My son is relocating to Wyoming for school and while settling him in we stopped in for breakfast and coffee. The cafe is so welcoming and cozy. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The coffee drinks we ordered were outstanding. My 16 oz Latte was rich and smooth. Delicious . My son's Americano was made with added cream. So refreshing to not be told "the cream is over there you can add it yourself ". We both ordered wraps which were served hot and fresh. There were plenty of tables and we chose one next to the fireplace. The cafe is decorated with care and held so much character. A mix of 80/90s Music was playing in the background. I can see why I saw a few customers making themselves at home with their books and computers. Appeared to be camped out for a while . They had a self service water station with extra napkins and coffee condiments. Newspapers and reading material were in an old fashion holder near the fireplace. This is the perfect place to decompress and relax. We met a doggy too Owners told us their dog walks them there every day to get his treat. This pup was just beaming. Water dish out front for their 4 legged friends. Noticed several customers picking up to go orders so if you're on the run you can order in advance. Tasty baked goods, pleasant outdoor seating, well-meaning staff, salads and sandwiches need some refining. Chicken is the pre-fab, pressed style with the fake grill marks. The guacamole was just mashed avocado--someone forgot the seasoning. The Hodgepodge Salad with Craisins had a disproportionate amount of berries and onions. I'd go back for the drinks and bakery, but you may have to try a few forgettable salads and sandwiches before you find some tasty ones. read more

I'm speechless! Never been more pleasantly surprised with a coffee shop! I would say this is one of the absolute best coffee places I have yet to try. And it is so sad it's so far from home :(. The girls behind the counter were dishing out amazing service and fantastic cups of coffee. Lots of seating inside and some seating outside upfront and more on the back patio. We visited about 9:00 on a Sunday morning, and it was already busy. The atmosphere inside feels cozy and has a local vibe. It was full of students and adults alike. We ordered a breakfast scramble, which was filling enough for my husband, a muffin, and a vegetarian sandwich called the Digeridoo, a hot chocolate, and two flavored lattes. Everything was fresh and delicious. The bourbon caramel flavor was rich but not I overly sweet in the latte. My favorite spot to sit and relax while walking around Laramie. I try to make it in for coffee, or soup, or lunch every day that I'm in town. The staff are always delightful and never without a warm engaging smile (especially Bee's). Great location, ambiance (inside and outside) and terrific made to order sandwiches and homemade soups. What a lovely little coffee shop cafe! A very college town quirky vibe. We went early on Easter Sunday so it was not busy at all. Our drinks came out very quickly and were a perfect prelude to breakfast. My chai hot tea was wonderful and not overly sweet like it many places make it. As we were eating there, I got my tea in a mug which I love. My daughter swooned over her iced matcha latte with brown sugar. She also got the Funky Monkey Breakfast Waffle Sammie without bacon and she loved it! Weird how I've never seen waffle breakfast sandwiches before, why don't more places make them!? This is a great spot to stop by if you're on campus, or on a weekend morning. Their cinnamon rolls and the Funky Monkey for breakfast are delicious, and I recommend both the Flaming Gorge (similar to a French Dip) and the Mad Hatter ( great curry mayo!) if you stop in for lunch. They also have great seasonal drink specials! Can get busy with long lines, and it's a small space so seating is limited especially when Uw is in session and in the winter when it's not as pleasant to sit outside on their patio area. My first trip to Wyoming for a pickleball tournament found me needing a good breakfast place in Laramie. Turtle Rock came up because I enjoy foo-foo coffee. I tried one of their summer special cold brew vanilla honey cold brews and a breakfast sandwich. Take a look at the photo. It was ace motions. The ciabatta was so soft it could have been brioche. Egg, tomato, spinach. Provolone (several choices of cheese options), and a slightly spicy sauce added the kick to make this superb. The staff was super friendly, prompt, and courteous. First time I went here was the day that I was visiting Laramie to check out the university. It reminded me of a cozy house with a patio and I got the BLTC (bacon lettuce tomato cheddar). It was always crowded but close to the universty, good for study partners, a first date, or a spot for your date to break it off with you (oops). Located just outside the perimeter of the University of Wyoming, Turtle Rock Cafe rocks! I don't know what I can add to everyone else's reviews here that are positive. We ate outside on the patio on a beautiful day and loved it. Because it was "Adult Grilled Cheese Day"--that's what we ordered. Inside the sandwich (besides gooey melted cheese) was tomatoes and bacon. The only thing I would change was the bacon to a tad crispier, as that is my preference. The staff was super friendly and so were the patrons. As I looked for extra napkins, the other customers were extremely helpful. Other reviewers are correct on the parking. On this particular day, I was lucky enough to park on site--I'm sure others may have had street parking issues. Most of the patrons walk from the UW campus to the location. I will definitely go back again as this is what an "old school" student coffeeshop should be! read more
