 2 glasses of wine, and 4 well done burgers and spending $121 before tip the general consensus was, ok but will not return. Service was wonderful. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the new tot appetizer menu. She took her time and made sure we ordered our burgers exactly how we wanted them. Burgers were FANTASTIC!! Probably one of the best I've had. I had the cowboy Joe. The candied jalapeños and the house made tangy mustard danced in my mouth. The meat is a great quality and the cheese slice was generous. Call me crazy but when I order nachos I'm expecting tortilla chips. Nope. This is a platter of potato chips. It does NOT specify this on the menu. I'm also expecting the cheese to be melted. Weird right?! Nope you get a plate of potato chips with a huge pile of unmelted, cold shredded cheese and giant hunks of onions that looks like a 5 year old chopped them. Quick dinner here while passing through Laramie. I had read other reviews about how busy it is, so I got on the wait list about 45 minutes we got to town. Perfect timing, as we were seated about 5 minutes later. We started with the fried pickles, delicious, but definitely not needed as we had too much food coming our way. I got the hatch green chili burger with chicken (SO happy they will sub checking as I don't love burgers). It was hotter than expected- not sure if it's always like that. So the five of us headed there for a late lunch. Nestled down a side street near on a corner, we found our diamond in the rough. This quaint little place had a rusted Western charm. The staff working was very welcoming. I heard rave reviews about their smoked wings but unfortunately they were unavailable when we visited so my second choice was Bleu Burger... topped with caramelized onions, bacon and a large portion of Bleu Cheese, this burger hit the spot. I was only able to eat half the burger due to their scrumptious Barnachos appetizer... wow, that was delicious. Had my 16 year old son. It was a 55 minute wait. There were multiple seats that were at a short half countertop. Asked if we could sit there, they said no they don't serve food there. Tried to sit at the bar, it's 21 and older, respect that. Asked to sit at the high top table next to the bar. They said no it was 21 and older in the whole area. However next to the high top table we asked to sit at. At the VERY next high top table was a 3 year old. IN the bar area but yet my 16 year old son couldn't sit there. I would have taken a picture to share but being minors, I left the picture out. Heard they were the best wings in town. Guess they aren't the most honest or best service in town. Received the message attached. The question was asked if we went to the game because my son had a wristband on. I answered yes. Husband said the bartender would ID him. Once I realized he was asking if the 16 year old was 21 because of the wristband, I realized MY mistake, that is when I asked to sit next to the 3 year old. Didn't realize under the age of 21 only applied to customers, not the owner 3 year old son eating in the same bar area. Privileges of owning a business. Solid 5 star experience today and this is my 1670th review and glad it was this place! Nestled in the very small downtown area of Laramie, Wyoming is this hidden gem located on the street corner. I would plan ahead because this place isn't very big and once checked in you have to wait outside just because there is no room inside to wait. We had a short wait and once sat our amazing waitress Taylor was outstanding! She pushed this over the top for me and solidified a 5 star rating for me. For lunch we started off with some of their signature hit wings and they did just that! Delivered on the flavor and just the right amount of kick! Perfect cooked and sauces. For lunch I had the double green chili burger add extra back and green chilis. Served with tater tot's. The burger was outstanding! This is a manly sized portion and I couldn't even finish it. Next time I will get the single because my eyes were bigger than my stomach. The tots while not homemade were perfectly crispy. Fry sauce and chipotle ketchup were perfect dipping sauces. This was an outstanding experience and while there didn't realize but Guy Fieri has been here as well! Now I know why. What a great find and will for sure be back! read more
